Personally, I like the law of large numbers. The election might be a self selected survey but it's a large self selected survey so you could extrapolate the results to the entire population with reasonable accuracy.
So yeah, I'd guess that about 49.9% of those who didn't vote would have actually voted for him too. Maybe he loses out on some swing states if everyone voted and that swings the election, but I don't see any reason why the popular vote would change much.

there's a skew with voting: generally older people vote more, but also workers in the US where elections are not a national holiday vote less

Yes but 65% of all those who could possibly vote, did. When 2/3rds of a total participates in a survey, it's pretty hard to skew the total results.
Like I said, the popular vote probably doesn't change much because you are going to have R voters in D states not bothering or can't vote as much as D voters in R states. Where it would impact the election is via the electoral college where a small number of swing states have an outsized impact. And those states were decided by fractions of a %.

When you separate the powers the way the founding fathers did… the whole thing had to work on people keeping to norms and basically just agreeing to do the right thing.
