I love the Divx watermark that was at the bottom on 80% of the media I watched.

I played this second. My whole neighborhood was an N64 neighborhood. So my friend rented a Playstation from Blockbuster, which I didn’t know you could do, and Resident Evil 2 the weekend it released. 3-man sleepover playing RE2 in his 2nd floor rec room, all lights out in the house, eating pizza. One of the best nights of my life.

Then I rented a PS and RE1 the next week and played that. And when PS2 released, I got that and RE1 Director’s Cut with the fart soundtrack in the basement.

I still remember the original release packages being these overly huge things about the height and width of a VHS tape. Was so glad they switched to jewel cases.

We were so scared playing this in my friends basement when we were 12. I installed it today thinking about those days and my friend who died two years ago. So many games lately he would have love. Miss ya bud.

I wish Capcom treated another one of their IP's as well as Resi...*cough* Breath of Fire *cough*

Dragons dogma? Streetfigter? Monster hunter? Megaman? Devil may cry? Capcom have like the most remakes and remasters of their old games making them playable even porting games from ps 1 era to pc, they are doing work

Earlier than PS1 era. They have 1980s era games in official PC releases. Rockman/Mega Man, for instance.

Parasite Eve!

As much as I want another Dino Crisis. It has to be similar to the first game, not the second. Fixed camera angles, and horror focused. But I don’t think modern capcom would do that.

#1 Remembering when you accidentally opened a door and had to wait 5 minutes for the next room to load.

The late 1900s were wild

I'm looking forward to the RE 0 Remake. I was introduced to the series with 0, and have always liked Rebecca since. I wish she was playable in more titles like Chris or Leon. The CV remake is gonna be pretty good.

I had forgotten chunks of that, like the terrible video acting. and I had gotten 8 s ranks in a row to unlock something

4 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Still better than the movies though.

My niece said everyone hates the movies, I didn't mind the ones I saw when they came out.

The first one is okay, the laser scene was cool, but that’s about it.

I love the voice acting, it is terrible but it's just so iconic.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

STOP... Dont... Open... That... Door.

I let it slide because it was 1996, Voice acted video games was still pretty fresh back then. I mean also its a zombie flick well game, so that further broadened my cheese acceptance for this.

Resident Evil 4 for the VR headset is awesome

Stop. Don't open that door.

First one was very meh (Christ that FMV acting was so damn bad). Second one cemented the series as a lasting legacy.

I rented it and tried to play it. What made me not enjoy it was the save system. With no idea how rare tapes would be to save I just wasn't interested in it. I know a lot of friends loved it. Mind you I'm not a save scummer at all and never have been. I just don't like not being able to save and turn off the game whenever I feel like it.

Resident Evil was the reason I bought a Playstation 1 at 15yrs old.
I was given the preview comic book weeks before the release, and read through it repeatedly.
It was the first real horror thing I ever experienced, always was to scared to watch horror movies.
I was so frightened my first time playing, I had to drag my personal tv to the family room and play around my family.
Now I adore horror games, and it's one of my favorite genres to play.

You have conquered your fear, young padawan.

And in 2026, I still wonder what kind of gun he's holding on the cover...

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In the game Berry is 38 years old... He looked like he could be my grandpa at that time. I'm 38 years old too now, he still looks like he could be my granpa. I feel old and confused at the same time

2002: "We should totally make a movie with precisely zero of these characters in it."

There is a whole movie about the falling out with Romero and the movie we could have had.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I liked it when it came out. Even had it on DVD. Watched it again a few years ago for Halloween. “This is terrible. Why did I like this?”

Because I was a teenager.

Actually looking back at how horrible movies turned out that were based closely (or tried) on the source material, them not having any of the main characters actually helped to make it a somewhat decent horror-action movie at the time.

Look at the later installments which where just pure shit

In a comment above, they could have just named it something else entirely and not tried to ride the coattails of the popularity of the game. I'd be totally fine with that.

My dad watched the hallway scene with us (dad-style, standing there in the doorway the whole time), paused and walked away saying “well, he must be a friggen mess.” This apparently earned him legendary status amongst my friends at the time somehow.

For what it's worth, I loved that movie.

I'm an absolute slut for all the live action and animated movies with the exception of the netflix series

And do this day I say the red queen did nothing wrong. Now yes Umbrella itself should have had each lab space individually ventilated so that a breach in one would not need a facility wide lockdown and extermination. But still its the rare case where an AI technically did their job. Of course then along comes Umbrella's mercs and turns off the AI.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The Red Queen was unnecessarily sadistic about the initial killings. That elevator scene fucked with me.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Agreed. The laser grid also does not jive with me, haha

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So would I if they had a complete different name, because it had nothing to do with the video game, nor it represented the feeling playing that game, not the ambient and much less the sound track, which was like being in a disco instead of the dramatic soundtrack of the game, and a load of bullets. So out of target in so many levels…

RIGHT?! Not a SINGLE green herb, either.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly. We had to wait for Scary Movie to see some green herb.

The recent series both animated and live action were pretty good as well. But of course Netflix hasn't done anything with them.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hold up...did you say there was an animated series?

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Resident Evil Infinite Darkness. But only one season. I think it ended on a cliffhanger as well. But it has been a couple years since I have seen it.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also only 4 episodes.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's animated movies as well - Degeneration, Vendetta, and two others.
