a very long time ago, I was a cook in a quick service restaurant famous for their grand slams. Once Friday night a dishwasher called in. The manager took my space on the line, and I filled in for the dishwasher. I was never disrespectful, but I certainly gained a new level of respect for doing well at a tough job
Do you prefer when the plates comr stacked or alternated with silverware so that less food touches the bottom of the top plates? Do you occasionally find any interesting art people make with sauce?
Ive worked essentially every job in a kitchen (at a low-medium level). Dishwashing was by far the hardest for me, especially with just a 3 tank and no sanitizing machine. That said could set my pace and keep going. My favorite was the absolute lack of communication about what was urgent and what wasn't...
Thank you very much. I didn't know people got by with that these days. Here in CT that couldnt get me an apt. Feel free to ask me anything except the name of the company and I will answer to the best of my abilities.

I did my time as a dishwasher. It's a dirty job and most of the time thankless. But it's very necessary. Thank you for your work!

Good job with the ear protection, those kitchens can hit your eardrums hard! Tinnitus is no joke!

Are those ear defenders or headphones? I can chew through a lot of boring work with the right audio to listen to

Actually, they do. Plus, I get a $10 employee meal credit each day that I work.

Out of curiosity, how much is the good hourly wage? I would be willing to answer any questions about my job for you.
