#20 Such talent! Such range! Give that Eevee a berry, or a pokeblock, or whatever the kids are feeding their capsule monsters these days!

#42 The sad thing about this is I worked at a place that wrote and published adult education curriculum, and our Life Skills series included an entire lesson titled “Following Directions.”

#15 just reminded me I have a tattoo of tinker bell on my shoulder that I got on my 19th birthday. 22 years later I forget about her sometimes

Okay, never ask anyone out then. Be alone forever.

Look, you're gonna get rejected. You have to accept that as a possibility if you're gonna date. If someone rejects you in a cruel way they're an asshole, and you wouldn't listen to an asshole's opinion on anything anyway, so try not to let it bother you.

#9 anyone else disappointed we have an unnecessary cashgrab sequel to Toy Story 3 with a second on the way before an earnest attempt at expanding the world and implications from Ratatouille or Up?

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

No. It’s okay for a movie to be good and tell a story without revisiting it until the magic is beaten out of it.

Imgur has been weird the past couple days, something is a wee bit broken.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#54 they must teach at the actual worlds shittiest college if they broke their students brains by telling them about common misconceptions.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Don't overestimate people. There's people who still swear up and down that common misconceptions are true even when they can see they're wrong.

Premise of QI

Except it also 'corrects' them in ways that are intentionally misleading at times as a joke. Like they had 3 or 4 different answers for "how many moons does earth have".

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Yes, that's an ongoing joke from the early series.

#7 I misunderstood the meaning of "bottom" in this one and was perplexed at what appeared to be a word-find that implied those of a certain sexual position had brain damage or something.

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I thought it was just the incoherent noises bottoms make when they're enjoying bottoming.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Well….yes, but actually no

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The joke is that most bottoms keyboard smash when they are flustered.

#18 I assume it's also those damned straights who are writing the gay slash fanfiction too?

#64 growing up in a village of Eastern Europe i knew actual "tradwives". Ones with five children and alcoholic husbands. Sure, they would be picking strawberries - because odd summer jobs were necessary to survive.

1 year ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

However, I'm certain they didn't pick strawberries from trees.

1 year ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Can confirm. Those fuckers are on the ground. Source: did a lot of U-Pick strawberries when I was a kid.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

If you wanna be a stay at home mum, that's fine, but the tradwife movement want to force women into becoming "tradwives".

1 year ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Yeah, and there is Advil m absolutely nothing romantic about that position.

The Astronomy hotline or weird bug hotline?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Both

I can be mildly helpful for the bug thing when my brain is in cooperative mode. Can’t help with the astronomy bit though so apologies there.

#54 95% of the Internet got the Wizards of the Coast “scandal” wrong.
1: They *explicitly* provided small creators with a way to monetize their WotC modules without having to pay royalties in the proposed agreement.
2: They never attempted to force larger creators into an odious contract - the item everybody freaked out about was a draft they sent for feedback. Nobody cared until an idiot wrote a Wired article about it, misrepresenting the entire thing. +

1 year ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

+ 3: The entire reason they wrote a clause allowing them to shut down modules was because they were in a legal battle with actual Nazis who used their shit to make a game, and they didn’t want to deal with more Nazi lawsuits
4: The agreement substantially increased in size because they wrote every single clause in plain language in addition to legalese, to make it more consumer friendly.

The list goes on, but those were the more egregious bullshit items

This is the Nazi shit @RunanD is denying exists: https://kotaku.com/wizards-coast-star-frontiers-racist-trans-bigotry-suit-1849537890

You’ll note he didn’t post anything backing up what he said, and openly lied about 1.1 being a leak of a draft submitted for feedback rather than a finalized contract.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I haven't ever heard of that particular scandal, so I think that is more a case of people expecting more of the same swill from a poisoned well. At that point, it doesn't matter how much you run your shit through a Brita, nobody trusts you.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You certainly have, it was the OGL brouhaha. I defy you to find a more consumer friendly license from a for-profit company than what they offered.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not mentioning Pathfinder when it had such a big role in that scandal made me genuinely think you were talking about a totally separate incident. There's been so many lmao. So that's the answer to that question, lol.

But it wasn't about nazis, I have no idea where that came from. Also the statement everyone freaked out about - I remember Critical Role did too - wasn't any sort of leak, it was sent in earnest. It was only revised after the backlash.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yes, it was about Nazis. Again, one idiot writes a poorly-researched article for Wired, and a horde of people took it at face value, but none of you ever looked at the agreement or the actual context behind it.

At most, you read one section of a *draft agreement* and joined the mob.

There's some kind of esoteric takes here that make me wonder if the "95% of people got this wrong" is here because this is genuinely an instance of people hopping on a hate bandwagon for fun (which happens often), or if it is someone taking some really strange twists to try to defend a company that genuinely fucked up enough to piss off 95% people (which happens often). 2/2
