The Forty-Fours

Approximately 50km east of Chatham Island, and 800km east of New Zealand.

The Forty-Fours are the easternmost pieces of land in New Zealand.

Martim Vaz

Highest Elevation: 175m
Approximately 50km east of Trinidade, and 1200km east of mainland Brazil.

Saint Peter and Saint Paul Rocks

Highest Elevation: 17m
Approximately 940km northeast of mainland Brazil

Malpelo

Highest Elevation: 360m
Approximately 500km west of mainland Colombia.

Malpelo is too large to be considered an islet, but the rocky landscape makes the island difficult to access.

Desventuradas (Unfortunate) Islands

Highest Elevation: 479m
Approximately 850km west of mainland Chile.

It is difficult to find pictures of these islands due to their remoteness and inaccessibility.

Sula Sgeir

Approximately 65km northwest of mainland Scotland.

Sula Sgeir and the nearby island of Rona are some of the most remote islands in the United Kingdom.

Sule Skerry

Highest Elevation: 12m
Approximately 50km north of mainland Scotland.

Sule Stack

Highest Elevation: 36m
Approximately 50km north of mainland Scotland.

Sala y Gomez

Highest Elevation: 30m
Approximately 390km northeast of Easter Island and 3200km west of mainland Chile.

This small islet is the easternmost point reached by Polynesian explorers.

Missing Atlantis but understandable. It's pretty hard to get pics.

Something about these places are so captivating. Almost makes you want to live there all alone.

Cool. I'd love to live on an isolate island.
