nearest 4 DX theatre is 200 kilometers away 🫤

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Maybe you can plan a little trip someday, maybe for the right film!

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Chainsaw man movie was also quite rough

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The price of admission is $20 for the theatre, 6 of your men for Scylla.

Beautifully moist.

So... You can't go to the bathroom I'm assuming?

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I found the 4k experience very distracting from Romulus so I would never pay extra again for the water and air on my hair. Earthquake (1974) Sensurround was better

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I guess I’m the only one who is super down for this

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That prick on the left with their phone out. But also, who's recording this? Staff or moviegoer?

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Obviously a moviegoer

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

"All this water is making me have to pee. I'll be right back."

4 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Person overboard!

4 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That could be fun. I’d try it.

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whoa

4 days ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

So they build all that and its still not an imax screen?

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I saw it in imax, it was dope. I'd much rather that than get seasick on land.

I did the Newest Batman movie in 4DX in India. I hated every minute of it. Too much seat moving, it really took you out of the story line.

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It feels like the seat is trying to remove your spine.

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would get so sick watching this

4 days ago | Likes 202 Dislikes 0

seeing it would make you seasick.

3 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I watched half the movie from the aisle stairs... it was not enjoyable.

Last summer when they rereleased to theaters in the lord of the rings trilogy the only showed in i 4D. It was a great experiance as a one time thing. Would not seek it out more than once.

Very start of the 2 towers almost got my friend and both our asses thrown out of our seats at the start when gandalf fights the balrog...at the time i was almost 400 pounds and my ass left the chair a good half a foot.

The scene when Saurmon spins gandalf was also a little silly. Thank god no badguy smells

I saw Alien: Romulus in 4DX and it was great, because all the movements were very subtle. I saw Avatar 3 and wanted to hurl, because I've been on gentler roller coasters.

3 days ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Jeeze. That looks terrible. Then again i haven’t been to a theatre in over ten years, horrible volume mixing, sticky seats and floors, and dealing with other people…. I’ll stick to watching at home in my pajamas

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, now I know. If we see this in even a regular theater, I'd better bring a barf bag for my spouse. They can't even watch the old Windows 3D maze screen saver.

4 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I’d have to pee so much

4 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imagine having to leave to pee and then come back... Sorry man, didn't mean to teabag you!!!

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lmao

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm probably in the minority here, but that looks terrible. It wouldn't make me sick and I don't snack while in the theater, but this would be distracting as hell.

I got to do the Terminator ride at universal which was like this and in 3d and it ruled. I'd want 70mm first but I'd be tempted to go to this

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4DX is a choice for a movie. Do you like popcorn, nachos, drinks without lids? Maybe not for you. Do you like amusement rides that last for hours and not just a few minutes? Maybe for you.

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

closest theater to me is 3 hours away

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A cinema should not be a theme park ride.

4 days ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 26

The emperor doesn't want ballet mixed in with his Opera.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean universal studios is kind of the other way around, theme park rides that are cinema, if I had to guess, this theater is on the citywalk right outside

4 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Spoken like someone who didn't see Captain Eo at Disney World...!

3 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

But this is a theme park of cinemas.

4 days ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

I think you are completely wrong. Not every film needs it, but an immersion aspect can add entertainment value to certain films.

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Which is why it doesn't have to be if you don't want it to be. All for options and opportunities. STAR Wars at the planetarium with enhanced star maps/effects would be dope even if unnecessary

3 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I took my little brother to see Star Trek Beyond in the moving seats, and we both agreed it was fun, but not an experience we wanted to repeat for a feature length movie

3 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's not for me, but I know a couple people who'd be 300% down for this.

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean. I get it. I wouldn't be down for having my beer and popcorn thrown all over the place while watching a flick. But at the same time. If people are interested in it, I dont see the harm in it being offered for those who might enjoy the experience.

4 days ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 2

Yep. If the ticket is gonna cost the same as a day at a theme park, I can see people wanting more out of the experience

4 days ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Especially considering some theme parks have this (in shorter bursts) already. Hell in the 2000s I was at a Six Flags with a flight sim experience. All I remember really though is how long the line was and listening to "Danger Zone" on repeat while I waited. Another one had a Goosebumps one IIRC.

3 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Lost of cinemas you can go to that aren't. This one provides something for those that DO want this experience. I am not one of them. If I want to experience the waves like that, I'll go out in a boat.

3 days ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

if that's what someone wants to pay for and experience... why not? not every movie theater should be a drive-up screen, but certainly I think the business is better with that as an option

3 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It can be if that's what you advertise it as. Lots of parks have this kinda stuff. I could imagine your concern if you didn't know this was what it was gonna be but I'm betting that they're not advertising it as a regular movie ticket. So if you wound up here like *record scratch* ... yep that's me... then that seems like it's not their fault

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Stfu

3 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

No, fuck you and the popcorn you came in with, I wanna spill my soda on everybody within a 5 meter radius god damnit.

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I haven't been to a theater in a long ass time, and this is the opposite of what would get me back into one. It must have it's customers though, company keeps opening more.

4 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

what kind of gatekeeping bs is this?

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

in this case, it's just those poffy velvet ropes...

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean, they should if they exist inside of a theme park. I think Busch Gardens in Tampa had one.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So why are bronze age Greeks sailing in a 9th century viking ship again?

4 days ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 8

Nolan's a fan of practical effects. Practical effects need a real ship. There's a real viking ship made that can actually sail. AFAIK, not the same for a bronze age greek ship.

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There were bronze age Greek ships that pretty much looked like that. https://www.salimbeti.com/micenei/ships.htm

The movies I've seen in 4DX we're never seemingly THAT exaggerated, but it's totally worth the experience with the right movie if you get a chance

4 days ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

My ass would hurt after watching a porno movie there.

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I saw it in 4DX and it was not overdone in my opinion. But on this clip the person filming exaggerates the motion with their phone a LOT.

3 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well, their seat is jumping too.

3 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

True. Hard to hold the phone steady. But, what kind of knobwaffle is filming in a movie theater anyways? When I saw it storm and fight scene was quite shaky. But most of the film the movement was not much. air, steam and soapbubbles(?) Given the choice I'd rather see it in plain steady chairs, but it was not bad

Arabic subtitles? Where is this?

not absolutely true. I live in austin texas and they frequently have subtitle nights or special viewings for any big film for hindi and a few other languages.

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Probably Dubai as it’s excessive and dumb

4 days ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

And probably built by slaves

4 days ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

I remember a setup very similar to this in spain like 20 years ago, i think it was in the warner theme park, it seems to be spreading lately so not exclusive to arabic tyrannies
