In the past, it was called stolen valor. But when it's a computer program, there's nobody who can complain, or really sue. So the worst people on earth will of course use it to their advantage to generate as much leverage for themselves as they can.
Replace the first line with "push buttons on a keyboard and use a mouse to squiggle around to create an image and calling yourself an artist." Same difference. Doubly so if you use so much as a single filter or digital tool to do anything for you, including filling in a color.
AI art generators are just easier-to-use Photoshop-type software that relies on text rather than button presses.
I'm fairly indifferent to AI, but I don't agree with this sentiment. I play guitar, bass and mess about with various other "proper" instruments with varying degrees of success. The creative process for that is the same as when I'm sat in front of my pc programming drums, creating synth parts, or even chopping samples, but it's very different to me asking someone/thing else to create the music for me.
