My 12 favorite. For the hamsters I guess.

Literally laughing like a fool over this.

I'm sad that this isn't true..

Kidnapped kidnapped or like paid but didn't really explain what it entailed?

For Hamster, one day he'll get taller.

Not the comment I was expecting, but the comment this post deserves. Cheers.

That's World Champion Petter Solberg. No one can understand his English either.

absolutely wizard!

Best laugh of the day! TY

I'm surprised that rally isn't a bigger sport in the US. What little I've watched of it is more entertaining than NASCAR.

Co-driver must be from South Liverpool, absolutely incoherent.

Just the south?

STAY CENTER LONG LONG LONG

Walter Röhrl was known to have a photographic memory so the copilot reading the track was literally useless. I also think when flying 200kph+ through the woods or over the hills you have enough to do to drive....

Is this true? Because it's amazing if it is.

1 year ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Can't speak for whether or not there's any truth to this... but I'm pretty sure the picture is of one of the Solberg brothers (I think Petter, but it could be Henning), both of whom were top rally drivers in their day. I THINK I read somewhere that the kidnapping story was fake.

No. There was a rally driver with that name, but he died in 2001.

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

This reads like satire from beginning to end so I'm going to say no

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I don't think that's even a real person...still funny though

1 year ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

So a real person, but a fake article. If he died in 2001, he couldn’t have been in a 2009 race.

The *Happy Gilmore* off rally racing

I've played Sega Rally so I can relate

These people are nuts! I love them but nuts none the less.

"He kidnapped a homeless man and forcibly strapped him into the passenger seat" like WTF

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good luck finding homeless people in Finland.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol is this real?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's satire. The driver mentioned died about 8 years before this "race" took place.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Had some family friends that were involved in the European rally circuit. They had the coolest stories to tell. No idea how real they were, of course, but they could weave a good yarn.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And despite this and being a rally Nepo baby he won... nothing! Also this story is probably fake, coming from 2012 when Mark Fischer died in 2002

just strap in and enjoy your flight.

That's a lot of air time.

Didn't listen to his co driver

"HOUSE! HOUSE!"

Modern rally is absolutely unbelievable

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Modern everything is insane. Pro sports, gymnastics, etc.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Old school rally (B group) also. Most racing drivers from different disciplines agree that you need to be a little (lot) unhinged to be a rally driver. Mad respect for these guys and their co-drivers with equally big balls

It always makes me nervous to see spectators standing beside the road like that.

1 year ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

You should see how it used to be. This is the *safe* version.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

That's Petter Solberg with a photochopped conk!

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

fake, there are no homeless people in Finland

1 year ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Unfortunately there is. If you ever hear a story that sounds almost too good to be true you can trust that it's not true.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wonder what Petter Solberg thinks of this picture...

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I really hope this is true, but I have my doubts.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not true. That driver died long before this "race" ever happened. But it's hilarious none the less.
