Incorrect. There is almost no speed safe for public roads at which the vast majority of aftermarket wings will do anything other than fuck your fuel mileage. Pikes Peak hill-climb cars are the closest thing to having wings that work at road speeds, and they are comically huge. Furthermore, the mount points for the wing need to be fastened to the frame, not a movable part like the trunk lid. That's just a recipe for a dented trunk if the car ever goes fast enough for the wing to actually work.
I don't recall discussing the roads that the car could be driven on. I simply said that a wing has a functional purpose. That is a true and correct statement.

I would disagree. Wings on the trunks of cars can have a legitimate purpose. They literally push the rear tires down when traveling at a high rate of speed.
