Whoops

As a soldier currently on guard duty, this got a healthy chuckle from me. I love that his first reaction is to tell his mate he's an idiot and his mate is just refusing to look because he'll break composure. These blokes are true soldiers i can tell ya that

Remember kids, when loading an ak, always smack that bitch afterwards to make sure the mag is seated properly.

My bayonette fell of my rifle during change of the royal guard in Stockholm 1984. My captain made a smooth sweep pick-up when he passed it and re-attached it during rifle inspection two minutes later. He did eyeball me something terrible , but he never mentioned anything about it.

This man gon be legend

If Republicans get the seat, they'll withdraw support of Ukraine. Not only does it make them more popular (cause they're so meh) and have you tolerate the tax cuts, but then they can use Russia's actions as an excuse to further up the defense spending because 1x European country was invaded, so we must need more to defend the "West".

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From what i recall this was very early stage in the full scale war. I just had a laugh at it back then. It's certainly not like we don't see Russia making exceptionally stupid things every day.

"We will blow up the dam to flood everything downriver!" "But, sir, our troops are down river!"

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

This isn’t even a stupid mistake. The reason why we have gone away from using rock and lock mags, like the ak has, is because it is easy to insert them and not fully lock them in. If you don’t slam them in hard, most of the time they will lock in, but sometimes they won’t.

Yes. Civilians and politicans were preparing to defend kyiv - guy in the foreground giving the interview is the former president of ukraine. He, klitschkos etc. all showed up armed during that time "we'll defend kyiv".

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, this was in like the first month after the orc invasion. Pretty sure guy in front being interviewed was the old mayor(?) of Kiev or something.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Previous President of Ukraine actually, Petro Poroshenko

Thanks, yeah!

I can hear the "god fucKING DAMMIT, PRIVATE" across the continent, the ocean, and time itself. I look down; double knife hands. They smoked this poor boy. They smoked him so damn hard I just wiped some sweat off my screen that's how hard they smoked this mans. They smoked him so bad Texas paused BBQing for a day out of respect. They smoked him so fiercely Private Jerky ALMOST beat out Private Fuckup as his new name.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The tale of Private Fuckup will be told in whispers to newbies for generations, along with that guy that tried to commit suicide by tying the floor buffer's extension cord around his neck and throwing it out the window but the cord was too long and it smashed on the ground and this totally happened in the next company over wen I was in basic

There isn't a soul in any combat arms mos that hasn't accidentally dropped a mag at some point. Its just reeeeally embarrassing that it happened while in an interview.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it hilariously stupid? Yes. Would I ever be that awkward? Constantly.

3 years ago | Likes 618 Dislikes 0

This is why I am terrified of anyone praising me too highly. Something like this would immediately happen.

People are people anywhere you go. A small moment of brevity for a nation at war. Give them hell soldier!!

3 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

A brief moment of brevity, you might say?

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

In his defense, it was out of rounds.

My practical experience with the 7.62 RK-62 (Finnish made variant of the Kalashnikov) is that an empty clip will go in and seem to be locked in place, but can drop out exactly like this with little provocation. Always check that the lock engages.

I was standing an armed watch on my ship, carrying a 9mil handgun. About halfway through my watch I realized the magazine was only half seated. Just quietly tapped that into place, no one knows. <_<

Russians probably laughing at this when their army looks like this:

"My CO is gonna smoke the living shit out of me later." Is what that face tells me

3 years ago | Likes 383 Dislikes 0

Nyah, a CO is FAR too busy to light up some mudfoot. But the staff sergeant? He'll be putting in over time chewing this kid out. And that's if he is in a good mood. If he's in a bad mood, he'll counsel the kids corporal and maybe squad leader as well for failing to uphold training standards

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

His CO is not his problem, his buddies are going to give him some ptsd over this.

3 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 1

120% he's gonna be called "magdrop" for the rest of his professional service as well.

3 years ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 0

I hope it will be there even after his service. You know that he doesn't end his service in a trench... fuck I hate war.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And after because that'll just be his name in his own head after a while 🤣

3 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

It's not a bad nickname to have. At least he can show you a recording of how he got it.

3 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Which to be fair is objectively funny

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You mean "Magdrop?" That guy who dropped his mag? Yeah, we give him all our extra magazines, since he won't need them.

3 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I keep thinking this is a skit.

3 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 1

It probably is, his hand is on the mag release before it falls out.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

I dont think he hit the release, its not seated properly to begin with

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

This is it. It was during an interview with a retired high up politician. Mag definitely wasn't seated, was barely even in the gun.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Despite this little "oop", Ukraine is still much better than the Russia. 🇺🇦🌻

Well yeah. Ukraine, "Whoops ha ha dropped magazine." Russia, "Haha oh left our men to freeze to death."

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Considering a big part of their army were average citizens not too long ago, I'd say they've been doing remarkably
