Based on the vehicle, with it's high-end appearance, she seems like a lady who would DEMAND that manager goes out and buys plastic straws (instead of just bringing one of the dozens of metal ones from home).
Say what you will, but her sawzall skills are impressive. That blade can bounce around a lot if you don’t know how to use it. I could see a lot of people slipping and hurting themself trying this
Ah yes. "Wife" material. A spoiled, entitled twat that's so fucking self-involved that 1) she parks in a no-parking spot, and 2) thinks it's ok for HER to remove the boot.
So many red flags here. But you go have fun with that.
Land of the free lol, in Germany there is no age restriction on any of these, although some old fashioned shops won't sell lighters to small children in the single digit age, but that's not a law, just bad business sense.
You could buy one for less than 100 bucks. If its used and shipped, you don't need to meet them. But a lot of industrious and independent kids have gotten suspicious things by claiming they're helping an adult.
I recall Styropyro talking about a time that he, as a kid, tried to buy a big bucket of hydrochloric acid (sold as muriatic acid for pool cleaning) and some airsoft pellets. They wouldn't allow him to buy airsoft pellets because he was underage, but they let him have the acid. He also managed to get his hands on some ridiculous amount of sodium as a child. I think it was something like 80 pounds, but I might be misremembering; I do recall that it was more than I have ever seen in one place.
Definitely not wifey material, this is fling material as long as you don't let her know where you live or live close enough for her to find you again... This is like get in and get out like a special forces operation xD
I use mine all the time. I cut up some pallets and made a storage shelf in my washer dryer alcove since I don't have one. I also use it for rough cuts before cleaning up a cut. Better than maneuvering a long ass board out of the way. They're also good in gardening and trimming branches.
Pretty sure tampering with those things will only get you in even more trouble. Don’t they keep track of the number on it and what car they put them on?
Most of them are put on by a third party, not the government. Which means they have no legal weight. Most governments have no need to put a boot on. They know the legal owner of the vehicle.
Is it possible that some "prankster" or ex-boyfriend has done this to her before? I'm not saying it's the case - she would be a LOT angrier. Just wondering if it's possible for an average person to boot someone's car.
this...other countries dont have that...its a reaction to cops not being able to track down car owners and people using checks instead of bank accounts and all that...elsewhere they write you a ticket and if you dont pay they put a processing fee on top and send you a reminder, repeat until the amount gets big enough to warrant tracking down your bank account and just pulling the money out of it...there is no escape anyways, so no clamps needed...
I vaguely remember seeing something about private parking situations using stuff like this [or those window barnacles], which would mean they're not government property.
anybody can saw a boot off. Hard to prove who did it. You can just say you never saw a boot, but maybe you saw a strange man running around with a reciprocating dewalt tigersaw in your neighborhood and maybe they should ask him.
There are known boot fairies in some places, including new york. Yes, they literally walk around removing boots from people's vehicles. It's up to the state to prove the owner of the vehicle didn't do it themselves.
They know which boot is on which car, so she may be free for a while longer but it's likely the next time her car is found it will be a mandatory impound and she'll pay a nice fine plus cost of the boot in addition to everything else she has going on.
That’s why I love living in NY, anyone, without suspicion can board the ferry and discreetly drop whatever they never want to be found right into the water so long as they can conceal it on their person first.

Short term gains lead to long term pains, when you mess with the Parking.

Wife? I myself sort of like having things like money in my wallet and possessions, but you do you.

Tax me to build the street, tax me for parking on the street, tax me to repair the street, tax me for parking wrong on the street.
Lionanar
Cuz people usually have a saw like that in the trunk of their car... or ?
mc900fthanna
If you do that, take the boot with you and dispose of it, then if they come looking you can say 'what boot?'
BeckyLookAtHerButt
Hell yeah. Is that a saws-all?

Saws-All for the win!

Her dad's going to be so mad when he gets pulled over for the crime she just committed.

Just a misdemeanour as long as you leave the boot behind.

A friend of mine pointed out that you need to be 18 to buy spray paint, but any 12 year old can buy a sawzall.

And anyone can buy those tire boot things on ebay and put them on ICE vehicles.

Can 12 year olds afford to buy a sawzall? How many 12 year olds would want to buy a sawzall and for what? Walkby boot removal?

I wont tell my kids sawzalls exist until they're at least 15.

There may have been some sarcasm involved. Alternatively, some people like to live dangerously. It's not just "bad boys" that are attractive to them.
aznanimality
Don't fix her, she's perfect

So she either went and got the sawzaw or does this enough to have it handy
BeckyLookAtHerButt
Everyday carry in the trunk.

Does not look like her first rodeo.

Or she just has a hobby involving tools. It's not like it's a specialty tool or anything. Reciprocating saws are excellent home repair tools.

Not sure I've ever used a ripsaw in anything I would call "repair" but true nevertheless

Krytture
I didn't do it, I saw it laying on the sidewalk when I came out, figured it was someone else's car. Like Shaggy said, Wasn't Me
Joylove
Would also depend on who owns it. If it’s some private company installing boots on public lands then fuck ‘em.

somethingstupidandclever
Just give them a ticket. The boot is such a messed up thing. What if there is an emergency? Cutting off someone's autonomy like that could be lethal.
ChelVanin
Pretty sure most places don’t resort to the boot unless the tickets aren’t being paid.
akelamishari
Dont come to mexico city. You get these for overstaying parking meters by one minute if they catch you.
Fanner50
They’re used by private parking lots on first offense or they likely won’t get their money. No statutes are being broken.

Yeah, judges famously just take people's word for things.

And yet they accept eye witness testimony.... Or any testimony from cops.

larrytoldmeitbefine
The real question is, does she travel around with a saw for just this occasion?

Or she's not planning on coming back to town. Also, dump the wheel lock in a landfill somewhere. Make them look for it.

They probably have a tracker in the boot I wouldn't take it anywhere.
