It truly is an ugly, impractical, small-dick-energy vehicle. Whenever I see one pull up to a light or cruising down the road, it's always some middle-aged douchebag who can barely see over the goofball hood of that PoS clown car.
Worked for a solar company and we pre-ordered a Cyber Truck because, at the time, it was the only EV pickup truck that was going to be available. Then Rivian came out, then the Ford F-150 Lightning. Bought 2 lightnings and canceled the Cyber Truck reservation. When it came out it was bad, then we learned Musk wasn't just a bad, weird guy, but an actual Nazi. It says a lot about you if you buy one now.
It's so bizarre that people buy Cybertrucks when Rivians are a thing. They're cheaper, they're actual trucks, they're gorgeous and they're a much higher quality vehicle. Fuck, a Kia EV9 is a better SUV than a Cybertruck and a F-150 Lighting is a better truck and you can get one of each for lss than a Cybertruck.
To be like 5% fair to the Cybertruck, that boat is gigantic and appears to be aluminum, rather than fiberglass. Even if it was competent, i'll bet not having physically locked axles was a massive issue here. The driver is ultimately the issue, they bought a cybertruck and it was definitely not their only bad estimation of how capable they were.
And the hilarious thing is that it is supposed to be 'Stainless steel' and then is made of surplus materials from SpaceX, that is usually used for rocket fuel tanks, assembled under clean room conditions.
Because it is not stainless or corrosion proof. It is just good for cold shaping.
A Mellow Mushroom (a pizza joint) opened near me, and I was very excited. Until I saw a branded dumpster truck one day that apparently belongs to the owner.
idc about class perceptions, but if I'm shopping for a vape just go ahead and shoot me but *also*, if I'm shopping for a vape, I want something that'd actually work. A cybertruk promotion would make me look for a different company.
if I see a company kill a kitten as part of a promotion, sure, I looked, but it doesn't make me more likely to buy anything from them, it makes me more likely to never do any business with them at all. "no such thing as bad publicity" is not actually true.
Not everyone shares your opinion on the situation. They're not going for your attention specifically. I would say few would make having a Cybertruck a deal breaker. Getting new eyes on your ad, the new of the 'right kind' of eyes see it. So... you looked - it worked. It's actually become the topic of this conversation. It worked.
Real talk here, I'm not sure you understand the purpose of analogies in conversation. Or advertising. Or why your crayons gradually shrink as you use them. Or where your parents go when you cover your eyes.
So I go for things that I expect to be too obvious to misunderstand and you still manage it, which is an achievement in itself.
I could tolerate the ugliness of the cyber truck if it was any good at being a truck, but all the reviews and press suggests it isn't a very good truck, its not even that good for city driving. Just very expensive and kinda shit at everything.
My hot take is I actually kind of like the look of the Cybertruck, but the litany of technical & build issues and also Musk being a nazi fuck means I wouldn't be caught dead in one.
This is my argument as well. The appearance of the cyber truck is actually what I have the *least* problems with. It's not pretty, but at least it's unique and interesting in that way. But it's just bad at everything it's supposed to be doing.
Always funny. There's how many videos of them getting stuck trying to drive through slightly deep water? Then a new one's added to the video reel because another moron does it declaring "They just weren't doing it right, here watch me" before ending up waist deep in dirty water inside their rolling spam can.
Ha! My brother lives near Colorado Springs, there are a TON of cybertrucks there. Many of them have right wing bullshit pasted on them, which seems redundant considering the image you shared. Still, it's hilarious how much they inadvertently lean-in to their Dunning-Kruger status.

My dentist bought one…F me

Seen a local plumbing company with a cyber truck. Not that I need a plumber but if I do, I wont be calling them

There’s one that consistently parks in front of my house. I worry someone is gonna pitch a brick through my window thinking it’s mine

Cybertrucks are crashing in value. Not gonna lie, there IS a price where I would buy one and drive.
Just not sure how low that is.

whoever made the decision to use a cyber truck for their advertising must be on drugs

Evidently it's transporting the driver to a MedBed...

Dr. Will definitely break HIPAA, will dead name you and try to touch you without consent, and slander you after it.

Saw one in my neighborhood yesterday, for a home construction contractor. Big nope from me

There are two Cybersucks in my town. One of them is junked out and rusty and this lady is driving it. Other one belongs to a doctor.

I live in a major city so I see several. This was the first branded one

There’s one in my town all decked out in the colors of the university football team. The SEC is a hell of a drug.

I saw a branded one for a vape shop when I was in Lexington KY last year.

I saw one this week that decked out to promote a vape shop and... well, that was actually about the level of class a Cybertruck is worth.
CyberHexx
There's one that drives around where I work and it's Barney Purple. Awesome color, but dumb vehicle.

I have a fun theory- smoking and vaping are both bad for you, but smoking makes you seem cool and mysterious, wheras vaping makes you look like a nerd

I expect much more from a vape shop

"It got your attention, that means......something" good argument
NotSomoneElse68
Isn't that literally how advertising works?

Only if it actually increases sales. Otherwise I'm looking at dozens of thousands of dollars wasted on a painted dumpster.
NotSomoneElse68
They funny need you're attention specifically.

NotSomoneElse68
Yes. Parking a cybertruck with a sign on it is the same as killing a kitten. How could I not have noticed.
Syovere
I had to somewhat exaggerate the analogy because otherwise I was worried you wouldn't get the point.
But - sit down for a moment because this might surprise you - supporting an open fascist's car company is also not a good look!
