an easily-startled horse is called "a horse." They're ridiculous animals.

I had no clue this guy did more nervous horsey video dubs other than the "horses scared of bunny rabbit" one, and I'm very glad to learn there are more. :D

Horses are prey animals, and are very nervous about any perceived changes in their environment. A friend broke their leg when their horse threw them, because of being spooked from a stick that had been on the ground every time they had walked past.

Sticks, snakes, can't take the chance. Especially when you can see almost everywhere but have almost no depth perception.

Horses are in the group of "fleeing animals", naturally very skeptical and easily scared. A lot of people dont know this. When we are out riding, usally ppl honk the horn or drive close in the ass. its very frustrating. A lot of young people with their scooters and loud music to.

yeah this is why I don't trust horses and don't want to be anywhere around them, they're massive prey animals which means they can startle super easily and their startle can fucking kill you just bc of how big they are compared to you

Trucker here, I get super nervous and cautious any time I'm around horses. I always slow down and move over as much as possible

How in the eff did we train warhorses then?

2 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Destriers man, Destriers.

Let me tell you about breeds my guy, when you see people riding horses its NOT one of those breeds. Police horses are the same, there are a very selective few that are picked for such tasks.

And even then there were things warhorses wouldn't do. Some heavy cavalry used to put blinders on their horses and the horse, because it trusted its rider, would go where he directed.

Generally speaking a horse is afraid of anything unfamiliar to it.

So please be kind, patient and keep distance if you see horseriders!

Used to be every couple of days I'd see a rider or two near the city centre riding by the river. Haven't seen that after we got those damn electric scooters. I liked seeing the horses.
