Would I still have access to good internet connection and a reliable food source?

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'd live there, I'd never invite anyone over and die alone; that's when the fun begins

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mmm mayo

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As an Arborist... A contract there would be like winning the lottery.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kinda let the lawn go a bit though

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’d camp in that.

6 years ago | Likes 262 Dislikes 2

Do that, and you will likely be eaten by a gru.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it camping if you’re in a building?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Only if you snipe people from top floor windows.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Mmmm, moldy air

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's how you get black mold in your lungs.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know there's ghosts in there too, right?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watch out for them O'Driscoll boys.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Only to get eaten by ghost vampire leprechaun ceili dancers.

6 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Sometimes I think about a scenario where a ghost vampire leprechaun ceilidh dancer scoffs at the idea that itd be interested in eating me

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And then gets extra mad like it's the irrational one when I'm trespassing walking around the place calling it haunted

Tyrone House in Galway suffered the same fate in the War of Independence. Still standing tho. Love to see them restored

Nature will reclaim us all

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fiance is a stonemason, he will fix that up in return for ownership.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Want it to last? Build it with stone.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yes, and pay stone masons for the rest of time to restore it too

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Stone work looks intact, but yeah any work required is $$ - check the buttressing then do the roof, then you could rebuild the inside.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But yeah check the buttrestings, build a roof, its be a wonderful project. I'll tell you how much the stonework was if I win the lottery :)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I doubt it's intact with trees and vines surrounding and attached to it plus the weather wear etc. And all the pointing has probably eroded.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Chimneys havent collapsed, and pointing is easier stone work than making a rock wall, but I agree. Its a huge project.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What about earthquakes?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Looking at how many stone buildings have survived over 1000 years as opposed to brick construction says they are surprisingly durable, in

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those stone buildings over 1k years old, how many of them are in earthquake prone areas?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And of those that are standing, how many were reconstructed for tourists? How many were buried until their discovery?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

comparison. Im sure they would be even better reinforced with steel, as you could choose to do with modern construction like this (1920). I

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

wouldnt be surprised if that thing was refurbished properly it would stay up in anything right up to an 8.0.
