umlcat
They work harder than many people I know ...
awesomespeler
Thumbnail reads- dancing car wash.. mild back pat approval by Ian Ziering.
PurpleHippo664
Oh look something good to come out of FL
ManOfKent1967
Thought it was a premise for a new comedy TV series until I read the "autism" part.
tastycrayon
More virtue signalling shit businesses that wants "good guy" points eh? They can go fuck themselves. Signed, with spite, autist.
Enkeria
Everything tidy and perfect. I am happy for those that enjoy their work, no matter line of work or personalty and ability, within reason.
hawkhandsaw
Very cool.

Breaking Good
questetheincubator
Wish I could get an official diagnosis but it's stupidly expensive to be tested in adult life. Fuck my parents
TimeRyderAndTheChronoTeens
And of course it's nowhere near where I live so fuck everyone here I guess
Toomuchsheep
Finally a workplace where everyone is vaccinated!
Philme
There is pilot program in virginia which places autistic teens in various jobs on military bases. If they like it they keep the job 1/2
Philme
If they dont, they try the next type of job, until eventually they find ideal employment. This ranges from IT to ground keeping.
erroreee
I heard this car wash gives people autism
spazzygc
Oh hey, I can potentially employ my whole discord server.
Bluegrasslass
They look so happy in their work!
MDWitCommunityMagnet
Florida Man no one wants to talk about. +1
smorsdoeuvres
MarioBoon
I knew this was in the USA because of all the beige pants.
freefuel
This seems nice, now tell me how do they manage to cover their living expenses working these jobs.
Clumms
Sorry but I couldn’t help read the start of this as “this car wash gives people autism”. I blame anti-Vaxxer click bait.
TheRelevancyOfMyNameIsRelativelyIrrelevant
yes, because that is how we can tell our life has been fulfilled, by working a minimum wage job washing other peoples cars.
aid210883365
?
BungalowMonk
When this was last posted the top comment was “great to see a fully vaccinated workforce.” And I laughed so much I’m putting it here too
BadKarmaAUS
Comment of our generation.
abandandana
And here I was thinking we were supposed to steal comments for fake glory - then this guy comes and just copies it openly. damn you.
fbutt09
Shamelessly and openly flaunting it. I like his style.
TheDarkArchitect
Why is it there's this in the USA, but in the UK it's always a dodgy Polish family in a disused petrol station?
dogsrawesome
it's got that bad in the UK there is a specific number where you can ring up if you suspect the workers are trafficked
AshleyAutistic
Autistic folks don't need condescending pity jobs to live a fulfilling life, we need structural societal change.
tohtorikuka
Is detailing/valeting a pity job? I dont think so, expand and improve your business until you are at the same level as Topaz.
HalcyonGlaze
Depending on how deep on the spectrum they are, some can def benefit from these sort of things. It’s not condescending imho.
DropKickHead
I dunno man, some of us need some help with the whole employment process, and it's an enjoyable enough of a job. Let people enjoy things.
LastoftheLillyCreatures
#Iamnotyourinspirationporn. it's not charity to give jobs to people that can do them. Those people aren't heroes.
Fifofu
Am asperger, found a majority of HR dummies who pick unfit people based on 1st impres., poor psychology and beliefs that include astrology.
Fifofu
Shouldn't have to be like this, but I'm thankful for the "favor and effort" of being seriously considered for positions I would be great for
DropKickHead
If it causes any profit loss, then gearing an entire workplace to be conducive to an all-autistic workforce is at least a bit of a charity.
LastoftheLillyCreatures
no, it's profiteering off of prejudice. That doesn't make the persons doing that bad persons, but them doing that is only 1/2
LastoftheLillyCreatures
necessary and possible because of the marginalization of people on the spectrum. 2/2
DropKickHead
If the state of these people's autism was such that they would be troubled to find employment elsewhere, would you still say the same?
LastoftheLillyCreatures
yes, that's the point.
ProbablyABitDrunk
My only concern is that someone without autism is going to hear about this and then apply in order to sue for discrimination.
whitepolarbear
never have a job opening?
BeingTheGuythatshere
first thought was „isn’t this not some kind of discrimination?“ but then I realized I dont know anything about the topic so I could be wrong
LastoftheLillyCreatures
oh wow, blatant ableism, I thought I'd have to search longer for that.
Shinikitty
Not hiring someone because they don't have autism is discrimination, not hiring someone because they aren't a good fit for the company isnt.
RobErtE87
what if they're not a good fit for the company because they don't have autism?
imjustabill495
Then you don't say that part out loud
Tyaldan
espeically in flordia, an at will state because all republican places are. You cant prove what you dont admit.
skincancerisfun
That is because you are not right in the head my friend.
Moopahdoopah
No, he's got a point. It's America. Stupid people sue for stupid reasons.
skincancerisfun
That is mostly an agenda pushed by pro-business PR firms. Most people don't have the resources to sue anybody.
battlepants
There are lawyers around here with the slogan "You only pay if we win", so yea, they do have the resources to sue.
skincancerisfun
Another trick. They usually charge other fees, and only take on surefire cases. They're like the gamestop of the legal world
Shitheid
As someone who works with adults with developmental disabilities, the owner probably works with a service who with specialty clients
Shitheid
He may also be flirting with under under paying the employees so they don't loose government benefits. The job listing wouldn't be appealing
Shitheid
To someone without a disability if there even is a public job listing. The owner would also need a support team to help guide employees
Shitheid
Aka: a few people without disabilities to act as managers/trainers and diffuse meltdowns or handle accounting/ordering supplies /fin
MontyPythonKillerRabbit
I’m not sure if I’d consider an underpaying job “appealing” just because you’re forced to take it. I really hope this isn’t the case.
Shitheid
In many cases they are just happy to have a job. A lot of people with disabilities are only capable of a few hours work at a time
WeirdAlisMySpiritUserName
Kinda reminds me of what happened to the Boy Scouts.
madmattz
They also got caught molesting and fucking children so ...
Yummybubblez
I mean to be fair though, the boy scouts had a long history of discrimination and fucked up practices
MosesSupposesHisToesesAreRosesButMosesSupposesErroneously
What happened to the Boy Scouts?
phacemelter
They sued @WeirdAlisMySpiritUserName for giving them autism at a car wash.
GuessWho7197
Got sued because they didn't let girls join
gaidinbdj
And didn't let gays join. And didn't let atheists join. And didn't let transgender boys join. And were allowed to do all that while...
fbutt09
Weren’t they generally discriminatory towards everyone in whole?
gaidinbdj
...being given public money and access to public resources.
abandandana
Did... did they loose?
Hobbes777
Probably just a typo...but it’s lose* not loose. Loose describes something like loose fitting clothing. (Not tight)
GuessWho7197
I think the boy scouts won the lawsuit, but afterward they changed the rule about allowing girls in anyway.
