I'll be honest, if I saw that while hiking I'd say, "Wow! That rock looks a lot like a dinosaur footprint!" And not actually believe it was for a second. Makes me wonder.

When I was stationed in Oregon, I found a huge brass thing on the beach once that was so large I couldn’t unbury it and thought, hey, wouldn’t it be cool if this was a bell from a shipwreck?
Half a year later a storm washed away the beach and uncovered a shipwreck.

We used to do the opposite when I was a kid. My dad's friend worked at a history museum, in the Native American dept. We would bring just about any triangle or pointy rock to him thinking they were stone arrowheads or spearpoints. In like 6 years of occasionally doing this, we only found one actual arrowhead...

I had one tell me one time that the radiation given off by the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs made all carbon dating inaccurate because it saturated everything on earth with radiation. I asked wouldn't that throw off dating closer to the point of impact and leave outlying areas with little to no effect? I was told that's ridiculous because the asteroid would have irradiated the planet so much that it would be nearly indiscernible regardless of where everything was

I was told that the climate was different and the Earth was essentially like a big greenhouse with more oxygen or some shite prior to Noah’s Ark which is why there were giants and other animals that were able to get so big like the dinosaurs

Yeah, I think it largely comes down to how much AM radio they’ve consumed. I had some coworkers at an old job that were like this. From what little I’ve seen of them, they went really fucking off the deep end after Covid, which didn’t really come as much of a surprise.
