I thought he would just get in the thing.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And then you fucking choose Lufthansa as a branding? Oh boy

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Might as well put a seat in it at this point

If that thing doesn't have a drone camera in the cockpit, why bother?...

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but why?

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

A question asked by the philistine and the unimaginative.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Ramy RC is the builder, I started watching him when he was doing much smaller rc planes (but still pretty big) in a tiny shop in I think it was Germany, he was 3d printing molds to vacuum press carbon fiber and is super detail oriented. then he connected with Tyler Perry who had him start building these giant RC planes. Now they are foam wrapped in carbon fiber. The foam is cut with a hot wire cnc then they sand and prep the surface before laying carbon on top.

New trump plane? His hands COULD open thoose doors...

At 55# the faa requires the uav meet part 91 ( or 137 if flying for pay) requirements rather than the part 107, and you have tto have a special exemption as well.

Lots of money and time involved it that because you are essentially flying a small plane

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just fly an ultra light at this point.

3 months ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 2

Why do that when he could just get in this thing?

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Naw, I wanna sit in that thing with my head and shoulders sticking out, like one of those miniature trains for kiddie rides.

3 months ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 1

Or just call it "drone".

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure the RQ-4 is bigger

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Isn’t that called a drone?

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just realized this is the private runway at Tyler Perry's mansion in Georgia

3 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I knew I recognized it but I couldn't remember who owned it. Saw it in a cleetus McFarland video

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe it should be donated to Ukraine

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

drone~ated

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Id love to build an ME262

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Just looks like more rich people bullshit tbh

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

$1 million USD, just to fuel it! Imagine if that poor guy fucks up the landing, tho.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ah yes, someone with a "hobby" they spend more on per year than I make.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't want to know what that thing cost 😅

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It cost at least $5.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

treefiddy

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Considering he had a private airstrip for it...

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, what are the rules on strapping cameras to it and using it to fly yourself places? Ya know... other than "no!"?

Smiles, everyone! Smiles!

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

And drone pilots get in trouble over a certain ounce of weight. Make it make sense.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Typically RC aircraft this size are flown at designated RC airfields specifically zoned for it, although this is Tyler Perrys house and he has a private runway along with a lot of empty land around.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Make it make sense as in tell you to read the regulations about where you can fly RC? OK, read the regulations.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

LARGEST?? You realize that there exist full-sized aircraft converted for remote "RC" operation, right?
RIGHT??
Like this one from 42 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD-rKZR5UHc

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?

and they said "one of the largest".

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Calm TF down, simp.

Capitalizing a single word for emphasis is not "SHOUTING".

Be less stupid.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I mean it was two words and the more you talk the dumber you sound.

Be less stupid, simp.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Oh, bravo dude.

"I-know-you-are-but-what-am-I." "I-am-rubber-you-are-glue-it-bounces-off-me-and-sticks-to-you."

If you want my own cumback, it's in your mom's mouth.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

My response was that you were wrong, twice, but suuuure, keep melting down. We're enjoying the show.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The largest hobbyist RC plane, then.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why not include UAV in your comment then since they are also remote controlled? I think few people would call any of them or a converted air plane an RC plane.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why so serious, dude??

a) most purpose-built drones are relatively small

b) remotely-controlled aircraft are VERY MUCH "RC" and are MUCH larger, which was the point of my comment ... "reductio ad absurdum"

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

also "one of the largest" implies there are multiple large RC airplane, and this is among the top bunch.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dude I worked with died way back in the late 80's at an RC airshow. A guy lost control of his very much smaller than this plane and it hit dude in the back of the head, killing him instantly. Was so surreal. "He died by getting hit by an RC airplane? Holy shit how fucked up is that?" was my response to finding out why he wasn't at work.

3 months ago | Likes 136 Dislikes 1

Someone at a nearby park was killed by an rc plane.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

RC helis, especially the large scale aerobatic helis, are extremely dangerous. When I sold RC at a hobby shop it was our policy to refuse selling helis above a certain size to a first time buyer.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's never getting less weird to me how humans usually do survive a lot (like, A LOT) of the stuff easily they die from instantly in movies and popular imagination, yet a die regularly from things that feel almost anticlimactic.

Hitting each other in the head, godlessly, for 8 minutes of movie fight: Barely an effect.

Getting a single suckerpunch to the back of he head in reality: Potentially instantly deadly.

Getting stabbed in the abdomen once with a knife: Instant movie death. Getting >

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

stabbed in the thigh: Movie characters pull it out and walk a little slower.

Getting stabbed in the abdomen 5 times in reality: Usually survivable when medical treatment is availlable. Getting stabbed in the thigh in reality: If it doesn't miss the two very large blood vessels, that's a very quick ticket to the other side.

Movie humans: Die from falling 3-4 m deep.

Real humans: Survive falls from 5th floor or higher, but die when they topple over on concrete.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There was a Virginia congressman that died whet the rc jet he was flying hit him.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Head injuries are dangerous stuff. Trip and fall the wrong way onto a hard surface can be fatal. Every time I see people speeding 30mps on some electric scooter w/o a helmet I'm worried for that it doesn't take much for a TBI to ruin the rest of their life.

3 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

TBI? Oh, To Be Interred.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. Humans have regularly survived falls from tall buildings and even from airplanes without a parachutes more than once. But being shoved and falling over backwards on concrete probably kills more people a year than falling out of an aircraft without a working parachute.

It's just crazy how much harder, but also how much easier humans are to kill than in the common imagination and in media depictions. Killing someone deliberately is really hard. Many murderers just straight up fail at it.>

3 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They try, sometimes several attempts, and fail. But accidentally killing someone by doing something stupid, like simply shoving them or hitting them on the back of the head with a closed fist, happens all the time.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Like the person I saw last week on a 6 Lane road with a speed limit of 45mph

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's a very expensive toy. I wonder who owns it. And what else he owns.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That is Tyler Perry's RC plane airport. He has a guy who builds planes for him. Mr. Perry's current net worth is estimated at $1.4 B.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Uh oh, that means Imgur wants him dead.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Like.. Madea??

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

among many other things

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He was homeless in the 90's

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Holy shit. Just looked it up. Madea has a record-breaking rc plane collection. This makes him infinitely more interesting to me.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

See at that point, and having spent that much, I'm riding IN the plane, fuck standing on the ground like a sucker

3 months ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 0

VR headset and complete cockpit control set up on the ground and fly it virtually.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

To me, at that point, it's just a very pretty UAV, not an "RC Plane", but I don't know why I care either :P

3 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

how much weight can that thing carry... thats the thing and all the other equipment it needs to properly function

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That concept of thought leads to 'if I detach the landing gear as it takes off, how much extra explosives can I strap to it' - So I assume many of the guys in Ukraine are top notch rc pilots just doing their thing :D

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm a banana, howtf would I know?

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How much potassium do you contain?

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How many spider legs have you eaten? Geeze, I'm a banana, not a scientist!

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Idk how I expected you to answer but this exceeded my expectations and had me laughing uncontrollably for minutes

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And now I'm giggling at the shared moment. Huzzah kind, erm, Space... Jew.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does it have enough capacity to carry a person?

3 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Depends how small you cut them up

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At the very least it could probably do a baby, though it would probably be difficult to control while sprinting away from it's parents.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't be ridiculous, flying vehicles that can carry a person are at least a century away.

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Maybe a 5 year old...

3 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Capacity? Probably yes. But I think I saw propellers inside the engines, so probably not enough lift. Maybe if he exchanged that for turbines?

3 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Those were jet turbines.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

No they are not.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ll bet the wings aren’t strong enough either. It’s probably very light. Like balsa wood…

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Turbines have rotating fins similar to propellers. Also listen to the sound it makes.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They are probably light weight air "turbines", not likely to be using jet engine turbines on an RC vehicle like this as they would rip themselves right off the mounting struts unless that thing is made entirely of carbon fiber, which I highly doubt.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or a few hundred pounds of... other stuff?

3 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I don't know if this is going in the "weird sex thing" direction or if you just want to smuggle some drugs.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sex, sex, sex... y'all have filthy, filthy minds!

I was thinking more about 9-11ing AI data centers.

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Y'know, stuff. For... things.

3 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Are we talking about 8647 lbs?
