Nordic languages. I like Finnish best.

I definitely heard Finland say "pelican".

As a Scandi, that's eerily similar on everything besides Finnish. Also that type of Swedish is a really southern type of accent lmao

The choking one made me laugh..... am i a bad person?

As a Dane having lived in all these countries, I can confirm this is spot on.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Kjempemorsomt.

Is Danish a joke to you?
(Correct answer: it should be & it's a joke to this native speaker as well.)

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is so interesting to me who's an immigrant in sweden, I've lived here long enough to forget that I used to struggle understanding a single word of it, what's worse is I had no guidelines either because Swedish and english are both ungendered languages but my native language is gendered (lithuanian) so it took around 7 months to get used to the grammar

The Finnish is spot on and I am a Finn.

Do you think, i could grow my own finns, if i try hard enough?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a Dane, I feel slightly offended, but also entertained. They actually hit the "tone" of the different languages quite well

She could be right, she could be wrong, I wouldn't know either way.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I was wondering why she said an old woman was crawling under a container in finnish

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm Norwegian and I'd say she's pretty much spot on.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It’s very accurate (for at least some dialect). The Finnish may sound a bit Sami, but for a non-Finnish speaker it sounds Finnish enough :D

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She is on point

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think finnish was a bit too ... too? Can't really tell... but like... umm... ak ak!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

LOL
I am a norwegian and I also worked in Sweden for some years. In MY opinion, this was spot on! :D

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So Finnish is just verbal galloping? No wonder they're so happy - they're all horses in disguise!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Her finnish example was most like what it would sound like if anybody sang in finnish. They are not usually that sing-songy. :)

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Finnish doesn't sound anything like that.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Well... I could almost say what dialect of swedish she'd listened to when she learned that. It's northern part of Skåne (plus a bit of Lund), mixed with a bit of Halland... and a good bit of Småland. /Sweden

Norwegian one sounds like it's from around the Oslo area, a very generic eastern Norway dialect. She's pretty spot on honestly. Although I'm convinced the Danish one is just actual Danish.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, the Norwegian is somewhere around Oslo, so generic, but there is also Sørlandet a bit of Østfold - almost Sarpsborg?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Danish goes correctly by speaking Norwegian with big potato in mouth, as Dansk er ikke et språk, men en halssykdom.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Det är ett läte.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OMG! She nearly choked to death speaking Danish! Poor woman.

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Held the potato too far back in her mouth.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just like the Danes

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

”Poor Danes”, you mean ;)

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It IS often quite funny to hear people of other nationalities trying to speak danish. We do sometimes joke about finnish being a throat disease, though.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ever heard dutch ?...

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, I once had a conversation with a dutch girl, and we could actually understand each other, but it was with every second word in english and the other in german.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was more thinking of the throat disease...

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its because Finnish is not a Germanic language (indo-european) like the others so it is different

in Stargate atlantis, there was a scientist that would always lose his temper and start "swearing" in his native tongue (Czeck) -- he really was telling the audience what the plot of the episode was. if you spoke Czeck. :)

"My Czech must be getting better because I know what you mean" Classic John

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of the times he was just saying lines that fit with the scene. I can't find which episode, but there was at least one notable time where his lines were something like and then is when he gave away the ending of the episode. I started cackling when I first played it and a character just burst out with "MONSTER I SKOGEN!"

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lololol
Or the "Dunka-Dunka", in the beginning

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I could not figure out if they were talking a language or not.

Spells are so big tho it's kinda tricky to do multi-player unfortunately.

Icelandic sounds like the only real one of the four.

1 year ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

As an Icelander, who speaks all the languages except Finish, the Icelandic one dod not sound very close to the real thing... but the sweedish did, and the Danish a bit...

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah I agree, as a Finn, the Finnish was way off.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Sorry, my intent was to express that only Icelanding sounds like a *real language*, not that her pronunciation is close to the real deal. I studied linguistics and have a mild familiarity with the northern-germanic languages. Swedish, Norwergian and particularly Danish all sound like some made up bullshit :-D

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's because it is excactly that, a made up bullshit :)

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the Swedish is really spot on, true. Danish could be more absurd than that

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

why we got minus points?

Icelandic is the closest to old Norse, the language which all of them spawned from.
