My wife 2 years cancer free and finally little worries

She was sick for 4 years. We went to many doctors but they kept saying nothing was wrong. She began to be treated like a drug seeker. We knew something was wrong with her because she gained a ton of weight, had constant diarrhea, headaches, and she hurt all the time, and blood clots that once swole her foot up to twice the size. The second to last doctor she saw told her to tough out her constant diarrhea. She begged and begged for help. Seeing her cry for help was one of the toughest days for me.

She went to another new doctor who told her nothing was wrong. Nothing in the blood tests and nothing wrong in her x-ray for her back. She said I need to have a mammogram. That's the only test I've never done. This doctor told her that was unnecessary because she was to young. She told the doctor that she wouldn't leave until she had one. The doctor did the test. We got the news. Cancer.

They didn't think it was bad at first stage 2. They ran a few more scans, stage 3. Another scan, because they were tracking growth, stage 4. It reached the lining between the chest and the heart. Inoperable. To close to the heart. The doctor told us she needed chemo right away. We started that day. There were two options but suggested the most aggressive and we agreed. The doctor said if chemo didn't work she might have a year.

She did two chemo drugs at once. The strongest "Red Devil" and the next strongest. She did this for 8 weeks. At first I could tell the doctors were not hopeful by the doctors reactions to the MRI (I think was the scan she always got. There were so many) but after the 7th week to our surprise the doctor told her there was room to operate!

She had her first operation. When the surgeon came out she said there was complications. I shit my pants at first. They found stage 2 lymphoma in her left arm pit. They had to remove all those lymph nodes. I thought fuck is this gonna get any worse.

She went through high dose radiation therapy for a month. We were still worried because she had the brca2 mutation. She still needed a hysterectomy.

6 months after radiation she had her hysterectomy. They did not tell us if they found cancer because it would not matter everything is removed. A few months later she had her final operation to remove the breast spacers and insert her permanent implants.

It has now been two years cancer free! We don't know the exact date but I have pictures as a timeline and I remember what we did after we found out. We went to her nephew pee wee hockey game in Kansas.

During BCA month she was even on the news here in Des Moines Iowa
