I mean, sure. if you want to make those about 10x larger. Putting out fires is a 2 step process. The water is smothering the fuel, and cooling the active ignition. You can't put out a fire quickly if you don't have a LOT of volume.
Other less specialized trucks could bring more ammo, or work in a reload mechanism when the trucks connected to a hydrant. Idk would big dollops of water be better than continuous stream?

Most fire hoses these days don't do a focused stream, it's more like a wide spray that not only douses stationary matter but also helps suppress airborne sparks and embers.

Smooth bore is a solid stream of water that'll put lots of water at lower PSI. Combination has a selector where you can choose between a straight stream (similar to solid stream but not as cohesive) and fog, which is the wide spray. All have their uses and places for different types of fires. For big fire, you want big droplets cause they absorb more heat.
This reminds me of that MetalStorm thing they made what, 15-20 years ago? They had a rail gun pistol for their demo video, and also this same concept for firefighting
