Both sides are bad. But one side is much, MUCH WORSE.

"just react to what's happening! Don't have any critical analysis of political systems and take the necessary steps to change society so we solve the root issue that is causing this all to take place! Just keep reacting to the Boogeyman in front of you!"

I didn't vote for a few cycles but since 2016 I have been actively voting. One side sucks, or is "bad" ... the other side is fucking evil.

Nazi pedophiles

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

i swear no liberal actually understands why the nazis took power (its because of the liberals)

5 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Yes, one side has literal fascists. The other has fascist enablers, so either way, you're voting to enable fascism if you choose one or the other.

But here is the thing this false dichotomy ignores: they aren't the only two options.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Finally. SOMEONE gets it.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

To be honest, if anyone thinks that "both sides are the same", I would MUCH rather that they don't vote! BSATS voters always vote Republican

5 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

no dude, what i'd actually vote for is a contained civil war so your country can piss itself down the drain and let the rest of us live

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

To be fair, no one in this cartoon is saying that. She simply said the Dems are bad too. Though not as bad as a tual Nazis, they are still awful.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And the other has collaborators. It's clear as fucking day, Schumer and Jeffries are entirely uninterested in significantly challenging the fascists on anything. No matter how overwhelmingly D's win, they won't do what it takes to fix this.

Your choices are between actively helping the fash, passively helping the fash, or actively not resisting the fash. I'm not surprised people don't bother.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

One side has way more pedophiles.

5 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

And way people that SIMP for pedophiles. See Joe No-brain Rogan.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Clinton, Gates showed up in there too, you know. Maybe not as bad as Nazis, but still bad?

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At this point we're talking about proven pedophiles, not casual associates that might be caught up as protection/blackmail/bait. The association is thin for those two.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That sounds like selective reading. But I digress. The whole point is that just because the Republicans are terrible does NOT make the Dems good.. you can oppose fascism, detest pedophiles, and resist abuses of office, and STILL not like Democrats.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I see your confused logic. I'll take someone who is not a murderous fascist any day. This option has worked reasonably well over the last 80 years, since the last iteration blew his brains out in a Berlin Bunker. Liking the opposition is not required. It's just better and it upsets the fascists forever.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is the SAME system that allowed fascists into power in the first place. Why would ANYONE support a system like that? We have to hope and pray every four years the Democrats put someone likeable enough to convince enough Democrats to give a shit about them? That is a TERRIBLE system. Burn it to the ground. Do what the Roman's did and purge the Senate. (Metaphorically)

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dems lost to a rapist pedophile candidate who tried to overthrow the US government with a violent mob and put american children in cages. Dems lost in the term after the supreme court overturned roe v. wade. Dems lost to a party with literal nazis. An impressive feat!

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I wish these people would just admit they're not interested or ignorant instead of trying to justify their indecision

5 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Really? You're telling me the Democrats aren't terrible? Maybe not as bad as Nazis, but still awful.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think there's some "I don't want to admit (to myself or others) that I'm actually fine with Fascists, so I'll just use the 'Both Sides' argument to deflect." as well.

5 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I think its laziness. It's far easier to throw up you hands and say "both sides suck, I'm out" than actually do something. As a bonus, you get a bunch of compliments on the internet because you sound edgy

5 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

One side is Nazis, and the other side is working with the Nazis to fuck us normies.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But you see how never holding the side who keeps capitulating to right accountable for doing so is how you got to nazis right? Like, the cartoon is right, but it also goes for anyone who doesn't vote in primaries.

5 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Lol they are all politicians at the end of the day...

Not one of them cares about you and I

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

"Someone should do something about that, we want a strong Republican Party!" - The Democratic Party

It's almost like the Opposition Party created this problem by normalizing it and blocking their Left flank from fixing it.

5 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

Liberals really like it when their genocide, climate change, prison industrial complex, militarized policing, and state racism are all run by non-Nazis. It just feels better, you know?

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

And the other side has been supporting and funding those Nazis while whining that they need donations to fix the problem. Does anyone really think Democrats are going to fix any of this?

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah both sides are bad. Ok but one side is a tuna fish sandwich with too much mayo and the other side is N@zis.

5 months ago | Likes 163 Dislikes 6

Yes, if forced to vote for a shifty democrat over a fascist you should vote for the democrat. No fucking shit. That doesn't mean the conversation of changing a clearly broken and rigged system should be taken off the table. The left is not immune to propaganda believe it or not.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Tuna sandwich with shit instead of mayo. But real nazis are still worse

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That STILL doesn't make the Dems good. How do we get a HOOD candidate, because this system CLEARLY doesn't work.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I don't like tuna, and N@zis don't taste terrible.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

one side is nazis and the other side is THE FUCKING LIBERALS THAT LET THE NAZIS GET INTO POWER you clueless muppet

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

The files show that rich and powerful = evil, Most Democrats are in the same club as Republicans, they just know that their role is different. Voting for them might postpone the problem and make us feel like we fixed it, but really it's just a way to convince us not to do the one thing that can fix it - revolution. The only way is a revolution that makes the French Revolution look tame. They all have to go.

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just gonna leave this here, the year is 2026, the month is February. In the last 35 years the democrats have been in office for 20 of them.

Fascism doesnt magically appear out of nowhere 1 year into a 4 year presidency, not unless the opposition have failed to dismantle the foundations you built last time.

As it happens they've failed to dismantle the foundations laid by Reagan, Bush Snr, GW and Trump. Three generations of failure, and as much as I admire LBJ's domestic policies he wasn't 1/

5 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 5

Great either, he struck the first and most devastating blow against the congressional authorisation of use of force with the Tonkin Gulf incident.

He turned the FBI and CIA against the American people and had them infiltrate anti war movements because he was utterly convinced it was being run by Moscow or Beijing, and when they failed to find evidence of that he had them instigate violence to undercut their appeal.

This was the most progressive president since FDR or Lincoln, far more so 2/

5 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

Biden or Clinton or Obama. He oversaw the creation and passage of the civil rights bill, the voting rights act, medicaid, headstart and was the last president to give social security more than a worried glance.

Yet he still did all that fascistic shit.

But yeah sure the dems will save you, totally, I mean the planet will be a desert and we'll all be moisture farmers by the time they do, but they'll get there. 3

5 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

Its always funny to see people who reduce their civics understanding to " Hurr durr president am in charges" try and explain which party had power when and for how long. They always ignore the judicial and legislative. Or they paint with a broad brush and ignore the factions within the party. Probably can't tell a progdem from a blue dog. /gallery/history-of-political-parties-of-united-sta">-rcS3SNF">https://imgur.com/gallery/history-of-political-parties-of-united-states-rcS3SNF https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Factions_in_the_Democratic_Party_(United_States)

No i ignore that because its a load of rubbish that is only ever trotted out for the democrats.

Every single time the republicans are in power they manage to advance their agenda. Every. Single. Time.

And if you come back at me with the "we're a big tent" argument then im sorry but shove your tent up your ass because once again thats a difference that makes no difference.

Ineffective is ineffective regardless of the excuses why.

More like one side doesn't want to improve the things the common person wants and isn't pressing their boot on the nazis like it should. But: THE OTHER SIDE IS FREAKING NAZIS!"!!

5 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

The thing is- and I get accusations every time I point this out so I want to be very clear that I consistently vote for them- failing to improve the things the common person wants, or even present a plan in which that might happen, or even actually oppose freaking nazis, VERY PREDICTABLY costs votes. To win elections you have to convince people to vote for you. Nazi side does that by a combination of pandering and lies. Effective policy and truth can beat that, if anyone was willing to try it.

Evil triumphs when good people choose to do nothing, all because the side fighting evil is flawed people trying to do best they can, instead of bloody saints.

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

This is a faulty assumption thinking that one side is fighting evil instead of enabling it.

Wake up, this was always the inevitable end of the American experiment. The left-wing had been warning this was coming for over a century yet people still kowtowed to the very systems that were enabling it.

We have chosen to do nothing about it for over a century and instead hoped that the system that was enslaving us would magically turn around and save us.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Fighting evil isnt some lofty ideal that you need to be qualified for. If you just side with the oposite side of evil, you are doing it right. You talk big words but wake up and do what? Wake up and accept inevitable end? What are you, Denethor of Rohan on his way to the pyre?

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Again you're working under the assumption that the people you are advocating for are fighting evil instead of enabling it.

Never said "just accept it" so don't put words in my mouth. I said to understand it so we don't make the same mistakes.

No, I'm just someone who understands systemic influences of our political institutions and their sociological effects on how they shape our society into what it is over time. You too can understand this if you read leftist theory.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My assumption urges ppl to vote for the opposite party to the most destructive. What does your theory do? All you are providing is a conclusion that "both sides are bad" and provide no alternative. Even if you are completely right, what use is this and how is it different from Denethor saying end is nigh and head toward the blood pyre to burn himself?

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

"opposite party". Again with the false dichotomy.

Nice try but there are more than two options to vote for
and there are more ways to effect political changes than voting in a corrupt system built to disenfranchise you of your political power as a worker in a community of workers.

Just say you don't understand the perspective instead of making baseless assumptions about things you don't understand.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never said the word "us", but I wasnt aware the only ones allowed to criticise USA was Americans. Thankfully I live in an actual civilised first-world nation with free healthcare and public education that isnt run by an oligarchy and where people are held accountable for their complicity and support for crimes and fascism.

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 8

Technically true as lets is a contraction.

You can criticize, but you arent partners in th anyones fight. You sit there behind a screen trying to incite others to action you will never show up for.

Those of us that do the action cant rely on you to be there, take care of our pets/home/kids/bail if we face consiquences for fighting, or be a friend

You are a coward behind a keyboard.

Biden saying he's a Zionist is propaganda? Biden was the highest bribed politician by AIPACs own admission. Biden was a staunch supporter and Zionist by literally his own words. Biden approved billions of Americans taxpayers dollars to a terrorist state complicit in war crimes. And this wasn't just Biden either:

yes, israel is a propaganda powerhouse, but, remember a major benefit for the propagandists is that it becomes easy to see everything as propaganda and not check when something actually bad comes your way.. this is an actual quote that I had never heard before today either..

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

BOTH SIDES ARE AWFUL. REPUBLICANS ARE NAZIS. AND DEMOCRATS HAVE DONE F*CK ALL TO STOP THOSE SAME NAZIS. This is the stranglehold of the two-party system. I AM NOT SAYING REPUBLICANS ARE BETTER. BUT BEING LESS WORSE THAN A LITERAL NAZI STILL DOESN'T MAKE THE DEMS NOT TERRIBLE.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 8

Can you tell everyone here what they should do to address the issue here?

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Not in any way that is readily comprehendible with the limitations of 500 character limit comments but you can go read leftist political theory and educate yourself on the matter.

Marx, Kropotkin, Malatesta, Lucy Parson, Bakunin, Proudhon, the names go on and on. Go read a book and learn.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I disagree, but while we're at it might I suggest you educate yourself and read the works of Clancy, Wolfe, Steinbeck, Shakespeare and Suess.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Already have read all those authors. Great writers of fiction, well except Shakespeare but that's opinion. Don't see how any are comparable to being read on political theory and the authors I have mentioned.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

*Raises eyebrow* Proudhon? You skipped Umberto Eco but included mister libertarian socialism, mister national bank? Proudhon is half of why I can't make inroads on a rent strike. Trotsky is the other half.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Okay, fair point there. Proudhon wasn't perfect. Still, it does have benefits to be well rounded in their reading of political theory. My list is not all inclusive but merely a starting point. I would hope people would know to expand their reading themselves and seek out other authors.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have a civic and moral imperative to make the most of the current situation.

Electoral reform is crucial, but refusing to act until you get a perfect scenario accomplishes nothing.

Do what you can now, fix what you can in the future, and incrementally build toward that desired scenario as you go.

5 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

So, vote for the less shitty candidate and maybe that will fix things? That's a pretty terrible argument. Didn't that SAME system get us to where we are now?

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's not a winning or convincing argument to independents or non-voters. "Guys, grit your teeth and do what you hate and vote for bad people and maybe eventually things will shift." -- This has been said in every American generation.

5 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

The problem is the people rolling their eyes at that are simplistic idiots who think democracy is something that happens every 4 years at the ballot box. Organizing happens BETWEEN elections.

If your mentality is "I only want to participate when exactly what I want is served up to me on a silver platter", then of you're you're going to find any excuse you can to rationalize why your shitty attitude is justified. Those people have already surrendered and aren't worth pandering to.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed, those are the roughly 1/3rd to 1/2 of eligible voters who do not show up to the polls. To get them to the polls there are two options -- Change the basic messaging on convincing people to get out to vote, at the moment the best motivation they have is personal suffering (They only vote when legislation affects themselves personally) or make voting mandatory in a vein similar to Australia.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fine. Y'all want a better argument?

Get off your lazy, fkn asses and actually do the job of being a Citizen in a Democracy. That doesn't mean vote quietly every 4 years. It means organizing voting blocs. It means interviewing and helping to find better candidates. It means spending hundreds or thousands of hours per year to ensure the proper functioning of the System. If you do not take control of your Democracy then the worst people will absolutely do the work. Decide: Citizen or Subject?

5 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

They that with Bernie Sanders in 2016 -- The corporation we put in charge of the two parties who control US politics, in this case the DNC, conspired so heavily against the progressive candidate that they ceremoniously fired Debbie Wasserman-shultz. A massive, grassroots campaign decimated from the inside by design from a system that doesn't work for you. Because American Democracy doesn't work the way you want it to. -- Be a group worthy of getting people off their asses. Right now, you ain't.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I am sick to death of this argument. Firstly, I literally phone banked for the Bernie campaign. So when I say that this is the ultimate cop-out and the propaganda from it is the best possible source of voter suppression so far in this country, please believe where I'm coming from.

The reality is that Bernie lost because he didn't have a grass roots system of support. Because there was no foundation built. Y'all hoped for a fkn King. Instead of understanding that in our system you have to /

And it is true that not voting is a REALLY stupid idea, But are third parties even viable? Simple-minded fools that vote solely along party lines are the reason Nazi's were able to take root in this country..How about a candidate people actually WANT instead of the "Not-as-bad-as-a-literal-Nazi" candidate? Seems a low bar to clear.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 10

But please, make the case that Democrats AREN'T terrible. You're SO stuck in the mindset of the two-party system, you immediately assume that because I express discontent with one party, I MUST be in favor of the other party. Yes, the Republicans are FAR WORSE than the Dems, but the Dems are STILL awful.

5 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 11

You misunderstand me. I'm not saying the Reps are NOT Nazis. They are terrible people. But so are Democrats, just not as terrible as Republicans. But STILL terrible. How about INSTEAD of Nazis, or Democrats, we choose candidates that AREN'T terrible.

5 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Did you not listen to a WORD I said? Just because Nazi's are awful does NOT make Dems good! " Not a Nazi" is an EXTREMELY low bar to clear. What have the Dems done to stop the Nazis? Besides "tsk, tsk" and as angry rhetoric? Watch John Leguizamo's video calling out the Dems for doing F*CK ALL to stymie those SAME Nazis.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

You're a Nazi tool. Why should I "listen" to you?

5 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Your meme skills are crap. You're presenting a false dichotomy, wherein anyone who criticizes Democrats must be a Democrat. Simply because the Democrats aren't Nazis doesn't make them good.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

Refusing to vote against the objectively FAR worse of the two parties, just because both parties are trash absolutely IS wrong. It accomplishes nothing except directly aiding the worse of the two parties.

5 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

"Our candidate ISN'T a Nazi." "Oh. So he's going to help the people?" "LOL No. Of course not. But he's NOT a Nazi."

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

That's.....terrible. Voting for the lesser of two evils is still a terrible thing. Why not abandon the two-party system? Why not get rid of the Reps AND the Dems. Purge them ALL since the Dems allowed Trump to gain power in the first place.

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

The only way to replace the bad candidates with good ones is if democracy lives long enough for that to happen. And refusing to vote against the party that's exponentially worse and trying to rig the system so they cannot be removed from power will only help them do so.

Replacing all the scummy politicians/parties with better ones isn't something that can happen over night. Especially in a country as broken as the US where people are conditioned to avoid doing that and need to be unconditioned.

5 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is absolutely awful. "You have to vote for an awful candidate, so that the fucking awful candidate doesn't burn it to the ground". What kind of a system is that? Maybe we shouldn't be pigeon-holed into a terrible candidate and a worse one? Are you so naive to think that under this system ANY candidate won't be awful? That is LITERALLY what you're advocating. Under this system, NO candidate needs to be good. They just need to be "not as awful". How will a good candidate EVER be chosen?

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Think about it. If people "MUST" vote for a candidate, then the candidate only ever has to be "slightly" better than the other guy. So how do we get ACTUALLY good candidates?

5 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Well it definitely isn't by supporting the party that wants to rig things so they can never be removed from power. Which is precisely what you are arguing people should do by saying we shouldn't vote for anyone unless they're the ideal candidate.

At this point I have to assume you are either another conservative shill or simply do not understand any of this well enough to bother continuing this conversation.
