I debated this measure more than anything else on my ballot before I finally filled in “yes” - taking money from schools (and asking for more school monies in a separate measure) and existing drug and alcohol programs seems counterintuitive to me, especially when what’s really needed is long-term treatment facilities and this does nothing to fix that. How is robbing Peter to pay Paul supposed to help?

Heading down there next weekend, gonna do Soo much meth

Anything that is a basic function (Riots if closed) of the government should be funded by the general fund or prepaid by bonds.

In OK they got the lotto in by proceeds going to schools. Guess who started getting less from the general fund?

Shorter term placating measure to get it through. Just wait, in future years police dept budgets will be cut once workflow drops.

That’s the goal, and part of it is being funded by reducing state police funds, which is something.
