At first I thought maybe it was a guy getting catfished and scammed for money. Like someone pretending to be a troubled girl asking for help to get away from her abusive family, but he actually shows up to the random address the scammer provided to help instead of sending money like the scammer wanted. But the longer it goes on, the more it looks like a full psychotic break. If it's real. The framing brings up some questions, so not really sure.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

My bet is that its still a catfishing scenario like you described, where the "daughter" claimed that the "father" was keeping her locked inside the house and that she couldn't come to him because she wouldn't let her ever leave the house.

So door guy is going to rescue his "girlfriend"

The overcoat and the flip-flops are such a good look

Looks like a quintessential weeb hyped up on Mountain Dew who thinks he's an anime character.

"It doesn't work if you invite him in, though."

4 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

I'm so uncomfortable. The sudden yelling and physical outbursts... That switch from nothing to something. Just dangerous.

4 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Did he really try to kick down a door with flip flops on?

4 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

The second he kicked the door id be calling the police

4 months ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

I'd have immediately begun looking for a means of self-defense. Cops in my area aren't likely to get there before things escalate.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The 'wheres your daughter' line would have made ME call the cops.

4 months ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Right? My dtr is a grown-ass adult but if some rando shows up asking me to open the door so he can check on her? 🚨 I'll call the ACABs on him.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Same. Id only engage further if to prolong the interaction while police are on their way. I'd, uh, also have some noisy protection on me at that point too.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Where is your daughter? Yikes, dude. Yikes.

4 months ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 2

The screaming, unhinged threats, and kicking the door? I'm sure this man would be entirely rational once I open up the door for him. /s

4 months ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 2

Follow-up on this, the homeowner wasn't home. He was travelling, communicating through the electronic doorbell. The man did get into the house, and got brained with a shovel when he got home until police arrived.

It appears there wasn't actually anybody home, thank god. Mental illness was involved, he apparently heard screaming, even in the interior video where the silence is palpable.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kicking the door in sandals. Extremely unhinged

4 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Black overcoat with flip flops. Dude is about to get shot in his own neighborhood.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

He did say 'please'

4 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

Yeah, he was being polite. Why didn’t they let him in?

4 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

Man if this is real, brother looked directly into the camera literally asking to be caught. Also how the hell you gonna pull up in an anime shirt like that and expect anyone to take your incel neckbeard ass seriously.

4 months ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 2

maybe you're out of the loop and think anime is less mainstream than it really is, especially considering that he is wearing the shirt of the most popular series

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Out of the loop possibly, buuuut that still wouldn't deter me a short as fuck human from laughing at his attempt to be menacing! 😁

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anime shirt and FLIP FLOPS. The dude has flip flops on, kicking the door WITH FLIP FLOPS.

4 months ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 1

First, we had the Safety Flip-flop. Then, we had the Combat Flip-flop (just watched a crime doc where the shooter was found because he lost a flip-flop). Now, we have the Home Invasion Flip-flop.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I hope it hurt like hell when he kicked the door and went flying backwards.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

That daughter (if existent at all) choose wisely to reject his ass.

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I’m still having a hard time coping with all of the anime shirts I see while I’m walking through an airport…

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 8

Eh? I mean, people like what they like. I don't need to like Pokemon or GITS to be sanguine about a shirt.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're struggling to cope? What?

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I kept waiting for the cops to pull up in the background and this guy would either run away like a weenie or keep this up and end up hog tied on the ground

At most I bet he only gets a PD.

4 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

The only sources for this I can find are other social media sites like tiktok or facebook with no additional information. Adding the fact that this checks so many ragebait boxes a little too perfectly leads me to believe this isn't real.

4 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Pretty clearly a manic episode. This video will keep him from getting a criminal penalty if he has a competent lawyer.

4 months ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 7

Manic episodes do stop someone from being fit for trial my dude. The fact that this specific manic episode has him trying to save a mistreated girl will probably be anice motigating fsctor though.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

In my state there is no insanity plea.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Hahaha no. The legal standard for mental competence is very low.

4 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Except its not always a get out of jail free card. Sometimes you're institutionalized until you're deemed healthy enough to serve your sentence. Put in a cage to be put in another cage

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, declaring that he's a fictional wizard has to count toward some kind of out-of-his-mindedness

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Eh, I interpreted it as being intimidation/boasting rather than actually thinking it's his identity? So I think there's probably an argument that it's not enough to prove he's not out of his mind.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fair point

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not really. I watch a ton of true crime, and the amount of people that successfully plead insanity is very low. Even if they put on the best show (in their eyes) ever. This guy is clearly either manic or schizophrenic.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I think you read my comment backwards. It’s the low standard for competence that makes it hard to successfully plead incompetence or insanity.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The weeaboo t-shirt in the mugshot is really going to seal the deal.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

What is the extremely normal context of this lunacy?

4 months ago | Likes 132 Dislikes 1

There's more video floating around out there somewhere, from the inside cam. I can't find it now. It looks like nobody was home, they communicated by cell through the Ring camera. This guy didn't know that. He was mentally ill, and was hearing screaming coming from the house.

The homeowner was travelling home while talking to him, and brained him with a shovel, then de-escalated things (god knows how) until police arrived. The man claimed "I can HEAR them!" On the interior house cam.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, you see, he lost his fedora and katana and thinks he saw his discord kitten go inside. It's these damn pants restricting his amazing kicks, the footwear lets his kkkung-fu flow more powerfully, but if he was in his open bathrobe like in his home dojo, that door would have exploded into a million enemy seeking missiles. blachaw.

4 months ago | Likes 86 Dislikes 4

Aside from the fact that he feels like the stereotype of a school shooter on holiday, it is pretty likely this guy has some kind of psychotic episode. Seems like he is not entirely there

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Making excuses for these bastards eh? Plenty of people with mental illness manage to not menace families. He's exactly every bully with no life. Stan from eminem's song.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You are the type of person that made the life of myself and other people with mental illnesses a living hell with your black and white bullshit. If we rather label everyone instead of looking for causes then then yeah, you would call it an excuse. Fuck off with that you twat!
I'd rather include ever piece of shit person with a a mental health problem into the solution than to nitpick and oversee something.

That's Arin Hanson, who used to make animations on Newgrounds but nowadays cohosts a couple comedy channels on YouTube (Game Grumps / The Grumps), is part of a video game themed comedy music group (Starbomb), and runs a touring company.

Iirc the pictures are like 20 years old and were just him goofing around as a teen but someone put them together with the text later as a joke

Based on the personality he's shown. These images shouldn't be a surprise but an expectation. I say this with nothing but love.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I would LOVE to know, but the story I made up was that he believes there is a woman in the house that is danger. He trickles out "daughter" and "safe" a few times. So I imagine he's chatting with someone online, who claims abuse. He asks where "she" lives so he can swoop in and be a hero. This is the address he's given. Or he's just on drugs.

4 months ago | Likes 149 Dislikes 4

Yeah and his final words are ā€œIs she okay? What have you doneā€ [presumably it’s cutting off ā€œto herā€]. Not a healthy response whatever it is that’s going on.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He is so, the rational response to this is to call the police for help, not to go stomping around door to door like you're about to shoot up Columbine.

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

He tried to kick in a door wearing flip flops. It is most likely mental illness. He has a vision of himself in his own head that is divorced from reality but he's acting like that person. He needs medical help.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Trench coat and flip flops, he's ready for battle

4 months ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 2

Well uh...thats not really the most ideal way to handle someone who is having a mental crisis. You must be a police officer.

Assuming it’s a real interaction .. does anyone have a follow-up on this? Can’t find anything online. I’m assuming the threats and destruction of property are enough for an arrest here

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

What i dont get is maybe not this guy in particular. Seems like someone set this guy up to look like an asshole. but these days most criminals are dumb as fuck. I have seen plenty of doorbell ring cams, whatever. Why dont they just bust the glass on it before ya show your face no? I have caught a few guys creeping steps at the summer house when we are away. Like you can see it there plain as day fer fuck sake.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

This seems like a really good way to get fucking shot. Wtf?

4 months ago | Likes 274 Dislikes 3

I don't own a gun and I'd probably start shooting after he kicks the door

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Now THAT is America.

4 months ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 5

Mental illness is scary in a number of ways.

4 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Round where I live he wouldn’t have made it past kicking the door

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

And I dont normally advocate for people getting shot. In this case however...

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Depending on the state, he's very likely carrying. Plus he might shoot you before you have the certainty he has a gun. Shooting someone without that certainty can fuck up the rest of your life with guilt and trauma.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

It's a doorbell camera. Dude in the house isn't standing behind the fucking door. He ain't getting shot.

Dude outside? Better hope the cops get him before the homeowner does.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I'd stop talking to him, call the police, and keep a rifle or shotgun aimed at the door. Let him try to break it down.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would ask though the door if he wants the shotgun pellets, the 40 caliber handgun slug or the .223 from the rifle. I am no longer fucking around with people and their shit

4 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

That sounds like a good way to get yourself killed. How do you think someone would react if you said you were getting ready to shoot them?

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 11

Ideally, by getting the fuck off my doorstep. If I’m talking to them through my doorbell camera, I’m not standing right behind the door.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Some people just do not want to think before typing and hitting the post button.

It's bizarre.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He may have one but if he was acting like that outside and I was inside Id be standing at that door with mine already drawn. He goes for his I'm pulling the trigger.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If he starts beating the door and it starts to crack, then gun gets unloaded through.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That works too!

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah there was a video very similar to this where the ex boyfriend kicks down the door, shoots the father, grabs the daughter, drags her outside and shoots her just out of view of the doorbell camera. It's scary af.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can patch bullet holes in a door pretty easily.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Yeah, id have shot him, he is asking to get shot.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Shooting through your door doesn't have a great track record

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think I'd just start blasting without opening the door.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cock a shotgun on other side of door and I guarantee hed split fast.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

4 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Oh he would have shot it into the door by now if he did. Thank fuck he doesn't.

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

He would have at least Brandished it.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shooting into a locked door is going to escalate the situation but not improve the shooter's 'tactical scenario.' Doing that is basically admitting that you're rabid dog and will justify shooting the person, if they own a gun they are either going to understand that or will be so dead-set on killing the person inside that it sort of confirms they need to be shot.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

For good or ill, in my state, castle doctrine would completely clear you if killed him.

4 months ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

In damn near every state. You have no obligation to retreat from your own house. If the cops didn't get there quick this asshole is in big trouble.

4 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Not through a closed door you wouldn't be.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

I think that might depend on the state. Where I live a man shot 3 guys trying to break into his neighbor's house while on the phone with 911. He killed one and wounded another. He got away with it only because they crossed the corner of his yard.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure you can't be banging on folk through locked shut doors and hope it stands up.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

We've seen that before and the shooter got convicted of manslaughter if I remember correctly (couple of Hispanic cleaners at the wrong house by accident)

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

They weren't acting aggressively. No words were spoken, just a shot.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He threated his life and began trying to physically break into his house. That is exactly what castle doctrine is for.

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Only if:
1. You're calling 911 right while it happens (why isn't the guy in the house doing that already?)
2. He manages to get in.

In that order.

Shit, as a man, I agree with them

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I do too

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Same, though I'd also take the bear over a woman, humans can do so much worse than maul you to death :(
I would take 5 random people over a bear though, my odds of being tortured to death go waaay down the more RNG of people we add.
I would prefer a bear over any number of men if i was a woman though.
I would take the odds of any number over 4 of any mix of genders as a man though.
If i was a woman i think any ratio of at least 1 woman to 4 guys i would take over the bear, but its dicey for sure

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm a man. I'd probably choose the bear, too.
I've educated myself on how to deal with a bear the best I can.
I have no clue how I would deal with the man in this video, if encountered in the wild.

Do you think women dont behave like this too?
Do you think this man is a fair representative of the average man?

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 35

No. It's just you. You're the dumb one. Sorry to break it to you.

Probably also a major fucking incel.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

1) Women can demonstrate deranged behavior as well. 2) No, not an average representation, but there is also tons of other cringy examples of "average" men being gross, threatening, and/or violent to women. 3) If you think the bear argument is dumb, you might be one of the men that women would rather avoid.

Sure. I might be. I also might not be. You might be.
Believe it or not it is possible that I can think an arguement is bad and not be a problem at all.
This whole "if you disagree, you are probably the problem" arguement is a very unintelligent/unreasonable opinion.
My girlfriend also thinks the bear arguement is dumb btw. Many women ive spoke to think the bear arguement is dumb.
Maybe the bear arguement is just dumb....

So nearly half of women experienced some sort of sexual violence and 1 in 5 have been a victim of rape or attempted rape. Yet somehow you think women being fearful of the gender that by in large completes those crimes "is dumb". Clearly your logic is solid, and it's all their feelings that are out of touch. https://www.cdc.gov/sexual-violence/about/index.html#:~:text=Nearly%20half%20of%20women%20and,2

"Yet somehow you think women being fearful of the gender that by in large completes those crimes "is dumb""

Oh cool. So you are a liar

I didnt say that. I said the choose the bear arguement is dumb.

If you just want to lie about what I said, go bother someone else. If you want to be honest and have a real conversation, try again.

This not the bear??

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

It's based on how the men that say that are often the same men who abuse, rape, kill women. That's the punchline. :')

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The man/bear thing refers to which of the two a person would rather encounter in the woods- a literal bear or an unfamiliar man. Lots pick the bear.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I do too, but lets not pretend that mania like this is a uniquely male phenomenon.

4 months ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 18

There are plenty of red state politicians who behave like this that are not having a mental episode.

Smart people don't behave like this without there being illness, but idiot MAGAts default to this kind of stupid aggression.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Yea, this feels like mental illness acting out. Psychosis, bipolar mania, delusions, something.

4 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 4

Some folks are saying "don't blame mental illness," but walking up to a stranger's door, demanding to be let in, claiming to be, and dressing like, a fictional character, and going extremely angry like that are not things the mentally well do.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

A lot of men behave this way even when not having a mental crisis.

4 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 27

I agree. Mental crisis or not or not you threaten to break in start kicking the door, wearing a trenchcoat…ill let the paramedics figure out if he is mentally ill or not while they are trying to keep him alive.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, if you're convinced this is a mental crisis, it sure seems to suggest that behavior like this is not observed outside of a mental crisis.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

It depends on your definition of mental crisis.

For actual humans, it's a break with reality, do to extreme stress or brain damage.

For most men nowadays, it's simply a result of them not getting their way and thinking tantrums and violence are acceptable responses to feeling the big mad.

Real people need to be broken. Overgrown toddlers least need an excuse.

Look at Shitler. It's no wonder he had the cis white straight male vote. Overwhelmingly fragile little bitches in that group.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

I mean, whatever your definition of mental crisis is, if you already accept that this is the outcome of one, then it's hard to argue that this behavior is commonly observable outside one.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I don't think it's a mental crisis. Just normal male entitlement behavior.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

I'm not sure how a "I deserve your daughter because I'm a nice guy and I'll kill her dad to rape her knowing I'm on camera and think the police won't care" situation can be anything but mental illness.

Even so, this has a much more "The voices told me you're sacrificing children to the devil in your basement" vibe. Screaming about her safety and who's in the house. This isn't as coherent as "My name is buck and I'm here to fuck." Something is wrong with the narrative here.

This guy doesn't get shot.
A child gets shot for knocking on the wrong door.
You want to know what's wrong with America? Those two things

4 months ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 16

I had that exact thought.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

Well judging by the homeowners accent and the stucco, this is probably California. That's not the kind of shooting they do.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Neither should be shot. Both should be provided the care they need

4 months ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 5

With what fucking money. You think even the most basic ACA healthcare covers a therapist or anything mental health related ? It doesnt. "Get rhe care they need" is literally the equivalent to thoughts and prayers. Instead the rest of us have to go on the defensive wimhen shit like this threatens your home.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Not that I'd expect this mall ninja in an anime shirt, trench coat, and flip flips to be able to break down a door in his wildest dreams, but if some lunatic like this gets through your door and you own a firearm, you should protect yourself. Calling the cops while he's posturing outside is the thing to do, but I'd personally say anyone's in their moral right to defend themselves once a threatening person has broken in.

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Ngl, part of what this guy needs is a dose of FAFO, because he needs to understand reality. He's not the big guy he thinks he is, he doesn't have the authority he thinks he does, he's stuck in his own world and he needs to be broken out of that first and foremost before anyone can actually help him

4 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

there's a chance this guy is just off-meds

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Nah I'm fine with this dude being shot instead. The US allows too many violent threatening men to get away with a slap on the wrist until they finally kill someone (if they're white that is).

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

Aaaaand there it is, why the rest of the world knows America is hopeless.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Bingo

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

But you literally said in your other comment that one of the problems with America is that this guy didn't get shot. Should he have been shot or no, make up your mind lol

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I didn't say "This guy deserved to get shot" I said "this guy didn't get shot". This was not a judgement call, this was an observation that shows decisions for true defensive use of the castle doctrine aren't followed. Please don't shoot people through doors.

Harry Dresden... like the main character in Jim Butcher books? I really need to know how this ended and what was actually happening.

4 months ago | Likes 327 Dislikes 2

yeah fake name obviously

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

oh and it ended with his arrest, 4 charges, total bail 140k$...apparently happened yesterday...

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Sauce?

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

found a screenshot of some police database somewhere on reddit, the incident didnt really make the news yet by yesterday, guess you will find actual news sources by now or at monday that give more details...

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I... I... Hmm. Nope. Dude, take that name outta your mother fucking mouth.

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Looks fresh so if there's more we may have to wait a while/forever

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

A vampire trying to get in

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Actually a wizard trying to cross a threshold without having his power stripped. (Google harry dresden)

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Hells Bells. Why bring him into this?

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Video was taken like 3 days ago, definitely hasn't shaken out yet

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean I would not wanna be Dresden even if I was mentally ill after book 19... man has had a rough life. No one spoil the new book please xd

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

That's where I recognized the name from!!

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look at his fucking shirt and his dumbass coat. Dude's a 90's-style "studying the blade" weeb with main character syndrome and (probably) some pretty serious mental health issues.

4 months ago | Likes 201 Dislikes 4

I bet he rides a bike

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I wear flip flops for like, EVERYTHING - could run in 'em, will wear 'em with jeans, etc. I am that guy.

and even *I* think this guy looks like a grade A jackoff wearing flip flops with a fucking trenchcoat - what a fucking virgin

4 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

I thought it was a bathrobe

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That guy gives bad name to all the weebs...
We're just people like you.

This guy doesn't represent us...

4 months ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 4

Didn't say he did.

I've got no beef with weebs, just with arrogant assholes with main character syndrome.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

While others partied up to warldwor 3, i studied the basement to prepare myself. You can not cripple one, who amputates his limbs willingly ahead of the blade that cuts us all, yet to come.

4 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Stop saying they have mental health issues. They are just trash people. People can be just awful all around and not suffer from a mental health issue. They are trash.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's that not a dressing gown?

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Now, sir, you and I both know that IF you're Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden, my threshold would cause you to lose most of your power should you enter without my permission. So, how's about you go back to your basement and play with Mouse?"

4 months ago | Likes 118 Dislikes 3

What would Molly say if she saw you now?

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Harry is much taller and his duster is leather

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Also doesn't wear glasses.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nor a hat, despite what the book covers show.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah it's some sort of in-joke by now, I think in Changes it's actually mentioned Harry hates wearing hats or something like that...

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ah ah, castle. Though he still sleeps in the basement.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Not anymore.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Which is why dresden carries a gun

4 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Also I know your True Name so best back off

4 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Conjure by it at your own risk.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

... Did you just give your full name in your own voice? Well RIP you

4 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

It wasn’t his full name. Too many entities know ā€œHarry Dresdenā€ in his own words. He hasn’t said his full name to entities that can do something with it.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Conjure by it at your own risk.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

dont forget the perfect faceshot to id him with

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

It's either a skit or the dude is mentally ill. It's not that deep.

4 months ago | Likes 144 Dislikes 12

Certainly mentally ill

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Yeah? What’s your diagnosis, doctor?

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 12

Oh and I see you have some of that entitled rage too

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Nah, I’m just tired of armchair psychiatrist dipshits blaming mental illness for every little thing.

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 6

No one said it was that deep, we just want to know how it shook out in the end.

4 months ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Or both, in which case it might be a bit deeper.

4 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Don’t blame this on mental illness. Could just be good old fashioned entitled rage.

4 months ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 6

That qualifies as a mental illness

4 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Or at least it should

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

How far do you have to go in the direction of being an asshole before it does become a mental illness? Where do we draw the line?

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

When it’s diagnosed as such, seems to be a good start. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than trying to associate every piece of antisocial behavior with people who are already struggling with their own stigmas.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

You can’t define mental illness unless you’ve been evaluated by a professional. I’ve never worked with someone as old as this guy (I’m guessing 18-26) but it’s unfortunately possible he’s just an asshole. Hero syndrome is a possibility but considering we don’t know any events leading up to this, I find it more likely he just has lower than average intelligence , and I forget who posted the idea that someone posted, but it could actually be someone catfishing him. Or a ā€œprankā€ video

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This. I think we need to stop using mental illness to categorize every asshole. Sure he MIGHT be and anyone picking him up should handle him as if that is the case. But I don't always think people have a mental illness so much as a "I was never told no or given enough discipline (not violent punishment) to make me a halfway decent person" problem. IIRC we can do brain activity scans to corroborate mental illness.

4 months ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 4

agreed. But if this showed up on your doorstep, what would you do? I'm guessing you don't have the equipment by your front door to do brain scans. If this isn't a skit, this is not a mentally stable person, and they're threatening harm. Might be drunk, might have something else going on, but the homeowner has a situation to deal with.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

What? In what universe did you think I am suggesting to go out and interact with him let alone imply doing a brain scan in the moment? Read "anyone picking him up should handle him as if that is the case (that he has a a mental illness)" suggesting calling relevant authorities to handle him (hopefully not cops but probably cops)

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

hes claiming his name is harry deresdin that a character in a book from a fairly well known serires. becuase of that i lean towards mental illness. Dosnt excuse this tho

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I’m fine with leaving the diagnoses to people who know what they’re talking about, but that’s just me.

4 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Yea nothing wrong with that probobly better then assuming ether way

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I feel like hes akin to that one guy on to catch a predator who thought his punishment would be ā€œmy mom will probably take away my computer privileges for a few weeksā€

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Harry is an actual wizard who wears a leather duster, and is pictured with a hat, but i think that's kind of a joke because Jim butcher doesn't really describe a hat iirc. He's also not a shithead

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

At this point, depicting him with a hat is a Dresden Files meme because Harry does not wear hats.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He specifically states that he doesn't wear hats.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Also, 100% sure he doesn't wear flops in PUBLIC

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Usually boots, occasionally sneakers. Never flops.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He seems like a socks or barefoot guy around the lab/lair. Also, while i have a fellow Dresden fan on the line, so to speak, what is up with the criticism of the "overly sexualized" content? Is the modern YA stuff people apparently read before turning to Dresden just devoid of such things? He's usually busy, and he basically goes into how he's a caveman in that respect because of his early experiences. You can also just skip over and miss nothing
