#30 seriously, "damn" is censored?

#3 is just not true. Salmon actually swim to the ocean in their youth and only swim fully against the current when they are ready to fuck and die. Plus the further up the current you go, the smaller the river.

#5 Well of course carbon dating is inconclusive, it can only measure time since the carbon involved stopped circulating - aka, after the creature has died.

#42 "Toot toot" vs. ship's horn. The first one is on the steering wheel, the second you pull a cord hanging from the roof of the car.

#2 fog outside, heat. Fog inside, heat on the glass to clear it then cold to take the humidity out of the air.

#15 Here's a random fact, you fuckers. The soap I've used since I was very young (Imperial Leather) has a little sticker on one side with the logo on it. If you always put it down on the sticker, it never gets manky. There. That's a thing you know now.

#42 the first one is beep beep, the second one is you hold the horn button down and dont let go for a full minute.

#9 Is this an actual tool out there or is this just someone going at it with the color selection tool?

#2 you want to set the temperature to high, so it warms the glass so the condensate evaporates, but you also want the AC to run because the AC pump will dehumidify the air.

#8 Seriously, my mom is barely a boomer and yet clicking on the pictures of food that she wants and scanning her credit card is beyond her.

I remember when the Screened Soda machines started hitting fast food places out here. Folks standing there like monkeys before the monolith

I saw an interview with Michael Caine about this. He said he very intentionally played his role in the movie as realistically as possible. He felt that him being realistic then made the Muppets realistic too. Otherwise, they'd just be puppets.

#16 so tell me why they can't rent streaming movies for a buck? Redbox was able to make money by putting physical copies they bought, sometimes at retail if the studio wouldn't play ball, and then had to pay people to put in machines. You're telling me you'd rather i go pirate instead of letting me pay you a buck, buck fiddy? Because the fuck if I'm giving you 3-4 bucks

#2 The universal answer is neither hot nor cold, but dry air.

If either temps of air is simply dry (not saturated with water), it’ll still suck in that moisture. The cold air saturates more quickly and may not successfully eliminate all of the fog.

If you are pulling in humid air next to a beach, it’s useless. If in the mountains however, cold AC may work. Hot dry air should always work however.

I will totally get the dehumidifier option next time i get a car

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I believe the defogger activates the AC even if its blowing hot air in most cars? Since the heat exchanger condenses water out of the air.

#8 This isn't even a joke, it's legit. I've worked fast food, and the boomers are the ones who absolutely refuse to even touch the kiosks on the basis that they "don't understand technology".

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The last time I touched a kiosk, I spent a long time setting up a three-person order (with add-ons) and when I went to pay, it crapped out on me, so fuck that, I'll talk to a person every chance I get if the robots are about as bright as the boomers.

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the kiosks most places do suck. But it's annoying as an employee of one of those places, knowing that you're supposed to encourage people to use the kiosks while also knowing that some people will never actually touch them unless forced to at gunpoint.

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I admit I do prefer the kiosk because I get a chance to peruse the menu at my leisure to decide if I really do want same-old-same-old yet again, or try something new, but if it's gonna wait until the very end to tell me to fuck off and die, that's not cool.

But it's even LESS cool to force employees to redirect customers to the self-serve kiosks only so that management can justify firing more people because "they aren't needed now that people are using the kiosks".

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"Get more people to use the self-service kiosk so we can justify firing you" feels really dystopian.

8 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Value Village put in like 8 self-serve counters but only ever has ONE person "guarding" them (and helping out) so they can only have TWO open at a time. There's still always long lineups. They didn't do it to server the customers OR the employees. They did it to fire more people and make more money for the executives and shareholders.

8 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They insist that they can't possibly use such things because they don't know how, and don't know how because they refuse to try. Better mistreat a minimum wage worker instead.
