a very long time ago, I was a cook in a quick service restaurant famous for their grand slams. Once Friday night a dishwasher called in. The manager took my space on the line, and I filled in for the dishwasher. I was never disrespectful, but I certainly gained a new level of respect for doing well at a tough job

Do you prefer when the plates comr stacked or alternated with silverware so that less food touches the bottom of the top plates? Do you occasionally find any interesting art people make with sauce?

I did my time as a dishwasher. It's a dirty job and most of the time thankless. But it's very necessary. Thank you for your work!

Ive worked essentially every job in a kitchen (at a low-medium level). Dishwashing was by far the hardest for me, especially with just a 3 tank and no sanitizing machine. That said could set my pace and keep going. My favorite was the absolute lack of communication about what was urgent and what wasn't...
