Loved this show

It's called marriage.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

It's called an unhealthy relationship.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Inversely, it's possible to make loads of mistakes and still win. See Battle of Winterfell, Game of Thrones S08E03.

See the Trump campaign, 2016.

Picard knows this b/c he did the Kobayashi Maru exercise. And didn't cheat.

Kobayashi Maru test is more than 1's and 0's on the code it's the idea itself. You can change the code but you can't cheat the test itself.

Got Divorced. Been saying this to myself a lot lately.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Its also different here because they do not fear dying. To them, it just happens and you face it nearly every day on a starship

Data and Picard's relationship was so challenging and so rewarding. How many other people stumped Picard so regularly?

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

A literal god couldn't stump Picard, nobody else stood a chance.

I think commiting nothing but mistakes and still winning is the harder lesson though.

I reblog this whenever someone says "It's God's Will"

I said this to my wife the other day after she had a patient die while she was doing cpr. I don't know if it helped then, but I hope it will

The season 1 uniforms were definitely a mistake. Especially those mandresses.

The solution to the episode was to be petty to the point of stalemate.

Also Dr Strange causing Dormammu to rage quit

Kolrami, I have come to play stratagema!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Also a good life lesson

i’ve used a similar threat to that. “i don’t care that i’ll lose. your about to screw me over so fuck it will burn us both to get you” twice

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

both were threatened lawsuits (i would have won i had grounds but legal fees woulda been way more than the recompense)

When victory is impossible, settle for a draw. Literately international relations. Cold war anyone?

5 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

Cold War? Too soon to tell how that'll shake out.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Dormamu, I've come to bargain!

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

You'll never stalemate if you use the Bongcloud Opening

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's life, but it's also poor evaluation and decision making. Sometimes the only winning move is not to play.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

And sometimes that's just not an option.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sure, but so much of life depends on what you did previously. Even the most controlled situations are just heavily weighted chance.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

You can't control someone else crashing into you, but you could drive defensively and reduce the risk. Some situations are better to avoid.

I always upvote star trek. Its my comfort show. TNG,DS9,Voyager, just make me have hope we can realize we have already what we need to

5 years ago | Likes 71 Dislikes 1

What is your opinion on enterprise? I really liked first season, but I'm stuck at second.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It gives me so much hope, which has been in short supply as of late.

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I recently noticed I binge TNG about once every year, just because it's such a great combination of feelgood and important lessons.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I watch TNG,DS9,Voyager back to back the past 10 years. Because i had a fucked up life and now it makes me feel safe when alone or bored.

provide for all and still have the ability to grow, learn and come together without worry of needs or wants.

5 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

It shows me that we are primitive. We fight over nothing. The colour of skin or loving someone the same sex. We have a LONG way to go.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Yeah we so do but i also believe that ending the need/want thing would stop alot of the senseless hate because people wouldnt think others

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's kind of the point of Star Trek. We're not the Federation, we're the half black half white guy.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

are stealing or taking from what they could/should get.
