There was a time, in the last decades, that voting system reforms should have been a primary focus, for both the politicians and the people.
The Republicans were the ones making changes and have reaped the rewards. The opposition had their heads.... in the clouds.
Nothing short of a national public movement (revolution sounds too violent for you, apparently) will "save" the former US.
