Let's get this bread.
Didn't have a nightmare about the computer system at work for the first time in a week, so that was nice.
Slept solidly from 1:30 to 5:43, which was 18 minutes before my alarm, but still: not bad. The first half of the night is still a little rougher though, I woke up twice between 9 and 1:30.
I can still hear rain outside which is nice. And Oops, I meant to save this as a future post opener, but oh well. I guess I still could. Less nice.
The dream
Also at the start of the day with this job. I still haven't even finished training yet. I actually applied to another job on my lunch break. Lol.
Or why not Mesoamerican history?
Take this Kestrel, it's dangerous.
I've actually seen this petroglyph. It is somewhere within 75 miles of where I live. Thats all I'm gonna say.
Well, that and PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE ROCK ART. It may make a great photo, with meaning about trying to understand the past, but the oils in your hands can cause all sorts of fuckery with the chemistry of the rocks or pigments in the art and cause damage.
Take photos. Leave only memories.
Mood.
Can't do this anymore, now that I have a job. Sadly.
I need an impossible sequence of events that somehow either:
-leads to me in a job i enjoy again that pays more than survival wage
-a wealthy wife that will let me be a stay-at-home dad
-a minimum of 4 million dollars at once so I never have to work again for the rest of my life and can just... travel with Pippin forever.
Amen.
Turkish style coffee is my favorite.
Im trying but right now its more "embrace the suck"
Or to the Condor feeding program.
Ugh.
Or just me, thinking hard about history and geology.
Pippin tax!
Today's message from Pippin: "Pippin! What doin?!"
______
1) Are you on the run to a safe place and passing through Arizona on your way to safer grounds? My apartment is open to you to crash at, and it is a safe space. Pippin and I will make you a meal and gladly share tea, wine, or mead with you.
2) Hey! Take your meds with a full glass of water, please. Do it for Pippin, or Space Mom, or better yet, do it for yourself.
3) Ĝefeloað wē. We will carry on.
4) all funds from the sales of items at these two links will be sent to support charities aiding to fight for Trans rights in the US (not just T-shirts!)

InitHello
I was just thinking "Huh, I didn't know Фёдор Достоевский was English"

#46 hell yes. Some of my recent acquisitions: House of Leaves (full color), Maus (vol 1 & 2 in one publication), Carl's Doomsday Scenario, The Last Continent, The Name of the Wind, Night Watch, Lightlark (which wasn't that good), Dungeon Crawler Carl, What The Hell Did I Just Read?, and Moving Pictures
AlmostCertainlyNotPickles
Oh! Also, I got a couple copies of the third draft of my manuscript.

#27 Upvote for Turkish coffee. I'd drink it all the time, if I had more time.
InitHello
According to Futurama, if you drink enough coffee you'll have plenty of time.

#33 any source on the paintings? I recognize the first one and vaguely feel like it has something to do with Ivan the terrible? Could be totally wrong though

Thank you!
InitHello
I know of Repin, he also painted Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks
MostAwesomeDan
I was unaware of his other work. That piece has quite a different range of emotions when compared to Ivan and his Son, but still, the way he can so clearly communicate through the faces and eyes is really something else!

#8 I think this has been pointed you as ai. Spikes on spike cuffs nonsensical. A little pinky weirdness.
aramis44
#8 AI Slop? Shame on you
SirSage
This makes it sound like they knew it was AI beforehand. Which I doubt. I scrolled right on by it without my brain saying it looked off, personally.
aramis44
spikes on right wrist and arm, fingers, pattern on her coif/headwrap thing, rings over fishnet gloves, lip piercing etc... You didn't noticed those?
SirSage
It had maybe 6 seconds of my eyeballs attention before I kept scrolling since this is a 50 image meme dump and it wasn't a meme. I looked at it and subconsciously said 'goth, cool' and scrolled.
theskepticinme
This seems to be a specifically prompted pic to me, there are no glaring tells. I understand slop to be repetitive fully generated posts and videos that have not been reviewed for any sort of quality or coherence.
gbtuba04
Saw this before. Look where the septum pricing is.
zombiejedediah
Fingers are also a bit odd, still. Headscarf pattern is irregular & would have to be handmade.
aramis44
ok, maybe I shouldn't call it slop. But it really caught my eye and when I noticed it's AI I was VERY disappointed

#25 I've found 'religious' people are the ones who get most offended when told that you watch what people do and not what they say. 'Thoughts and prayers' is a way of absolving yourself of responsibility while also treating yourself to feeling good about it as though you actually did something of value.
RufusPimperton
A lot of Christianity is based on the idea that deeds don't get you into heaven, but faith. The harder they believe Jesus = God Almighty, the more "good" they are. Where this falls apart is where that Jesus guy explicitly tells people be charitable, forgiving, meek, and kind. You'd think that if you truly believed that Christ guy was God Almighty, you'd be more motivated to do the deeds he tells you to.
ThatOneAwkwardPotatoGuy
You would think, and you would be right. "If ye love me, keep my commandments." "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." "Faith without works is dead." Its kind of a core part of Christianity, at least as far as I have come to believe.
RufusPimperton
It's a problem in all religions. When you tie religious identity to moral goodness, the state of being Christian becomes more virtuous than actually practicing Christianity. Blind faith becomes it's own virtue and in Identity Christianity unambitious heresy becomes a virtue if it's rooted in a blind enough faith.
