Processing is a wonderful piece of software, that can be obtained here: https://processing.org/.
This one has 25 circles rotating at different speeds between a common centre.

Same as above, but with 50 circles.

Same as above, but with 100 circles. I will exchange your likes with more zing gifs. Bring it on!

This is freaking cool.

I watched all of them and now my phone is twisting and all the letters are warping +1

and there goes my whole lunch hour on one OP

Teach them something useful like how to do this in C.

are you sure the dots are not moving at the same speed but have larger paths?

I stared into the canter of each one, and I’m pretty sure that is enough to drive someone insane

Can confirm, processing is a great entry level language, sans a couple little bugs. +1!

Uh oh

Once I got way too fucking high and started to experience the world like this. Absolutely terrifying.

Might I ask what was the goal of this homework?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its really neat how the outermost dot does 1 full orbit through each of these

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can you, ... can you do it with 200 circles?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did but the gif is very large... Check my second post ;-)

I waited so long for it to turn back into 1 line

Basically how I started out. It was Apple LOGO though.

Oh sweet 16.

Are all the dots moving at the same speed but the ones closer to the center appear to go faster because of the smaller distance?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why isn't there a space between the 1st and 2nd circle. It messes the spacing on all of the processes. It's sticking out like a sore thumb??

Alternate title: how to keep someone occupied for 10 minutes.

Processing? I'll be lucky if this takes me an hour. Then again, I haven't touched Java since 2014

He might have meant staring at the gif for 10 mins.

@serapls it spins

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Watched this for about a minute and the next few posts started spinning too. woah!

I could create the functions and loops but someone would have to tell me how to do the maths.

I've been using Processing and OpenCV, I have been very confused about everything but it is slowly making sense.

I love processing, I just wish it was anything but Java

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

there's 2 JS libraries inspired by the original java processing

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It has python mode now!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Get P5js.org , it's basically processing but with javascript.

I worked at a programming school that uses p5, I was thinking more C/OpenGL

Stare at the last one for a while and everything starts spinning. +1

This implies that at some point past or future the Milky Way Galaxy was/will be all strung out in a straight line for an instant, right?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuck I couldn't read this comment because it was spinning too much

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thank you for noticing that too. I was afraid I was having a stroke.

Might I ask why you ask?

8 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

You may not

Not cool man

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

You can't stop them asking. Whether you answer, however ...

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Of course! Northern Denmark. High school level. Nothin' special...

8 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

I was really impressed by the schooling system when I visited Copenhagen. Seems like you guys really have your shit together

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Wrong. I have no patience to teach multiple days let alone year after year. Nothing special my ass

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 2

He didn't mean anything offensive OP. He was saying that you are special because of you have the patience to be a teacher

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Didn't mean to offend anyone. Thanks for having such high thoughts about my profession :-)

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I was about to say, a rotating object set as varying speed incrementally isnt precisely difficult. But for high school level, OK. Language?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

https://github.com/processing says it's JavaScript, with an IDE written in Java

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just a dane passing though.... What's the school called?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you go there, you will know who I am ;-)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well i dont. But maybe i want to
