I mean that they use the bits that agree with them as an excuse to justify their behavior, they twist the parts that almost agree with them until they do, and completely ignore the parts that disagree with them, even if forced to confront it outright. They're unhappy people who live on top of a house of lies, and if one fails, all of them might. So they ignore reality when it disagrees with them, and hide behind it when it does.

You and I went to very different churches. I went to the ones that talked about forgiving others, and giving what you had to those who didn't, and not being all showy and pretentious about your faith. These guys are to me what Dr Oz. is to actual doctors. They're what Linus Pauling is to people who understand how vitamin C works. They're the guys assaulting police with "Blue Lives Matter" flags.

I don't exactly trust my government. I certainly don't trust corporations. But anytime I see someone with a Bible and a gun I feel cold dread. The greatest threat to freedom isn't government or corporations it is armed religious fanatics. Only thing worse is a politician backed by oligarchs who pander and encourage said fanatics.
