State of Texas labor laws says the employer does not have to offer you a lunch break at all. Austin has a city mandate for construction workers that requires a 10-minute rest for construction workers. It's up to the employer to decide if they will grant a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Most companies I've worked at have fortunately granted a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Voting for the party that wants to eliminate you, your job, your rights, and your dignity is never a smart thing, but they still haven't eaten MY face yet, so...
My employer did this too. When I was hired, it was supposed to be 8-4 with a lunch break, but I'm salaried so forty hours a week is a minimum anyway. However, a while back they started saying that there is no lunch break so you have to work at least until five if you want lunch. It doesn't affect me because I always work at least until six but it was also never enforced.
There are a WHOLE lot more reasons why they should exist 😂 fucking duh. But yeah, hyper focus on this one tiny point so you don't have to acknowledge that
violation of labor law too... that happens to me, I would ask myself "do I want to be the bigger person, or the bigger problem?" and I'd probably choose to be the bigger problem... I'd sue and then wait for the probably inevitable retaliatory firing to increase the damages
Biggest theft by far, is wage theft...this is just outlandish and ridiculous. As an OPs manager, I'd fire this 'manager' in a heartbeat. They all think talent is replaceable. But the ROI is not, nor is company reputation. Also, good luck getting someone to care after being written up for going to their contract mandated lunch, which is a federal law, as are breaks (for an 8 hour shift). While I live in a 'right to fire' state, I have only ever fired 3 people, out of over 1k that I've managed...
Being the bigger person would be to sue them, as you would be helping current and future employees. Being the bigger problem would be to cut the break lines on your bosses car, a big no-no. So choose being the bigger person and sue!
The biggest problem here is this is fake and isn’t going to help anyone accomplish anything except give the person making these dumb ass rage bait videos more exposure.
I didn't link to them and imgur doesn't have an algorithm. If it's fake, then it only gives them more exposure if someone links to their profile. Did somebody do that? Wait yes it seems someone did. Go take it up with them.

"Why do you need to eat so much anyways" ... wow ... just... wow

Dannoboyo
She is actually being told you can sit at your desk and eat and get paid if you look busy.

hope it's not a both party consent state for the recording part.
NotGoodAtUserNames1
It’s fake - don’t worry.
LeoGrun19401
That's only relevant if they decide to take it to court, HR probably won't.
TheMoonBnuuy
there's only 12 of those, so probably not...
but shit like this is EXACTLY why laws like that should NOT exist
LeekofLegend
There are a WHOLE lot more reasons why they should exist 😂 fucking duh. But yeah, hyper focus on this one tiny point so you don't have to acknowledge that
TheMoonBnuuy
a whole lot more, but you failed to name even one to prove your point
widiwi
agreed.
DoktorLurker
And is exactly why they do.
ThatOtherGirlYouKnow
Ouch. Yeah, that's breach of contract.

TheMoonBnuuy
that's your definition of it.
To me, being the bigger person would be to not escalate at all, but to deescalate.
CommentBot3000
Eh, sounds more like fucking over your coworkers to me.
TheMoonBnuuy
so suing for your rights is "fucking over your coworkers"
