365 for 10 minutes just results in shitty soggy bacon. Like 400 for 15 minutes for them thick juicy slices

I have favourited your favourites

Why do they have to call sriracha "cock sauce"? I mean I know it has a rooster on the label but for Pete's sake

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Roxbury Russet sounds like a potato you flung through someone's window that owes you money.

Pro Tip: For a longer life avoid adding sugar to everything.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

What about plum sake?

Cook bacon a George foreman grill. Stays flat, drains grease, cooks both sides at once.....your welcome.

But it burns your feet.

They think it’s rude to rub chopsticks together, because it says they’re shitty? Maybe buy better chopsticks without splinters! Fixed! If I

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

rub the chopsticks together it’s because they ARE cheap and shitty!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Right? Who wants splinters in their mouth? I get the purpose of single-use chopsticks, but geez, buy some that are sanded down better.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Downvote because of false bacon+water-fact.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 3

YES! THIS! I was about to post.. fALSE INFO! LIES! THEY LIE!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i don’t think #1 is true

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Well, the time/temp is close if it's a Vulcan convection oven, and thin to medium slices of bacon on sheet pans.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What poor soul wrote beets shouldn't be sauteed. They are amazingly sweet sauteed or baked in the oven. Drizzle some sweet chili sauce after

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If you use McIntosh apples in a pie, they will be mushy. Tasty but mush.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Apple pie needs a couple different kinds of apples to balance out the pros/cons of each

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You had me at reducing shrinkage

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Freeze it and cook it from frozen

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

like a frightened turtle

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lot of people here saying the bacon one is untrue. Just cook it, and wrap it in paper towels to drain the grease after for additional crisp.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s a lot more apples than I ever knew existed.

Sure but can we talk how you got that username logo for a sec?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I too am curious?

Cook your salmon on a soaked cedar plank over coals. Also start your bacon in a cold oven and cook for 17 min once it's at 400F.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Too many options. Go for pizza

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is a useful collection - I'm putting it in my favorite and forget folder that I now have.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

FOLDERS??!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Cook bacon for 10 minutes? Fuck that, I'll cook it until it's crispy like it should be!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I actually cook mine for >40 minutes, but on low heat (~300º F). It melts in your mouth. (Good for mostly fat thick cuts)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Misread the last word and thought "Hell, don't be so harsh on yourself"! Anyway, I'll give your method a go next time I'm feeling patient.

+1 for Texas Roadhouse Butter

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Same!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've never heard of it. It looks like a recipe for cinnamon frosting.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It tastes like the apple cinnamon strudel part of an apple pie, but in butter form.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you put it on biscuits?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is ‘Murica. You put it on anything you want. (But biscuits and scones are excellent!)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stayman apple.....fighter of the nightman apple

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why would cold water make it shrink less?

8 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 1

It doesn't work for your penis. It does the opposite. I know because I have tried

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cooking bacon makes it shrink. Making it wet makes it take longer to cook. Just cook the bacon for less time.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good that yo asked that question cause i skipped all the other images to check comments on that :D

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't even read the rest

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just leave it at room temp to get the same result.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

the best way to cook bacon is to let it get to room temperature before cooking it. when you pull it out cold from the fridge and throw it

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

on the pan, that prevents it from losing it's crisp

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This goes for any protein. Let it come to room temp before cooking.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

cheah brah

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

...of course, we don't always have a chance to do that, but if you can then do.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It doesn't. It's a stupid food myth.

8 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 1

Thought as much

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also water droplets on bacon going into a greasy pan = lots of oil spitting

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Plus if you cook it while wet that's dangerous splattering. Oil (fat) and water shouldn't be mixed in cooking.

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

gotta cook it a bit, then rinse with water, and return to hot greased pan

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And it probably washes away some bacony seasoned goodness from the meat surface. It would make it soggy in any case.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Quick run no. Long run under water adds water. Loss of oil and water makes smaller when cooking. So the amount lost is less.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

But you add water to the finished bacon, reducing it's flavour. So no, bad idea. Also, water and hot oil / fat don't play together nicely.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

See rest of my chain comment

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But its just adding water to bacon you dont gain anything and it does take a while running under water to do so plus you loss flavour

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

So just don't do it. Plus the thing about oil spray is defs true

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Plus raw pork contamination is no fun rinsing a pack of bacon can be tedious.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

+1 for cock sauce and minced sweat recipe

Bomb ass glazed salmon: equal parts maple syrup, whole grain mustard seeds & soy sauce. Marinate for 2 hrs. Grill, or broil that. Top w/...

#3 Using a vegetable slicer works perfectly to slice cabbage up. It comes out even and looking prettier than using a knife by hand.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

pink pearl apple looks like a vagina.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I chuckled myself at noticing that.

downvoted by horny/angry lesbians i bet.

The flesh of avocados aren’t bad for dogs, only the skin and pit. Avocados are great for improving a dogs coat. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some dogs will even sit under avocado trees and wait for them to fall so they can nom on them, BUT WHO AM I TO SAY MY NAME ISNT EVEN EDWARD

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bacon does not cook in 10 minutes at 365, unless you're buying the ultra thin stuff they use at fast food places

8 years ago | Likes 167 Dislikes 2

You are correct. I used to always fry bacon but discovered baking makes it much more uniform and delicious.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also when done take it out, turn oven to broil, drizzle with real maple syrup and return to oven to glaze, less than a minute

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Each oven will cook a bit differently, but with thick cut bacon I put mine in a cold oven then set to 425. Once it's heated 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

it takes about 15-18 minutes to get it fully cooked and crispy. Also, I usually turn mine halfway through. So easy.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I always fry bacon because I usually need bacon grease.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also I tried running mine under cold water first, it shrunk like 30% more

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, bake it on parchment paper, makes it tastier and easier to clean up.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just take some aluminium foil and make one of these: (I just put it on a grid pan to make the crevices)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

(2/2) This way the fat will drip down into ridges as the bacon cooks, plus the heat will get reflected back up. Cooks perfectly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Agreed. I baked some bacon the other day and it takes way longer than that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I always did it at 350 in a convection oven. 15 to 20 minutes. Depending on how crispy I needed it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah I have problems with pretty much every one of these, least of which my thick cut bacon takes 30-35 minutes at least to bake.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah... most of these are hot garbage.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Well you're hot garbage. But a few of them were BS

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Putting water on your bacon before cooking is a recipe for so much splatter. >_< idc if it is even in the oven.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It really depends on if you want it crispy or kind of rare

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, cooking bacon for less time will make it shrink less, or you know, making it wet so it takes longer to cook.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get precooked, like Hormel Bacon1. Cooks beautifully in 350 oven for 5-10 mins, depending how you like it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 17

Precooked bacon is so bland though.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

that's bacon blasphemy... throw that shit in the trash

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yeah fuck that thin ass bacon. I like that thick cut bacon where it doesn't just flake apart picking it up from the plate

8 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 0

If it’s not think enough to sit on a smoker rack it’s not thick enough.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"thin ass bacon"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I grill mine. No mess inside, smokier flavor, crispy too. Just dont let it burn and itll be awesome. Make sure it some thick stuff tho.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don’t cook bacon naked

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep, came here to say that, I get it thick and like it crispy. I do 17 min at 380

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, bacon takes closer to 30-40 min @ 400 if you have good thick bacon.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Gammon, you’re cooking gammon.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those would be some crazy thick slices, like 6-8 per pound

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah like pork chop thick... Eww

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

to be fair, it's a perfect cooking guide if you enjoy diarrhea

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's not the main reason we cook bacon. It's for the brain parasites.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yea but i also generally try to avoid diarrhea, where convenient.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thick cut bacon I do 400 for 15 minutes.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Slow and low is the rule for bacon, 300 and maybe 20-30 minutes, if it curling up on the ends, you are cooking it too fast

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

400 degrees for 18 minutes here.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I do 425 for 15 minutes

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I do 4250 for 9 seconds.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

But no big deal

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nick no

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Desperately need to know if #1 is true before I accidentally waste bacon

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It it false

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want to know what science cold water does that keeping it in a cold fridge didnt

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This. Also if you oven cook bacon do you still flip it?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No need to flip bacon cooked in the oven. And most bacon will be undercooked if you cook at the time and temp OP suggested.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Lol! If you bake it on a grate in your pan, it will brown evenly on both sides without flipping. Cooks quicker and is healthier too!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just don't throw out the grease. So many people waste that perfectly good fat that could be used for biscuits or something else

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's cool, is that because the grate cooks it over the grease instead of in it?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it's a no fail system for bakin bacon!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
