I do know that PBS and NPR are quite different, but there’s a core approach to journalism I feel,is shared.
I find it immensely, it darkly, funny that, every July 4th, NPR reads the Declaration of Independence on the air, and every year they get thousands of comments about the “woke” and “communist” nonsense they were reading and how anti-American it is!

To be fair, I usually see the right wing guys praising the games you mentioned for having good female protagonists, and typically have reasons for why they hate modern ones. The difference between old inclusion and new inclusion is what sets em off.

Sesame Street was woke before woke was a common word. It actively defended progressive, inclusive social values since the 70s. Back then the show already tackled topics like racial integration, gender equality, breastfeeding, disabilities, ...
And the anti-woke brigade was also back then against it.

I always laugh when MAGAts say they’ve stayed put, and the left has gone crazy. Read them the platforms of GWB, McCain, Romney, et al, and they’ll begin screaming about those are libtard ideas that real republicans would never support.

Rino predates MAGA by decades. It’s been used in full as a common term for republicans that were viewed as too moderate since the 1970s, and “Rino” became common when Clinton was elected in 1992, and started implementing many centrist/right leaning economic changes, which brought many republicans on board.
Upset over Clinton’s ability to draw republicans, was the primary driving factor behind the Contract With America, and the birth of the modern Republican Party.

Interesting! I had never heard anyone say it until Trump used it. I didn’t get into politics much until he entered the race though. I’m originally from NY and knew exactly who and what he was…seems I’ve been fighting against him nonstop since 2016. I still can’t believe he’s been elected twice. I’ve tried to warn people, worked for all of the opposition campaigns.

I was born and raised in NYC. Trump moved to Manhattan before I was born, but I was a kid when he bought trump tower and went from being Trump to TRUMP, or even, as he loved to say, “The Donald.”
He’s been a trust fund con man all his life, but a writer’s strike brought reality tv to the masses, and the 11th candidate for the lead of the Apprentice, got an entire team of writers to invent back story for him, & introduced an entirely created character to the American public.

Isn’t it crazy?! That stupid show became the bullshit to fuel more propaganda via Fox and sent that fool blasting into politics. I still wake up most days thinking his first election was just a nightmare. Let alone him being elected TWICE. He’s Sickening. I’ve always hated him. Used to go for long walks with my puppy when my ex would watch ‘The Apprentice’ because I couldn’t stand Trump’s voice or face then. Now he’s forever on the TV and computer!

Public Broadcasting System. It used to get grants from the U.S. government via the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which also helped fund NPR (National Public Radio), but the tRump regime and its compliant Congress slashed its funding because it was "woke".

Wholesome educational content for kids like those two during the day. Then during the evenings, it had legitimate journalism (PBS News Hour), entertainment that wasn't insipid (Masterpiece Theater), or educational content for adults (Nova).
Instead of the corporate compulsion to siphon every bit of profit possible, PBS had an honest desire to educate and edify its audience. (i.e. woke)

It's a lot like the BBC.
One big difference is funding. BBC has a huge budget, directly funded by taxes. PBS has government grants, but most funding comes from viewers (no corporate ads, but periodic 'pledge drives' to beg for donations).
Also BBC is centralized, with some govt. appointed board members. PBS is more a coalition of independent local stations.
