Yeah, if you replace "clenched jaw" with "entire life has been a complete waste of time and effort and you've done nothing that matters".
NonstopRampage
Why do I feel personally attacked by this?
storknivarn
Wait, you're supposed to unclench your jaw?
poppygosh
It’s a place trauma is stored in the body. The jaw muscles are connected to the palate and eye muscles. Fixated eye muscles happen in 1/?
..stressful situations. When angry/afraid the muscles tense and the jaw muscles are part of that. Trauma is tension locked in the body 2/?
..that hasn’t been released/expressed. Recommendation is to massage the jaw and relax it. Let yourself completely relax it. I conk out.
IndiePixels
Oh good, so it isn’t just me!
slinkiisu
My jaw hinge has started hurting when I bite down because I clench super hard in my sleep
millenniumf
Well, more like the last 4...
MrNom
If you have this problem, as I do, I strongly advise you to buy one of those soft plastic mouth pieces and wear em to sleep at least 1/2
Tehdastehdas
1/2 nights. 2/2
ILikeCuteGifsAndICannotLie
Bruh I wear one during the day too. I just had it fixed because I cracked it
I was diagnosed by multiple specialists "chronic migraine" turns out it the problem was in my mouth.

I recently got 4 fillings and I’ve come to that conclusion on account of the serious pain i get not when I’m stressed
theMechatronicsEngineer
I recommend these guys for that! https://youtu.be/QwhD5UTUW60 Also: their intro is awesome.

Had a Super Karen at work, when I got in my car, hours later, moved my jaw and the loudest pop i ever heard happened. Relax your jaw!
Slamtastik
Literally yes, and it gave me bad ear problems and it took me forever to figure out that was the cause
TheAnswerWasAlwaysMoreLube
Tinnitus?
sometimes, but mostly just pain, and that feeling that im on a plane
Oh. Hard to think straight like that.
AgentPothead
15? Oh sweet child.
bthetrees
I took a look around and I couldn’t believe this
hsyrnyk
I have to constantly remind myself to not clench. I have actually bitten through several bite guards
FroxyMan
Every day, I tune into mindful physical presence, each time the jaw drops, feels so good, almost orgasmic.
chitownrising
Slightly more expensive than a mouthguard, but I started Botox therapy two years ago and it solved all of my TMJ and grinding issues.
grumpycatreincarnated
I heard of this as an option and have been meaning research further. How expensive was it if I may ask?
First time is about $600. You can use HSA but not insurance. Each 6 month visit after that is less (as the muscle weakens).
Thanks! That’s less than I expected at least. Was thinking twice that. I may need to try it!
neckingduringschindlerslist
Really... tell me more.
I’m a big fan. It hurts a bit at the time of injection, but no pain after and the results aren’t immediate. You won’t be drooling. Stopped
my clenching and grinding after two visits. First visit is about $600 but as the muscle weakens it’s much cheaper and could even be annual.
Either way, much cheaper than an implant.
Huh. I’d never heard of Botox for that. Thanks.

Dots for me and the others...tired of fking TMJ
MsHoneybadger
Thanks! Reminded me to wear my mouth guard tonight
balover1996
Can you recommend a decent one?
I have one made by my dentist but also like the Plackers Grind No More
Cool beans, thanks a bunch! I’ve got a lot of work to get done, I’m gonna see if my next dentist can make me one! Thank you!
coldcallmemaybe
Ditto!!!
Myshaele
My dentist told me that I need one of those because of my torn jaw muscle. Wish it was remotely affordable!
HoneyBunchesOfOatMilk
Check Amazon, I just ordered one from there that was a fraction of the cost of a dentist one. You take an impression and mail it to them (1)
The company is JS Dental. They have great customer service too!
I'll take a look! Thanks a lot for the advice!
You’re welcome, I hope it helps!

I have TMJ syndrome and they said their is nothing that can be done. I go to physio but it doesnt really do anything :/
I had this problem for over ten years with awful debilitating pain. PM me if you want details. It’s been a life changer for me.

Funny how sounds can be so annoying yet missed so badly once gone. I miss my SO's snoring sometimes.
Didn't dr kelso say something about that on Scrubs?
The snoring struggle is real. I used to just kick the end of the bed until he woke up, but that caused issues. Now I sleep in the guest room
tyrfin
Yeah? I used to date a girl who had to have her bellybutton fingered to orgasm

UVAChemE2013
But how would you know if you were also sleeping? She just needs to wear a mouth guard.
I ground right thru my night guard. What the fuck, jaw?
You’re not going to grind through a mouth guard in one night. Get new ones when the old ones are getting low. Cheaper than fixing teeth.
Sleeping can be difficult when your partner in that endeavor sounds like a malfunctioning garbage disposal.
My pit snores louder than a freight train and I sleep like a rock right next time him nightly
And grinding your teeth really isn’t that loud at all, not compared to snoring.
At least snoring can have a rhythm to it, this was staccato cracks and snaps like a drunk stumbling through dry brush
LlamaFan
yeah, fractured a molar in my sleep.

Same, but a canine. It went flying off somewhere in the room and left a crescent moon-shaped indent. Wtf, teeth.
