BOOM
HERE COMES THE BOOM

I enjoyed that

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What would it have taken to look over your shoulder? Honestly. Most accidents could be solved by just paying attention to your surroundings

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well that's an expensive mistake.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That truck probably cost a lot more than 25k

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You can hear the gust of wind come just at the wrong time.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They should have tried not flying it into the path of a truck.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The truck was waiting behind a billboard all morning to do that.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

*alarmed console noises*

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The joys of CGI.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Right?! I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees it.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is resurfacing from time to time and had been analysed in details before. Can't remember the details, but many things just don't add up

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Ukranian Farmers Army anti drone tech is wild!

2 years ago | Likes 112 Dislikes 2

Plot twist: the truck was seized from the Russian army

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

No that's just the plot

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hope it had insurance...to cover the damage it caused.

2 years ago | Likes 359 Dislikes 0

Professional pilots have spotters and decent hearing. Epic failure .

2 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

I mean not all of them. I have a part 107 license and I'm deaf. None of my gear has been hit by trucks either.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That is a massive drone

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This was a massive drone

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It probably cost at least two money.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"This advance can fly at any height! For example, the height of a drivers seat in a heavy duty truck!"

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You mean pilot flies 25k drone in front of very heavy dump truck hauling down the highway

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That looked expensive

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But is the DRIVER okay?

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

The use of drones and rc flying vehicles is very restricted in my country. Sometimes this sucks. But sometimes i understand.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why launch on road and not in a field somewhere??

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Hahahah skynet...

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Mind boggles. How can someone get to the position where they can pilot something like this and not have any spacial awareness?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

And a competent spotter.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Farmers aren't poor. They are also used to not having others around. I knew a farm girl who couldn't cross roads correctly.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

2 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

lmao. I am literally watching this movie while scrolling thru Imgur.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

...almost like ...the middle of a road is -not- the place for that or something.
Zero sympathy.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

What an idiot

2 years ago | Likes 433 Dislikes 2

God's fault - that's the "Mein Gott" bit

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

He definitely did NOT say 'Mein gott' :D looks like Asia, based on the 3 wheel vehicle in front and the lettering on the side of the car at the last seconds of video

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And the road markings are different, as well as the Straßenbegrenzungspfeiler.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Maybe it's obvious but I got to ask anyway. Who is the idiot in this case? The drone opperator or the truck?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

100% the drone operator

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You're driving down the road, and there's a truck stopped in the road for some reason. No signs, no cones, no lights, no flagger, no visible people, so you just keep driving right? Suddenly a god damn drone flies out from behind the vehicle right as you pass it. How on earth woukd that be anyone's fault but the dumbass who; didn't put out any sort of warning, stopped IN THE ROAD, and launched a drone FROM THE ROAD?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The truck driver is driving their truck on a road, all perfectly normal and legal. The drone is sitting on a road, then takes off directly into the path of oncoming traffic. There are many ways this could have been avoided by the drone operator, such as looking to see if something was coming, going any direction except the way they went, or _not using a bloody public road_!

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

There's even an open field literally 10 feet away!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Idk if flying drones around requires a license, but if so, remove theirs. Anywhere but a highway road 3 ft away from traffic would work.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

In the US flying a drone that size absolutely does require a license.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That feels a little on the expensive side... looks like the driver should be ok... may need some new pants.

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

That thing took up an entire lane.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anyone have the news story for this?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's been reposted on imgur a handful of times. Top comment the last time cited a bunch of sources showing that the video is fake. Something about how the shadows don't make sense

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Everyone always has a different reason why they think its fake, and they directly contridict each other. The shadow is cgi because... vs the shadow is real but shot from a different location because ... vs the shadow is real and shot here but the truck is super imposed because ... . Those cant all be true at the same time. Whenever people are all convinced its fake for different reasons that cant coexist, it means they have no idea, and everyone is just making up something different.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even on this post. Someone said it is fake because the shadow "doesn't tilt" when the drone flies, although someone immediately posted a pic of the part of the shadow that is clearly see tilting. Someone else replied that it's fake because the tree, which is higher, has a lighter and blurrier shadow, which is literally just how shadows work. Which means they all read something is wrong with the shadow, but dont know what, so they are just going to say 'something'.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tbh, I don't remember the comment I read all that well. I just remember it was enough to convince me. I think they had a link to the studio that made the video. Like, it was a demonstration of their cgi capabilities or some such. Then I saw similar comments the next few times this same video was posted. This was all months ago

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The number of times this has been posted, and the myriad number of different ways people have attempted to explain how its fake, you would think at least one person on the entire internet would have an actual source about it being fake. But no, never. There are no sources here, I have never seen a source, and searching all the times it has been on redit and all the random blog posts, there is no credible evidence it is fake. Maybe you have the one real source. By the way, do you have the source?

Correction: Drone hits semi

2 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

Came here to say this. Drone operator should face punishment to this real lack of judgement.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Losing their $25k drone is a good way to start

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I mean the drone jumped in front of the semi. It would be weird to say a pedestrian hit a car.

"Hit" really conveys who brings more force to the equation, rather than who is at fault specifically.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No, hit conveys who went into the other party along their line of travel. You got a punching bag with your first, despite the pounding bad having far superior mass.

The truck hit the drone. If the drone had waited another second or two, it would have hit the truck in the side instead.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Dude you're agreeing with me. Shut up.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Force is m*a and since the punching bag doesnt fucning moce its not bringing any force to the equation. Youre agreeing with me. Youre not making any sense but youre agreeing with me. The truck hit the drone. The drone jumped in front of the car.

If the drone had hit the sode of the truck, relative to the collision the truck would be mostly stationary so again, the dron would be bringing most of the force to the collision. So the dron would hit the truck.

Youre point is bad.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Very well, given that you don't seem to get the analogy, how about this: a pebble hits your car. Is the pebble bringing more force than the car?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean people alternatingly will use "i hit a pebble" or "i got hit by a pebble" to describe that. Its not a universal form

And youre still agreeing with me. Your comment was "no the truck hit the drone"

Which is what i said.

A road is not a helipad...

2 years ago | Likes 210 Dislikes 1

There are 2 types of people that think they have complete and unrestricted access to roads but traffic laws don't apply to them. Drone pilots and bikers.

2 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 11

Why the shade on bikers?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I live down a 2+ mile long road with no shoulder, just road then yard then sidewalk and bikers ride 2-3 wide and just look back and glare. I’m not saying they should ride on the side walk but let cars pass especially around rush hour in the morning.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you forgetting cops?

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Cyclists, bikers are slightly different / better but can still be pretty damn bad

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 5

I've more than a few times almost hit many different bikers because they blow through stop signs and red lights. If they think I'll be able to stop for them they don't understand how much of a piece of shit my El Camino is.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ah, so you actually did mean motorcycles and not bikes, sorry to assume

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope, cyclists. On their fancy bikes pedaling their butts off and waving their hands at drivers.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know a lot of bikers, their ability to switch from blaming all accidents on car drivers for not being careful enough round bikers, to sharing stories about messing around and doing stupid illegal things on the road is astonishing.

"We are very good lawyers for our own mistakes, and very good judges for the mistakes of others"

And its often not a cost situation but rather a lifestyle choice. They don't value their own lives nor anyone else on the road.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Whenever this gets posted, invariably, we get told it's fake. If it is, it's a good fake!

2 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Dudes, it fake. Look at the shadow of the tree. It's blurry because it's made by a real sun that takes up a portion of the sky. The fake shadow of the drone is generated by a pointlike light source, so it's very sharp. Also the tree's shadow is a different color than the drone's shadow

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

By different colors, you mean darker? As in a shadow from an object closer to the ground? And a sharper shadow, also as in a shadow from an object closer to the ground? You are just describing how shadows work.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's one of those videos where the quality is just a bit too low to fully tell. Some jankiness right before collision but could be artifacts

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Which part of it is fake? Looks pretty real to me

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

I think so too! I'm waiting on the naysayers to say nay...and explain

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I don't think anyone is challenging that so far

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I guess the shadows don't diffuse as it ascends, and there's no large drone parts on the road after it hits. But nothing damning.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

You can tell it is fake by the shadow. When the drone tilts the shadow doesn’t change.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Are you implying that they hand painted a shadow instead of using the actual shadow tech all rendering software has?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It does though.. Just not that much because it doesn't tilt much. Is the video real? Yep. Is it staged? Probably.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I remember someone pointing out in response to this that you can see the shadow pivot, just not much because of the angle of light - and they highlighted parts of the shadow that make this not obvious. you’ll see 2 bits circled here that squeeze together as it tilts forward

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

More obvious*. Auto correct got me

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

if you watch here you can see it pretty well. The “square” part of the shadow on the left also shifts.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's 100% real. Movement, shadows, etc. It all aligns. Nothing jumps out as obviously fake. Yes, there's a lot of fake shit out there, but there is no reason to think everything is fake just because it could be fake. I hate the knee-jerk responses from so many people. Remember the Boston Dynamics dancing robots video? So many people called it fake and it pissed me off so much because they provided no evidence to make such claims. CGI is still pretty easy to detect; this video is not CGI.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The angle of the drone changes as it tilts forward but the shadow stays exactly the same. Also notice the lack of sound.. drones are loud AF.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The shadow does change, though...it clearly changes. The sound is whatever. Hard to know if that's even the original clip, so I'm not going to judge it based on the sound.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I never get those comments. It's clearly real but even if it was CGI who would do that?! Build rigged assets, animate, add destruction, a hand held camera to track, all to make a four second clip that would be pretty unimpressive on a showreel and has zero monetary value.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly.

The truck. Not going to be very useful once it runs out of fuel, but that's a problem for after.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

My brown pants.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Speculative answer: stuffed animals. There's a possibility they'd become overpowered familiars, knowing that genre. Also a musical instrument if I have time to reach, and hope it gets enchanted too.
