What else should she have to do to “go after” the average guy vote? What do average guys look for in a president trial candidate that she isn’t already saying or doing?
She got my endorsement months ago. Besides, the nature of a united front is that it includes people you'd otherwise disagree with. If you want Trump to be defeated resoundingly—and I do—then it's good that both Communists (like Angela Davis) and right-wing sons-of-bitches (like Dick Cheney) can agree to back Harris. Sort of like when Hitler was defeated by a coalition stretching from Stalin to Churchill.
Agreed. Part of why Hitler was able to get power is that the socialists and the communists in 1930's couldn't come together as a united front. So, I think it's particularly relevant that we need to be convincing as many people as possible to join the cause and not alienating them.
For a lot of celebrities, it lets me know that at least a part of them is not just horrible. For my opinion of the candidate? Very few celebrities affect my opinions there, and those ones are the ones who end up running massive charitable organizations or being UN Goodwill ambassadors and adopting a dozen kids, things like that.
I'd imagine probably not in any significant way, no. However I think there's something to be said for feeling a sense of a candidate getting more and more widespread endorsement from famous figures people recognize and/or like being overall positive. People like to feel like their opinion is in the right and the mainstream, so if you hear more famous people supporting Kamala and you do as well, you feel like you're more part of the in group. Maybe helps motivate some people, but just spitballing
Hollywood has been a tool of politicians for decades. They wouldn’t keep doing it if it didn’t change things. People are fairly simple….if they like Leo, they’ll generally be persuaded by his politics. Generally.
May sway some voters. Not as much as Taylor Swift, but it will have some influence on some people. But also, any public figure coming out for Harris in this election is taking on a non-negligible risk. Trump has openly said that he will be seeking revenge if he wins. When Swift was talking about concern for her own safety in making her endorsement, that wasn't an overreaction.
I think, much like the Taylor Swift endorsement, doesn’t sway voters, but does drive voter engagement which increases turnout. It isn’t someone who was going to vote red all of a sudden going “hot damn, Leo changed my mind.” But more of “you know, I SHOULD get out and vote.”
Probably not, but for infrequent voters, it's possible that celibrity endorsements penetrate their media in a way that real news does not. And in a race where literally every vote matters in several key states (fuck the electoral college system) it certainly doesnt hurt.

We just need at least 85 million people to endorse her and follow that up with a vote.
IG1Fields
I don’t know how many diehard Leo fans are out there, but we’ll take every damn vote we can get!

Forget Trump, sure he's a crazy, racist, homophobic bigot but the real issue is the people supporting him!? Unbelievable and sad! #Republicans4Harris

Nothing like a crazy narcissist getting popular. I wonder if that has ever happened before.

How about a hollywood elite billionaire that had his own reality tv show?
ChipDontDoIt
Like it or not, celebrity endorsements can influence some voters and we need every vote we can get keep Trump out of office.
ChanceVLuck
Dick Cheney and his war mongering daughter and now Leo? wow. Do you think there's enough time to go after the endorsement of the average guy?
sourpants17
I'm an average guy and I gave her my endorsement months ago. I thought I mentioned it.

Does this info really change anything?

People who care what Leonardo thinks will likely be influenced by his endorsement.
RearAdmiralObvious
Yeah, Kamala got 1 more vote.
Animorphs
At this late? Probably not. But people who have power and influence supporting someone definitely do.

I hope so! Any pro Blue info is good info. And I’m one of those Republicans for Harris. I’m now woke. There is no going back.

It isn’t someone who was going to vote red all of a sudden going “hot damn, Leo changed my mind.” But more of “you know, I SHOULD get out and vote.”
Xenarion
Which is probably the most important right now. Republican gain power when less people vote.
LordHosk
I agree with everyone saying that Leo's endorsement probably doesn't change anyones mind, especially so late in the game.
I disagree that Taylor Swifts endorsement was the same. The swifties are very strong in support of what Taylor says for good or ill.
