This one made me tear up a bit

I needed to see this today. Thank you

Glad to help!

#12 not sure if daughter or dad is wearing the dress

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Yes

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I give thanks to my dad who half raised me, but was then there full force when my mom, his wife, passed away.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My husband was a single dad for 2 years before we met. +1 for you, and hang in there!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Single fathers are just as important as single mothers :)

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

Any parent there for their kids are important and equal in my book.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yeah... don't feed newborns through a straw though. You'll choke them.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My dad's an immigrant and my mother died when I was 5. He had no family in the States, my mom's family immediately offered to take me (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

so he he wouldn't be a single dad and he could "go home". He refused and successfully raised me on his own for 10 years till he remarried.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Looking back I have nothing but love for him and the choice he made, and I know I turned out all the better for it.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

You won the roll of life's dice with that decent loving dad.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Artist for that lovely bear of a father and his daughter? The bed one, and the superman with broom

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Soosh

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I like that the Batman one was modified to give Alfred credit.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As a single parent myself.... seeing this was great! Most single parents go above and beyond for their kids on the daily.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Hey Daddy

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 2

You had to make it weird, you beautiful bastard

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I share custody of my son, this hit hard. Thank you OP

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I have full physical custody of my kids but I won't cut their mother out of their life so she (sometimes unwilling) gets time with them.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You have to be civil with their mothers. It's healthy for the child to know both parents

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The unwilling part is her but I always try to be civil with here even if sometimes I just wanna do this

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

True that, brother

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you think I should send this to my dad? He's a widower I don't want to make him sad but he did raise 3 girls

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Go ahead! I always remind my dad how great he did raising 3 kids by himself even through 5 heart attacks.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Damn that's a ton!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The man is a stubborn bull haha you'd never tell meeting him though

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a single mom to a single dad. Good on you. It shouldn't matter if you are mom or dad, hust the job you are doing. Its tuff. Here's to ya!

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Tbh ANYONE who raises a kid alone is a god damned hero. It is HARD. I have 3 and a husband, without him I don't know how I'd do it.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Single father here. Thanks @op, I needed that.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Updoots for dadding.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

"30s, engineering student, virgin" works even better.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

shit you ain't wrong.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My mum did a terrible job. My Dad did an amazing one. But child services thought we were better with her. They were so wrong...

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's a sad story that happens all too often, that one. Hope you did okay regardless.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We did thank you. She threw me out first then my brother a year later. My Dad did his best and did a very good job with the situation.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I dated a guy who had a kid as a teen, that didn't bother me but he wasn't involved in his son's life at all. That made me sad. Good job @OP

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Every case is different but I couldn't handle not being there, which is why I bump heads with my kids mother a lot.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You're absolutely right, in this case he chose not to be there. Again, major props to you for doing your best :)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm luckily to have been raised by a single father so I had a huge inspiration to being a single dad.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I understand, my mom raised me and my sister on her own for a while. I only recently started to appreciate everything she did for us

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah I've hugged and thanked my dad so much since I've become a single dad, he isn't perfect but he always made sure I was fed.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Single parents are amazing, way to go op

9 years ago | Likes 867 Dislikes 8

Take my upvote and go

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I missed the middle of that sentence and thought I read "Single parents are the way to go" and my brain went ". . . uh . . ." O.o

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I did this to my mom last night, could tell she needed one

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks

9 years ago | Likes 164 Dislikes 0

It would have been nice if there hadn't been a few shots at single mothers in there. Bit of solidarity, maybe? Still, nice overall.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

I think it's more about laws and social attitudes than taking shots at other single parents.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I'm seriously planning about being a single father in a couple of years. I gave up in relationships but I'd love having kids.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Me too!! I want to be a single parent, my own parents said they don't care, they will help. Sadly adoption is hard for single people...

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So many kids in foster care need good homes. That might be a route for you.

Nonono, you've confused single parents with your miserable fucking face. Guessing you're a 20 something with no kids...and also a sociopath.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Yeah no. That's absent fathers but also applies to absent parents in general

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Today on lying through statistics! 1st this report is on single moms and you've conflated that to single parents. 2nd your ignoring that 1/

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

The socioeconomic issues that create this group of single moms is also the same socioeconomic situation that causes a spike in crime rate 2/

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

So possibly we should address this socioeconomic disparity instead of blaming the single parent who is busting their ass to survive and 3/

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Raise their child to have more opportunities than they had. But I dunno, shitting on single parents in this thread seems far more productive

As someone who was raised by single parents that thank God were present and not petty or hateful of each other, I don't get why the downvote

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

This shit is real, a whole family is always better, and often the mom gets the kids even when she's a much worse parent, because sexist bias

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You must watch Fox News

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You likely get all your news from one source or one perspective, rather than acknowledging that the truth is never that simple.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I'm a single did because my wife died. The only blessing was that its wasn't a divorce. That shits a fucked up version of fucked up.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Very much so, I'm sorry for your loss and I'm sure you both have made a great parent duo!

I talking more about repercussions. No one questions my parenting and my interactions with my kids . Nor are they going to. 1/3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Divorce can be very combative with ex partners using kids as weapons. Continuous questions about how the kids are raised. 2/3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not to mention the kids themselves trying to use it to their advantage. Kids and parents get damaged as adults forget to adult. 3/3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not if you are both adults about it. Plenty of people do it, but now your kid has no mothers. That's way fucking sad. Poor kid.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What was that vacuum cleaner, pony tail sorcery? Burn the witch!

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The guy rushed it a bit and it looks a little messy, but it works better than I can do properly.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I could never try it with my daughter but it truly is sorcery haha

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I want to try it but my kid is scared of the vacuum :(

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Aww you're babysitting until mommy gets home." Bitch I'm a Dad not a babysitter.

9 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 0

Next time, reply with, "She's dead." That will shut that bitch up.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That or I take him out on the weekend, and I want to yell at everyone I'm not just a weekend Dad.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Though having said that, I do have tremendous respect for the Dads that only get to be weekend Dads. Stand strong guys.

To you lazy lurkers...downvoting is not an answer.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Someone called for my Mum while she was out and said this to my Dad. He said "No. It's called parenting." and hung up the phone.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What about the uncles that had to help out because the father couldn't cut it?

9 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

And the goofball best friends who would lend a helping hand too... wait... did I just say... WOOD?!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nearly one year ago, I called the VA emergency help line. I had severe depression and suicidal thoughts. I wrote my daughter a letter...

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

...I felt hopeless. Ex had a protection order against me that her lawyer bullied me into making a deal to avoid. He didn't keep his end.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Hadn't seen my little girl in a year at my lowest point. Felt hopeless that I ever would. Just couldn't afford to fight.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Ended up moving back to Omaha with family I never felt had supported me. Got a job, got out the darkness....

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

And celebrated Christmas with my 3 year old daughter just last Sunday. She will always know her dad never gave up.

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Holy shit, that could be a plot to a movie. Respect man.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I am so glad you got help so you could be there for your little girl.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Also mad respect to the single mothers out there, we're all tough and hope to do our best for the sake of our kids.

9 years ago | Likes 1134 Dislikes 28

Yeah, nice save. Given some of the anti-single mom memes you posted, this one comment saved it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Which would you consider anti-single mom?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

parents/carers in general, kids are hard fucking work

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im a male and was raised by a single mother. Still did a great job at being a father to. Sick post.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Good choices op, single parenting is tough, hope you got some family support to help out too, I'd be screwed without my mama!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wish I did but my sister has her own two kids and my dad can't handle two toddlers after 5 heart attacks :(

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry to hear about your dad, if you need to vent to a stranger ever, I'm always here. :)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Glad you made this comment. Father joined the army before I was born, then sent divorce papers from Germany. Mom did a good job on her own.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

We are the shit! Thank you!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks man, it's a hard job to single parent, yet here we all are, doing our best.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You really can be a superhero to your children.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

True that, my dad was my superhero. He dropped everything, packed up my siblings and traveled across the county to get custody of me.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He packed them in what? o.o

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A car and moved in with his sister who lived in the same city I was in at the time.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a single mom of two, thanks!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Awesome post! That first pic, omgoodness, living it as I write this. Her 'cuddle guage' was low, what's a mom to do?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Single mom here, thanks for the great post @op! Love to all single parents out there just trying to do their best.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you. 7 months in and new to being a single mom. Have yet to figure out how to get a shower.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The first year in between doubles and nightly feedings, I forgot what a good long shower was.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I bring the baby with me most of the time. Mostly qualifies as a rinse. But then I get his baths down at the same time.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

when the baby is sleeping bring the baby monitor into the bathroom. Otherwise set baby up on a blanket / baby chair just outside of the 1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

shower. Play peek a boo with the curtain. Doesn't give you much shower time but it does at least gets you in there. Good luck :)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He has slept by my side since he was 4 months old. Wakes up if I leave for too long, and crawls towards me. The chair thing might help tho

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a single lady, it isn't the kids! It's their mother I don't want to deal with! Start off w she is cool or not in the picture!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm always up front about having kids and I completely understand some woman not wanting to deal with exs haha exs are never fun

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kids are usually awesome!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kids are the fun part haha it's the stalker in the background you have to worry about haha

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Exactly!!! Bitches be cray!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Awesome! Us single parents gotta support each other! Well parents in general, it's a bloody tough job.

9 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

And thankless.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How I feel some days with my two haha

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Just add vomit, poo and/or snot

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hahaha I'm laughing so I don't cry...

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0
