Hello everyone, I hope you are having a good day. I have been playing the elden ring dlc, so I think it's only fair to share some old elden ring/dark souls stuff I got on my phone. I haven't beaten it yet because I am playing it with my brother, and we are trying to explore everything we can without looking stuff up. I've been having fun with the dlc so far, though.
It's pretty accurate.
*Doubt*
All I need now is two friends.
Every time.
I heard you can control white people with cheese.
The only six pack I'll drink.
Everyone thinks I am a very calm and easygoing person.
Now for music.
*starting at you till you upvote*
Dino nuggets and Mac n cheese is so good.
I am not on any medication, and I am pretty sure life is raw dogging me.
A lot lot better.
The only reason I can think of.
Elden ring art tax.
TyphoonMuscles
I'm on the final boss of the DLC, and it sure is a thing. (No advice, I know the strats already.)

#1 At least Doom has the decency to let you have a shotgun. You don't need the shield, or luck. You have ammo.

#38 IMHO Kraft mac n cheese isn't quite the same anymore. Used to devour that shit. Our kids noticed it too so not just old palette. Have doctored with italian or mexican cheese blends and black pepper to get it good again. Kraft claims their changes didn't affect taste but somehow it's not hitting right. Other brands like the bunnies or organics are bland as hell.

This game is one of the few games I have truly enjoyed in a very long time. Played through to get 3 different endings and the platinum trophy.

Why did somebody downvote you?
I too came to the comments to post the name of the song, because I searched for it _for years_ before music analyzing apps existed. It plagued my thoughts and haunted my dreams, until I finally found it (I heard Reload on the radio, called the station to get the artist, found Resurrection) and I wanted to spare somebody else the same torment. Fun fact, it's a cover of a song written for a movie in the 70's, 'Siberiade'. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tS7uf4XW-_M

I always envied you... the freelancer... who had it all...
GadenKerensky
Seriously, Iguazu was kind of an... unexpected antagonist.
wantfastcars
I was kinda "WTF? *Him*?" at first, but I've grown to love it. No grand conspiracies, no interplanetary war, no magic resource, just an angry, spiteful little man who wanted you dead with every fiber of his being. Just one guy with a grudge, willing to burn the world to the ground because he fucking hates you.
GadenKerensky
Especially because his appearances over the course of the different routes are so... understated. He just appears, and every time, he's out to get you, even if you weren't the reason he was there for. But every time, it's just that little bit more personal. But not so much that it's obvious about where the third route is going, so hearing him speak at the end of it all is just one big 'WTF' moment. And you're right, he didn't care for ALLMIND's plan. He was using ALLMIND as much as it was him.

And in the end I still slam dunked his whiny ass into a dumpster. Eat shit, lizard

#6 do i need therapy? This is how i feel. But in a pit of quicksand
DVSBSTrD
KuroFluff
Therapy helps some, medications helps some, time can help, accepting who you are helps a ton. For me therapy hasn't been the trick, but medication, advice from friends, time, and accepting myself has helped me a lot.
Also, take a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO1mTELoj6o

Yes
Marsupialmessiah
Yup. Gonna try get an appt. Wearing a "all good" pagliacci mask is extenuating.
Miyamotofan
Like, literally every person should get therapy. Therapy should be a normal and expected part of our healthcare like regular checkups at the dentist and stuff.

#11 that hits home, at least before the meds and years of therapy. Now it's a much more mild yet unending sense of melancholy and somber. No longer spiraling into the void but the world still doesn't have any color.
OKSasquatch
Like I know I should probably do therapy and meds and all that jazz, but experiencing the pit of despair and knowing there's something deeper than rock bottom seems to be the only thing that makes the numerous bad days seem simply mundane and the fleeting good moments seem like flashes of actual happiness. I'm afraid that if I stop riding that edge everything will just be beige monotones and white noise and I'll lose those precious sparks that actually make me sometimes feel good about myself.
alwaysacleric
I get that, I really do. It's ultimately up to you, but I recommend therapy and meds. It's infinitely better than the pit.
burglarsonlarceny
#11 …. I may need a therapist
DVSBSTrD
alwaysacleric
Get one. Maybe a psychiatrist, too. Meds can be a scary prospect for some, and there is certainly a period of trial and error with different ones, but they can be life changing in a good way. It won't fix you, but it will stop the void from looking back.
sagejosh0
The “stop the void from looking back” phrase is definitely a good way to describe it. Meds don’t make you happy but they make it so the really bad shit isn’t as bad.
johnxbear
I found out that Prozac gives me hallucinations. So remember just because the first meds you try don't work the way you want doesn't mean that none will.
burglarsonlarceny
Is this what it’s like for others?
alwaysacleric
Severe clinical depression? So I've been officially diagnosed with it for 5 years now. At its worst, before meds and therapy and all that jazz, it was like a black void inside me sucking my entire being into it. It was a complete lack of emotion, feeling, color, joy, or sorrow. Life was meaningless. I thought about suicide every single day, I almost drank myself to death because being drunk let me at least feel something, so I got drunk every day for years. It was madness.
alwaysacleric
And yeah, you walk around with this void inside you doing all the normal things that all the normal people do because that's all you can do. When I finally got diagnosed in an inpatient rehab clinic, more than half the people I knew and all of my coworkers were apparently shocked I was an alcoholic and depressed.
Welley
So, thinking about offing yourself everyday while knowing you won't do it isn't the way to go? Doesn't the medication drastically change who you are psychologically & behaviorally?

#45 dimmaknife. A dagger is bigger than that.
GeneralDisorder
The term dagger can apply to pretty much any size of knife. It's not a Fairbairn-Sykes dagger but there are push daggers with smaller blades than that. I can't tell if both edges are sharp though. If so then it fits.
GeneralDisorder
Correction. Not all daggers are double edged.
InspiringBadger
That Radahn is STUNNING! Do you remember who the artist is?
MidasTheAlchemist
Just don't look at the fact that his nose and mouth are like a foot away from his eyes. Lol
InspiringBadger
He looks out through the mouth of his helmet, not the eyes of it.
MidasTheAlchemist
Then whose eyes are in the face of the helmet?
InspiringBadger
They're part of the helmet. This is his portrait that is found in game, to give a better angle on it.

Thank you! I just checked it out and I'm officially impressed with the work!
Zedrapazia
It's a Souls game and all, so it's not something that would ever happen, but I kinda wish we could see the world of Elden Ring and its inhabitants before everything went down the drain.
I'd kinda like to know what Radahn was like before he became the shell he is now, seems to have been a quite interesting person!
bigred810
Me too! Have you played the DLC yet!?
Zedrapazia
Not yet, too much else to do for spending time on the one game I have that takes forever to progress in. By the time I can finally get the DLC, it'll probably be Steam Winter Sale already ^^;
bigred810
I feel you. I played half way when it came out and dropped it. Felt aimless and hectic for a while. But I picked it up again & w guidance from friends and online videos I was able to finish it and now I’m on NG+5. Once you get the rhythm and know your way around it’ll be much more enjoyable. I can get to the final boss from start in a day. There’s so much but a lot is optional and it’s soo worth it going through the DLC. I’ve finished all souls games expect Sekiro.
HubicPairs
Never played a souls game (and been intimidated). I’m a lifelong gamer, though, and have played a ton of games. Do you recommend them? If so, where to begin? Fully knowing it will be frustrating, punishing, and demoralizing. I’m ready, daddy
Zedrapazia
I do recommend them, yes. But let me start with that, it's not as frustrating as you're told. Firstly, a lot of people just love moaning around about how difficult those games are - and sure, they are hard, but they aren't THAT hard either. The thing is, the games are set up in a way that you just have to die sometimes.
The goal you as a player have is to learn the movement and attack pattern of the bosses to avoid being hit by them. You die until you've memorized it well enough to win. I would>
Zedrapazia
>not recommend you to start with Elden Ring tho. The bosses there are a lot faster than in previous games, and parrying is quite important, but you still have to be very fast to avoid their attacks and learn their patterns.
I myself started with Dark Souls 1, which is less complicated and the bosses aren't that fast. They can be a bit unbalanced tho.
I recommend Bloodborne to start out with, it's my favorite game of the genre and a good mix of everything.
Just don't start with Demons Souls.
HubicPairs
I appreciate you taking some time out of your day to explain, and not to berate. Imgurs been a bit salty to me lately and I’m happy to hear from & interact with polite folks :) will likely give it a whirl soon. Thanks again for the tips, can’t wait to get murdered.
