I'm driving along, going maybe 35 mph, and I hear a metallic clanking sound, and then then a sudden WOOSH...pull over, change the tire, and then take a good look and see this...
I'm thinking it must be a broken wrench or something. Otherwise, how in the hell does that happen...so I start pulling it out to see what all is there...
Lo and behold, an entire wrench somehow embedded itself into my tire!! It had to hit perfectly as the tire was rotating downwards for this to even happen.$100+ later and its all fixed and taken care of, but not many people can say they've gotten a whole line wrench to go through their tire! Edit; the line wrench is from Autocraft. One side is 10mm, and the other is 12mm. Also, yes, i do have bendy fingers, and apparently manish hands. Lmao. Ps; not a man :)
tgapo
That actually happened to me several years ago.
ILikeAminalsAnFibshAnInsectsAnStuffAnThingsButNotPeople
Gut wrenching
MrNohbdy
In my garage days, I've pulled horseshoes, bones, and glass powerline insulators or of tires. Amazing what people don't dodge on the road.
SoTexty
Tyrannosaurus wrenched
HamptonianPirate
That's impressive.
deepbullet
You'd be surprised...
idontevenknowsillymonkey
Found a lug nut in my tyre ~2wks ago. I don't park in front of my mechanic neighbour's house anymore.
someoneyay
$100 dollars for a flare nut wrench? jeez, talk about a ripoff.
RandomCommenter
That too happened to my dad like 10 years ago, but he was going a lot faster and almost had an accident. The wrench is still in his toolbox.
SoulEvans127
Sweet free wrench man nice job
Imheisenbeard
What a strange happenstance, I saw a post on reddit with a larger wrench. Also your tire looks like it was cut, and wrench was inserted.
mcoyster
Is that my 10mm that I'm missing?
Dublhandi
Bet someone was trying to loosen those brake lines on your car. You dead? He DED
DaWiz01
Is it 10 MM ?
Snaggley
And it wasn't even a brand name wrench :/
SaltyInternetPirate
So, $100 meaning you got a new tire, right? Because a fix would cost me like €20.
SaltyInternetPirate
That's 20 Euro if it can be fixed, of course. Last time I blew a tire it got shredded beyond repair rather quickly.
Kayayayaya
I'm not really a car person, but I do know how to patch a tire and that looks like it might be too big to repair. Again, I don't know better
SaltyInternetPirate
I'm guessing rear tire? Front probably launched it when passing over.
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
Yep. Those were my thoughts as well.
BlackCan
Ouch!
ThQuicks
This exact thing happened to me. Flat tire on my truck. When i pick it up the mechanic hands me a 10 inch wrench he found inside the tire.
BlastedSand
Pulled a garden trowel out of somebody's tire once..
EvilDeadTed
Happened to me too on Christmas Eve. On the town's main street, no less. Had to change the tire in a puddle of slush. It was a 3/4" wrench.
AllTheBeans
Bet that threw a spanner in the works!!
chandilier
I guess it was wrenching out some money... that was bad, I'll show myself out.
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
Are you a dad? If so then that was totally acceptable! If not, well, you're getting started early. Lol
chandilier
Not a dad yet! Hope to not be one for a bit until I'm somewhat at a high standing financial point.
ChairmanOfThePEN15Club
I worked at a tire shop for 4 years, I saw a wrench puncture a tire exactly once. Interestingly enough, glass was almost as infrequent.
humanwhy
I pulled an entire knife blade out of a tyre once, still fixed it
AsinusAdLyram
What about deer bone? Got us on the way home from central WI. WHOO WHEE Dad was PIIISSED
CalebWright
I've seen lost of strange stuff, railroad spike, antler, two wrenches, a long sharp rock, small chunks of wood, etc.
wardenwolf
My mother ran over a ceramic Department of Public Safety (state troopers) mug and it broke and popped her tire. The irony was not lost on me
Topher4570
I had a valve stem puncture one of my tires. The tire guys had never seen that before.
AnonymousEnigmatik
Best I saw was a full screwdriver weird part was it went in handle first, oh and a piece of mulch. Physics man is some crazy shit

Line wrenches are handy to have.
Elitepenguin
Indeed
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
So I've been told.
Osrane
Great for working on hydraulic lines
yotsuya
Having once replaced a line with a Craftsman Robo Grip, I agree. I actually keep one in the car.
notapreppie
Hey, he can bleed his brakes now. (if his bleeder screws are fucking ginormous)
BetaWolfOcho
That way to big to be a 10mm or a 8mm.
IWishIWereNotAllergicToCats
Was it the back tire? The front could have picked it up it into the air a bit so it was in position when the back arrived.
letsplaymanhunt
Someone decided to throw a wrench in your day's plans.
CasualAtlas
Beat me to it. +1
iatha
obviouscoconut
Lmao. Zing
TheAwfulNene
Properly spannered
grimwyrd
Literally. Someone probably wedged it against the tire while the car was parked.
Teneksi
Parked at 35 MPH?
Jovios
Get out
Ghost0fDawn
Oh don't get screw loose over a pun.
Mobileuserwholikestoberandom
Dude, stop with the puns. You're driving me nuts!
thorkild91
The problem is the improperly phrased idiomatic expressions
terriblethunderlizards
i like how your day is going. free wrench!
MacaArena
Tires are not free
chimpo64
I found a wrench a couple of days ago. 10/11 i think... my boy loves it...
fistermatic5000
And a line wrench too. Pretty expensive and an absolute necessity when disconnecting hydraulic lines.
Notareptilian
A free wench would have been better
ListenHereYouLittleShirt
If she ran over a wench, I feel like she'd have more to worry about.
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
You mean with the tire? I rolled to a stop almost immediately, so Im assuming there wasnt much time to rotate around & mess stuff up too bad
TheDwarfCockMerchant
#wrexit
millrar
too soon man!
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
Apparently it's a good wrench too. it's for brake lines or something. My vagina lady parts don't understand the significance of that though.
RelaxImAProfessionalRussian
Please, tell us more about your vagina lady parts :3
cat793f
You can put it on your wall. Good trophy. And that's how you test if a guy is worthy to date, if he knows what it is.
AFuckingBazooka
So i'm not worthy to date since I'm not a car guy? :(
GingerInCamo
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
Good idea!!
WhatchaTalkinBoutWillis
It's used for sensors a lot like O2 sensors that can be hard to reach and have a wire leading out back so you don't strip it with bad grasp
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
1. Love your name
Zokathra
Don't put in your vagina, please.
FlamParadiddlediddle
I mean, you can't stop her, but she should atleast disinfect it first
kneebitten
Someone was hanging under your moving car and tampering with the brake lines, then dropped their wrench. You've emerged victorious.
Combatmatt
You'd be correct about brake lines, or anything with PAIN IN THE ASS WIRES GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WAY I NEED TO GET THAT OFF type stuff.
SuperPickle17
OP, someone trying to kill you by sabotage.
TojS
Why the vagina? How come not just lady parts?
InsertLongCamelCaseName
And why are your lady parts attached to a body with such manly hands?
Fyros
Can't unsee.
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
I am "lucky" enough to have large hands and feet. And shoulders. Lmao. It's somewhat unfortunate. Thank you for noticing though? ;)
yourownpersonalvillain
Those are a man's hands...
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
Sadly no. Those hands are all woman. Haha
HadMeSomeChickens
Well, at least everything's a dildo if you're brave enough.
floormatt87
Yep... it's a flare nut wrench! Nice find OP. Albeit, expensive find.
nativescotland
I like the trophy idea. I wouldn't dare use that one, looks like a low quality piece, I've caused expensive damage with cheap tools
Hecter94
$100 wrench*
boppitybop
*swoosh*
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
What's worse is it was a great tire on my 2 mth old car. So that wrench better serve it's purpose well at some point in the future!
MrSyth
Use it to change tires, accept the irony
Bonnedad
Tire irony. Hmm
Parkerton
Yviane
Great movie.
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
If only I will be so lucky!
KowalskiThePenguin
Did they patch the tire or make you replace it? Because from the looks of things that can be easily patched and forgoten
LordCommanderofUsersub
If it's any bigger than a nail, it can't be patched by a shop because of liability. I wouldn't want any shop putting a patch on this.
Bonnedad
I corrected their terminology, said worst case tubed and used as a spare. What is a 1/3 of an inch
AlbusWulfricPercivalBrianDumbledore
The place I went said they couldn't patch it, but I took the tire with me and will have it looked at by someone else soon.
KowalskiThePenguin
That can absolutely be patched with the proper patch material. It just would have to be cleaned up inside and vulcanized
