I think this is what the cyber truck aspires to be.

That looks like it could actually be more aerodynamic than the real thing..

It’s not a truck. It looks nothing like a truck. It may have something it calls a truck “bed”, but let’s be real: that’s nothing more than an open air trunk. Which doesn’t make it a truck. The closest thing I’d compare it to is an El Camino - which wasn’t a truck. This stupid, over-priced, ugly-ass thing IS NOT A TRUCK. (I need a dime for every time I wrote the word “truck”)

Nice to finally see some green trucks in Texas...

I did see my first Cybertruck today and everyone on the sidewalk was pointing and laughing. I really hope the driver noticed.

Saw one at work the other day in the parkinglot. Massive car but doesn't look super helpful

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hard to believe somebody spent a weekend doing that.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ginger Billy did it first!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Didn't know they came in Baja Blast, but it's not surprising.

My neighbor has one. I legitimately didn't realize for a few days. I thought they had rented a dumpster because I never looked straight at it.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's actually amazing how bad it looks. Like there are ways to do minimal design, ask Apple, ask Braun, but they utterly failed at that brief and it just looks like a fucking pile of sheetmetal.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I be that's a custom color wrap to hide the rusting stainless.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Glad they finally improved their godawful aesthetics!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I saw a real cyberrtruck in Warner Robins, GA at a mellow mushroom. I was sitting at a drive through across the screet zoning out waiting and I realized what I was looking at. Very strange looking in person.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

have you ever tried to keep stainless steel free from smudges?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

There's one driving around in the Kansas City Metro area so far...UUUuuuuuGLY.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

There's one in my town. Reactions are... interesting. https://jalopnik.com/maine-cybertruck-owner-sad-everyone-hates-his-truck-1851478974

Fucking lol... "The marijuana dispensary owner says buying the Cybertruck “wasn’t an attention-seeking move." My brother in marijane... you bought a shitty looking vehicle... you had to know and still getting your feels hurt. I'm not the kind to crave for attention, yet I was doing silly things with my winter beaters KNOWING that I'd get attention, but I didn't care if I got good or bad looks. Some people smiled, some went EEWWW!

Excuse me . . . That trashcan is a champion

Screen cap is from "The Van Zandt Annual Urbie Derbie" by the Black Pants Legion and animated by DC Bruins, if you would rather search with an adblocker https://youtu.be/4v21vRfsUL8?si=IWnf-4qIn63u7_Ga

is that a toilet roll for giants or a dumpster for ants?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Apparently, some people have enough H-Bills to celebrate an old Terran Hegemony tradition. They called it Crickts Mess I think . . Anyway, they spent money on trinkets to give each other, as well as on paper that rapped, they seriously had awesome tech. . . That tube is allegedly made of ground up plants. And it's what that paper that could rap was distributed on.

A-team says hi

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It magically returns to stock every Monday morning and has to be rearmoured again.

I saw two today for the first time. I turned off the music and said “kids! Look! A cyber truck!” And they were like “wow, what is that? Is it a great car or something?” It was funny, I just said “No. it really isn’t” and then we were all confused. Why did I announce it to them if it wasn’t a good car? My oldest said something like that it looks cool. Like he was trying to validate me. It was great

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fake! There's no rust.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's no cybertruck, that's an SA-8 Osa air defence system if ever I saw one!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Splurged for the rear spoiler, nice!

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This looks like someone made a body kit based on a toddler's drawing

2 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

Just like a the genuine cybertruck

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

That would imply planning and forethought.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So I actually did see a cybertruck IRL a couple days back and it really is uglier in person. Didn't help that it was painted matte black for some reason. Maybe an attempt at mitigating rust.

2 years ago | Likes 210 Dislikes 4

Their proportions are just all wrong. They are extremely ungainly in person.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My neighbor bought a cyber truck it's super ugly.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Were you in Reno? That's where I saw one with the matte black look.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had my first sighting last week as well. My takeaway is that it is huge and dumb

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Probably painted in that matte black rust converter paint.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i've seen two recently ... one is the basic steel and the other was a matte black one. they're both so ugly and they have surprisingly low head clearance. my mom's little toyota is taller then this thing

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I really don't see the appeal of driving around in a car that looks like something a 3-year old would draw.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They're common enough in the bay area to still stare at, but not busy out the phone to take a picture much. I saw someone cleaning his at a car wash and thought it was kinda funny.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably going for a Nolan Batmobile look.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I saw my own in person recently too! It looked kind of clunky, like it drove fine but those sharp angles and its front sticks out so far I was wondering if anyone got remotely near it the thing would just tear a seam right in

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You thinks you saw everything?!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Saw my first one tonight- also matte black. So ugly.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I saw one today on I 24. I laughed out loud unintentipnally

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

There are a couple in my neighborhood. Every time is see one i think about how they’ll break their back if they get in an accident. Straight metal(ish) edges make very poor crumple zones.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's okay they fall off at the slightest bump, becoming a hazard for other people instead.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Saw one today in rural Missouri, for the money they cost just go get a new tractor.. better built and more useful.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Saw one last month, and I do agree it's a lot uglier irl, like it's trying to load textures, but it permanently stays stuck in the low poly state

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I've seen one 'au naturale,' and it looked like somebody banged up some old steel sheets, sanded it down, and slapped it over a car skeleton. It didn't look finished at all.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It's part of its charm, it's cool to see something so different on the streets

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

Dude it's a massively overpriced piece of shit.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m impressed you got “charm” to stick in a sentence about Tesla, as the entire brand is deathly allergic to that word.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Looked like? :P

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I saw a black matte one as well. God, they look so stupid.

2 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

guess you need to paint them so they won´t rust...they look stupid - in any color imho

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I saw a matte black one too! Did we all see the same one??

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same, my partner and I marveled at how grotesque a machine it is. The fucking bike reflectors on the bumper don’t help the afterthought-riddled cheapness of it.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Whole fucking thing is a series of afterthoughts. Serious contention for worst car ever designed. And that's a pretty competitive field.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can provide zero disagreement.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah, a lot of people pay extra to have them get a wrap to avoid staining and rust.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me too! Matte black. You in SoCal?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Nope.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Something tells me that the same Musk Bros that think buying a cybertruck makes them cool, feel the exact same way about “murdering out” their vehicle by painting it matte black.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yep, SoCal.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Saw one in the Midwest. It's apparently a thing. Doesn't make it look any less stupid. If anything it actually highlights that awkward fucking triangle on either side of the bed even more.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The stupid thing is it wouldn't even take much to make it look good. Someone on here a while back posted a lightly photoshopped version of one and it legit looked good.

Granted, the Truck would still be absolute garbage even if it looked good, but still, would have been one less thing to make fun of.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

The tough thing about photoshopping a vehicle into aesthetic sense is that as soon as you change the viewing angle, your aesthetic can vanish instantly. In the case of the Cybertruck, it is virtually impossible to paint and kit out the base design in a way that looks appealing from all but maybe a partial side profile. The dimensions are atrocious, the profile is lethargically aggressive, and the use of angles would make even the most dedicated geometry addict want to give up the habit.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Saw a "natural" one a week or so ago. Not only are they bigger than you think, they're even clunkier looking in real life. Plus, they have one GIANT windshield wiper that's maybe three feet long. Just stupid piled on stupid. But at least they're really expensive.

2 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 1

The body panels have ripples in them and it makes it look like it had shitty bodywork after a wreck.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

SOOO much bigger and clunkier.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

That wiper *ALONE* is a deal breaker for me, let alone all the other issues. My '07 Yaris has a 26" driver side wiper and even a new blade will not clear water for the entire lenth. I'd hate to deal with a wiper that big.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

The wiper in question. This guy has a pretty scathing review of the whole Cybertruck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC9a3GR1HJY

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had a merc with a single wiper and it did okay, but it was needlessly complex and I bet it would have been a nightmare long-term (mechanically speaking). It also had to move nearly 2x as fast to keep the windshield clear so I think it wore the wiper blade faster than normal. So, yeah, bad idea.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It looks totally stupid. Like a movie prop from Robocop.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

First off... no, Robocop hero cars were actual 80's cars styled like 80's cars. Second Cybertruck looks like it was a rejected Total Recall (1990) car concept.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was going to say. The classic Ford Taurus looks MUCH nicer than this thing.

Interesting.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You'd think that Tesla could afford to give them a towel-wipe before they left the factory.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

despite the marketing for the cybertruck tries to tell people, stainless steel is only rust resistant. Still perfectly easy enough to rust, especially in any humid environment for a long time. Gonna be seeing people removing rust using their margaritas in no time lol

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Directions unclear, confused with jelly
Fish and peed on

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes its rust resistant and not proof. However you likely wont see rust on it in humid places very soon. Unless the metal becomes physically damaged and/or chemically damaged. You'll likely see them rust up north first because of the salt on the roads

Basically

Basically

It basically wipes off (takes weeks of industrial grinding) with basically a towel (an extremely abrasive and expensively engineered tool)
