Sadly that probably means it's had it. The cost of dismantling it, stripping the coating, reapplying it, and reassembly is too much.

But...you could use it at small apertures - that'd minimise any effects until it gets worse.

Especially on a kit lens you could find used for like $50 usd

Yeah, not a big loss. That kit lens can be bought for like $30

You're welcome - it's always a shame to scrap nice things but sometimes it just has to go. You could always flog it on eBay as "Spares and repairs" as long as you're honest about the condition. Someone might have one with that bit OK but another bit damaged.
