Laos is like a monument to all of America's sins, the dreadful result of Kissinger's decision to expand the Vietnam War beyond the borders of that country and into its neighborhood. For years, the United States has been paying to clean up the residue of its ill-conceived misadventure in Southeast Asia, but as the current administration cuts aid money and withdraws from the global stage, Laos is left to atone for America's sins all on its own.

When we where is Laos, already 20 years ago, they sold souvernirs made out of bombs to collect money for disabled children. Or, selling Americans their own bombs back.

Blame Kissinger, blame Elon, blame Trump.

Blame who you want, but I see this is a century-long strategy.

You don’t make a geopolitical world-scaled economic neo-colonialist economy with a couple of bad villains.

If hell were real and the universe a just place, Kissinger would surely be burning there right now.

There is much that US aid has done… from helping people, to cleaning up its sins, to diplomatic deals. It’s a big thing. Trump and his morons just don’t have a fucking clue.

We also bombed Laos for reasons other than just rando dumping of ordnance. The amount of unexploded ordnance is really crazy.

This is what's wrong with influencer "news" in a nutshell. Fix your mistakes, yes, but stop apologizing for history. It is way more complicated than "we're the villain" and that narrative needs to end. Oh, now USAID is some post colonialism coloniasm tool?!? Fuck off. Utter ignorance of global politics is no excuse for this fake journalism for aura trend.

If only that phrase was told more often... USA is the most beligerent empire in all of human history. It does not matter if Clinton, Reagan, Biden, Bush, Obama or trump is sitting in the oval office, all of them are criminals. And all of th should be hangged for their crimes, along all the soldiers that executed those criminal orders.

Trump/Musk Death Clock now at least 1,225,500 see my new report. Likely much higher globally from Covid-19 delay/disinfo. 3 million more next year per USAID Asst. Admin. Trump bragged he wanted to be among the top tyrants of all time including Mao, Hitler, Stalin, history's largest murderers. /gallery/trump-death-clock-tops-1-225-000-he-is-legendary-mass-murderer-as-trump-compares-himself-to-mao-stalin-hitler-next-year-est-4-200-000-a7MGBwo 1

next year their homicide count likely at 4,200,000, and in 2028-7,500,000. Counting global warming for reversing Carbon/Big Oil phase out, Trump could add 100 million or more...up to 1.2 Billion! Trump will be the most evil human being in human history by 2050 with up to a BILLION deaths on his hands. By that point the fury at Trump and the USA could put the country at existential risk, like Putin's Russia, Stalin's USSR, Hitler's 3d Reich, Pol Pot's Cambodia and other mass murdering regimes. 2

Definitely high on my shit list if I ever were to magically get a time machine.

The unused bomb reason isn't correct. The Ho Chi Minh trail was through Laos and the US didn't want to say they were intentionally bombing a new country.

I'm not sure how much your reputation changes between places 😅

I'm currently in right now.

Do you guys forget about the ho chi min trail? The NVA going through there and just wholesale killing Americans along the way and subjugation villages to their cause? To say it is the single most bombed place, implying it was all the US as though there was no provocation or warrant for us being there with MACVSOG is disingenuous. It wasnt a cut and dry situation.

"The country we invaded fought back. How dare them ? "

"Wholesale killing americans" LMAO. You mean the invading enemy forces.

Then he says "provocation". Astonishing. You truly ate your own bullshit.

Quick question, why were the Americans there? As an American who was in iraq, I can explain why I was in Iraq but I want to hear you explain why these Americans were in Vietnam. And why, in your opinion, they didn't deserve military action against them?

Isn’t the “s” silent?

1 week ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

It depends on whether you want to stick it to the French (as we all should) who added the 's' onto its English spelling.
In Lao, the 's' is silent.

I always pronounced the s, I'm glad to have read your comment.

I didn’t know that Kissinger was in charge of bombing Laos. I’m wondering why the B-52 would go on a bombing mission and not use the bombs and then have to drop them on Laos.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

My guess is the B-52 bombers would be sent in group to do a run first wave and secound wave. first wave would arive bomb the target (back in WW2 acuracy not great so secound group had to come and hopfully hit US doctrine have not updated for the tech advancement) so secound bomber group shows up 30 min or so later... Nothing left to bomb or ground force said we are in the bomb site now becuase the first one did its job. bomber goes well we are ordered to drop them somewhere

we are not allowed or can´t return whit bomb still on board.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They didn't. Laos was deliberately attacked in efforts to disrupt PLAF supplies traveling through it (PLAF is the acronym for the correct name of the forces involved that are called Viet Cong as an intended insult).

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

This. They didn’t drop unused bombs. The Ho Chi Minh trail went through Laos. Not saying it’s okay, but just want to be accurate.

China is going to pick up some of the tab, and anyone with half a brain knows what that'll mean in a few decades.

Better lives for everyone? That's what I think it means.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There will be less UXO in Laos?

The other half.

China is making friends and building soft power relentlessly. They are going to do something drastic and they want no one to check them outside a handful of countries. Maybe it'll be Taiwan maybe they'll take a hunk out of weakend Russia now that the Ukraine has blown up most of its military hardware.

China is funding a solar revolution in Cuba. They are going to fill every vacuum the US creates.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Let me rewrite thst for you: china is attempting to stop the easily preventable deaths of hundreds of thousands of people by starvation or medical neglect because there is no energy on the island

They’re trying to save lives and they wouldn’t be doing it if trump weren’t actively trying to genocide all Cubans

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also the us increased the pressure on cuba after they agreed to have china install military antenna to help know position of american troops, the us did not appreaciate
