Maybe the real hobby is the fans you come to loathe along the way

#8 soooooo, writing on mud while everyone else was doing the same thing? I wonder what the term is for this stone based age?

#17 Well that helps explain why "minutes" and "seconds" are used as subdivisions for both hours and degrees, even though an hour is one part in 24 and a degree is one part in 360.

Wouldn't even need to be a hacker. Any person in the government who has access to the files could release them all and be hailed as a hero. They'd just need to find the balls to risk their job for it.

#7 Calvin would put Christopher Robin in the ground? How crazy must CR be in order to have that many stuffed animals who are ALL manifestations of different forms of mental illnesses? CR is certifiably insane and I would be more afraid of him than Hannibal, Michael Meyers and Jeffrey combined. Pfff! Christopher Robin could end Calvin in seconds, but would instead use months to slowly & painfully take him out.

#14 can someone who owns dogs explain to me why they wouldn't be allowed on the couch?

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Extremely hairy? My dog walks around in a cloud of fur like Pigpen walked around in a cloud of dust. I can’t get the hair off the couch and it makes me itch. It doesn’t seem to matter how often he is groomed either, and he has short hair. I’ve never had a dog who shed anywhere near the amount he does, and it is year round. I adore him, he’s the best dog… my god though, what an impossible amount of hair comes off him.

#5 I bought a Necromunda gang after reading a lot of warhammer comics here and thought it looked like fun, now I have 5 other gangs, a truck and some scenery pieces sitting patiently on a shelf waiting for me to have more than 20 minutes to myself.

My condolences for your addiction / impending bankruptcy.
Hope the plastic crack is fun tho.

Thank you, thank you and me too. I'm assuming I'll get a chance to actually sit down and play with it at some point soon, but that might be folly on my part.

God be with ye.

That became:

"God b'w'ye"

then

"good-bye"

and eventually

goodbye

That is so cool I'd never heard that before, but it makes perfect sense. Its always so interesting to find out how these things evolve from long before.

I've always thought that adios in Spanish used to be a dios or "to god" as in we are parting, you're in god's hands now, or like the English Godspeed.

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That actually is the case. And it's the same for French and Italian.

Adieu (French) = "to God"
Adiós (Spanish) = "to God"
Addio (Italian) = "to God"
