The less bending over a man does, the better.

When I was a kid my dad drove backwards with me laying on the tail gate grabbing the cones or putting them down… probably one of the more fun memories, working in synch with my dad

Think it would actually be less work to simply pick them up.

No such thing as unskilled labour

I once worked in a vitamin warehouse picking orders. That was by definition unskilled labor. 30 minutes of training tops. Pick the thing, put it in a box. Show us where the skill is.

It is allergic to labor

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The origin of that term was basically "Do you need training on the job or before you get the job?" it was not that no skill was involved in the job.

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah I know, but that's not how the term is generally used, especially by those that say full time employees in "unskilled labour" jobs shouldn't expect to earn a living wage.

Said while lauding the guy kicking some cones 🤦

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He is performing labor in a skillful manner.
What's wrong with the statement?

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Not saying you can't have fun doing a boring as shit work i.e. picking up cones. Just don't call it skilled labour because literally (and I mean literally) a monkey could do that ffs. Never ceases to amaze me how low the bar is set here.

Okay but you don't think his job is literally just "guy who picks up the cones", right?
That would be like seeing 5 seconds of my old job and think "guy who walks papers back and forth."

The original comment was said as an observation to his immediate actions.. not the rest of his supposed tasks or obligations.
