I’ll be at Church getting my “blessings”

Well I know it wasn’t a Catholic Church. They only get singles.
Sludgesoda
I mean the church *is* supposed to give to the poor, so why not take the burden off their hands and cut out the middle man?
dudehiemer
This is the way.

I find the panhandling to be odd. Is there any other business where they just pass around a hat asking for money?

Who the hell hands out $20s at church?!?
Ppl who give 10% of their paycheck every Week
Casually
In the book "A Stranger in a Strange Land" the main character starts a church where passing the basket is to give or take.

I read that book 40 years ago. I really enjoyed it then. I wonder if it would still be good?
It has been a little over 20 years for me but I think I would still grok it.
wtfasus
I read it a few years ago and it still holds up. Great read.
I’ll look at getting a copy and giving it a read again. Thanks for the input.
