As an american it's shameful and embarrassing that Canada had to get help from Mexico because the US is a disgusting, bigoted, evil country that is actually BLAMING Canada for its fires. And that's on top of the them always helping us when we've had fires. The majority of people here suck and Canada deserves better from their neighbor.
Also American here, we have a long history of shit behavior worth judging us for, especially Republicans still being a contender in elections. We encourage stupidity and greed. I, sadly, don't think half of us are worth a damn and think we need to stop pretending we've ever been a good country, and change that by barring people like Republicans and any rich folk from public office.
Not to quibble numbers or anything, but when you add those who did vote for him (77.3m) and the people who couldn't be bothered to vote against him (google says 88m), something like 2/3rds of the eligible voting population do not qualify as "good people".
Yup, many of the US citizens still do not realize, there descent to an empire of evil did neither start with Trump nor will it be even remotely enough to remove him to end this downwards spiral.
don't let the downvotes bother you. People just want to complain online about Americans complaining online. they don't like being corrected with facts.
Facts may be facts but if they landed in the US to help youd still find a way to make it a problem cause theyre not from "the right side of the border" or something. Or straight up refuse the help cause of your bullshit pride.
They don't have facts, they have feelings. Somehow 100 Mexican FireFighters hurt their feelings. According to Doug Ford, the U.S. Federal government has sent zero FireFighters to help Canada. There is a Facebook posting thanking the ....600+ American and Canadian firefighters... but that is from Congresswoman Betty McCollum. I assume she is talking about individual American FireFighters that got a job in Canada. Other than that, there appears to be no truth to his post.
Minnesota, Michigan, Ontario, and Manitoba share firefighting resources through the GLFFC, the Great Lakes Forest Fire Compact. No federal authorization is necessary for US firefighters to deploy to Ontario for assistance, the claim that the US is "doing nothing" is a misconstruing of Doug Ford mocking Donald Trump's tariff threats.
Yes the GLFFC allows Michigan and Minnesotan firefighters to be seamlessly deployed to Ontario, and vice verse, without any federal authorizations necessary. Technically there don't even need to be state authorizations, for all firefighting purposes Minnesota, Michigan, Ontario, and Manitoba pool their firefighters.

Rules. Not the first time either. We're lucky to have reliable partners like Mexico.
TheWombatStrikesAgain
See, the difference is, Mexico is governed by actual humans.

Mexico sent people to help after Katrina also.

That’s how you handle fires on foreign countries people from USA.
Take notes.

American here, don't judge us by our p.o.s. Prez, most of us a good people. If I were 25 years younger, I'd volunteer to help you out.
UncleIrohnman
You know man, appreciate you, but the reality is more like, about a third of your people are good people. The rest not so much.
rmgurfrommars
I'll judge you for it until you assassinate him and his children MN
chaylar
We will judge you for permitting him to remain in his seat of power. THIS. IS. YOUR. FAULT.
TheWombatStrikesAgain
The majority of people eligible to vote wanted him there. Even more the second time. The feels like something you can judge a country for.
Hangonthere
This is just not true. Americans enabled this and the brainwash doesn't stop for "the good people".

No we will. Your president is a turd but the unwillingness of the American population to act is what irks us the most.

Statistically speaking.

Don't worry, my indictment of Americans long predates trumpism

Most of us are not good people. Good people do not allow what we have allowed. Most of us by that definition are bad people.

Unrelated. I appreciate your username.

2/3rds, roughly. 1/3rd voted for him, 1/3rd didn't vote at all.

600+ US firefighters are fighting the fires as of literally a week ago, in Ontario. Have you tried hopping off your hate boner and dealing in facts?

You missed it son. The point is that Republitards whine and complain then begrudgingly honor agreements made by their more respectable predecessors. https://cleantechnica.com/2026/07/26/trump-blames-canada-wildfire-smoke-climate/. Good luck!
