I've got a supplier from china who does this on every package. It's not too bad if your carton cutter blade isn't blunt as fuck

Deal with this all the time with our Chinese manufacturers. But that's cause they reuse a box until it's more tape than box.

Legit. But all the ones I get from China factories is covered in yellow tape.

sealing and strengthening a styrofoam cooler, not embalming a cardboard box

That’s how my sister wraps Christmas presents, I wonder if I should use my chainsaw to open them in future?

As a UPS employee I like that tape job. If you’re returning a pkg to Amazon, stop using scotch tape! Trust me, it will go to hell and back.

Blue packing tape is fun stuff. More like sticky plastic wrap, but strong. Never seen it outside speciality warehouse stores, though

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You've never wrapped drugs for ocean travel?

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Once. I’m the dude on the left.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's in a dispenser.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I've never seen such a cooperative tape dispenser.

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I've worked in the field, the company bought good tape and good dispensers.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The little metal hand dispensers like he's using are GREAT. Gotta clean the gunk off occasionally or it doesn't cut as fast. We use U-line.

Why is Ray Romano working in the shipping department?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Knives exist and crucial if you are someone who receives many packages

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When you have done a few hundred thosand already for this drug order

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"one box of puppies, ready to ship."

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is a huge waste of tape.

Missed a spot

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're using quite a few leak proof coldpacks in there too, maybe meds or food

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My business gets packages from China all the time and they are all wrapped like this. Packages get beat to hell in transit.

He’s going to hurt his back

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To stop left pic. Fold a corner of the tape end when finished, super easy to start next time.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And folding a corner doesn't remove much of the overall strength of the tape.

I sent century link my router back and used Justin beiber tape. Thought that was passive aggressive enough

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Good. Fuck CL and their slow ass speeds

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

CenturyLink and Comcast are the only options for me... At the same prices I can get 20/.5 from CL or 175/5 Comcast and it's been more stable

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When you're shittier than Comcast maybe it's time to reevaluate...

That guy sure knows his way around a box.

6 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 1

Around but never in.

That’s what she said.

All that tape does nothing for a sharp point on a seam

6 years ago | Likes 456 Dislikes 5

Doesn't do much for the environment either

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gaff tape would have fixed the titanic

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol wut

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, my pocket knife would have that open pretty quick.

6 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 2

Oh stfu, geez lol

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My best guess would be they do it to waterproof it. Or just doing pointless things for pointless internet point. /shrug

6 years ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 0

also your boss would fire you for waste of work material i betcha

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

I deliver mail and see this often, they are just styrofoam boxes, so they do it to keep it held together in case its crushed (it usually is)

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You'd be surprised how many people do this when flying.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They tape it to make it super obvious if anyone tries to slit the package before it arrives at the destination.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yes but the customer can’t say that the box wasn’t properly sealed. Lol

6 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

You kidding? Karen would absolutely say that, no matter what.

I've ordered some stuff off ebay that was packaged like this from China. I think it's mostly so the package isn't fucked with.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably harvested organs.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Wrapping packages in China.. cheaper to use half a roll of tape on each package for 50 years than it is to fix the roof of the warehouse

6 years ago | Likes 201 Dislikes 0

Gotta keep the coronavirus locked in tight

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

From what I heard it is a tamper evident seal they use to mark their packages and keep them from being broken into.

6 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 1

If it's shipped overseas and gets open by customs it won't matter

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A standard amazon taping is a tamper evident seal. If they go thru the side of the box that is evident on its own

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

They are being cheap, amazon tape uses printing, this is just a plain color but is distinctive and package thieves are unlikely to have.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The gum tape is actually cheaper because you use about 1/3 the amount for similar taping with celo-tape. My job is fun -.-

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I dunno, looks like hes wrapping drugs for ocean travel
