I've honestly had zero issues with my v400s. And I use them a lot.

That's why the Bambu printers have been so popular, they take a lot of the fiddling out of it so you can just print things.

I upgraded from an Ender 3 v1 to a Bambu P1S about 6 months ago. I've already put in 900 printing hours on it, and got the A1 Mini. It's worth it.

So I have this burning question with all this 3D print stuff I see. Is it recyclable and/or mad from recyclable materials? If not, why are we just willingly producing more plastic waste products?

The answer is a qualified "yes, mostly, in theory". There's lots of different plastics and resins, and it varies, but the commonly used PLA *is* in theory recyclable/reusable - with effort. At least currently, 3d printing is a vanishingly small fraction of a fraction of the plastics market, recycling it would have almost zero impact - there are far more high-impact targets (like water bottles) if you care about recycling.

Thank you for that. On the surface, it looks pretty dang wasteful, so I'm happy to see that there's at least an option. I know recycling and reforming into new filaments is a lot of work, but I hope more people see the need for it and it becomes more of a standard.

The industry is still in its infancy, really. I expect as it grows and matures the re-usability aspect will get more attention, if only because it would be really cool to take a botched print, throw it into a bin and know it will be used again.

For any popular design like this you can usually find them for sale on Etsy/similar for reasonable prices. By “reasonable” I'm including that the good sellers will use fine nozzles & fine layers, and do at least some basic after-print tidying, so you'll get better quality than just banging one out with a 0.4mm nozzle, standard settings, no post-processing. Of course making your own (or buying a friend a some drinks to recompense for the filament and asking them to do it for you) will be cheaper.

Though only cheaper if you already have, or have access to, a printer! Though some fairly decent works-off-the-shelf-rather-than-spending-weeks-building-and-tweaking-it-yourself FDM printers have come onto the market at good prices in the last year or few. The BambuLabs A1 and A1-mini seem very a popular recommendation for beginners (strongly considering a purchase myself) and there are others as similar prices that people say nice things about too.

Check out your local library. Not only do they have books, but movies, audio books, and many have various craft options such as 3d printing available. And while you are there, grab a library card if you don't have one, just in case

I don't often use my local library, but I pass it most days and make sure I go in on a regular basis. I log on to the computers for half an hour, I check out books and return them the next time I pass. I do this because these things are recorded and my doing it will help keep the library open for those who really do need it. (It's also a really nice, peaceful place to go and sit for an hour and destress)

You know they’re really not that expensive anymore! You can find the smaller ones used on marketplace and similar apps for not that much. 100-200 bucks. Obviously it’s better to spend more to get a quality product but to start out it’s more learning process

You're not wrong. I have long considered one, but I cannot fathom what I would use it for beyond a few minor items. Some friends have one, and they tell me that once you get over the initial "cool" factor of it, it's hard to find things you actually need/want. Per them, fully half their prints have been to add stuff to the printer itself. So, their whole "Yeah, I can't think of what to do with it" makes me hesitant. But I am always happy to see incredible things that others are making.

Sorry to disappoint. No, his name is not really Spudford. But, my lovely missus and I, didn't like referring to our kids by "it" when they were still in utero. So, we came up with names that we enjoyed for the sake of the silly. Spudford from the Simpsons and Stormageddon from Doctor Who. It also allows our children to have a tiny bit of anonymity online. I can still talk about them and how awesome they are without giving away their childhood.
