The joke is that Japanese electronic devices are required to make a camera shutter noise when they take a picture, so you know when your robot vacuum is doing that. Non-Japanese vacuums have no such requirement, so they can do that without anyone knowing.

It immediately headed for the carpet. Good robot.

The camera on phones in Japan and South Korea are mandated to make a loud shutter noise to combat secretly taken photos... So it's quite the issue.

I hated that on my old flip phone. It was always going into camera mode while In my pocket and then I'd finally notice and a bajillion pictures of my inside pocket x.x

I was taking a dump at work last week and heard a guy a few stalls over absolutely blowing it up. Then I hear the shutter noise. Not sure what was going on and I was too afraid to ask.

He was taking a picture of the turd to post on ratemypoo.

Not only that it's geo fenced. So when you travel there your phone will do it (if you are running android or iOS).

The industry started doing it in 2001 and everyone's aware of "upskirting" and groping and been fighting back for a while.

Dude just sitting on the criminal waiting for the cops to come is a mood

2 weeks ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

This is amazing. Team work to take down criminals. I feel like a lotta people would just watch it happen in other places

or beat him up, which is not good either

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

This is good and all but it doesn't do much other than treat the symptoms of a society that has pushed people to do this. South Korea and Japan are facing a huge crisis of loneliness and population decline.

2 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 9

Loneliness doesn't cause people to take upskirt photos. Misogyny and lack of empathy on the other hand.

2 weeks ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

it might be loneliness if he was just taking non-sexual photos of pretty ladies and not upskirts - to be fair there's no mention of what kind

2 weeks ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Is it wrong that I like this public reaction? SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

2 weeks ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

note how they're not beating him, only restraining until the cops come

2 weeks ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Clearly, they didn't want to take their jobs away.

I worked at a deli years ago and caught a teenager taking pictures of a coworker while she was facing away thanks to the shutter noise. I called him out on it and it turns out she used to babysit him so she was going to call his mom after work. Unfortunately I didn't get any updates after that.

If you followed the Pelicot trial in France (I can't sum it up, too horrible), he was actually caught taking sneaky pictures in a supermarket... The following investigation revealed the rest

2 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fuck, I knew about that but never read the full thing. Ugh.

I think he might’ve been chanclad into another prefecture

I was literally just walking on the street and some dude tried to take a pic of my butt. I understand, it looked GREAT in those jeans but that’s just creepy
