While we're here, I'd just like to note how disappointed I have been in seeing that as soon as conservatives decided that they should "take that word back", everyone else decided it was open season, too, and they rarely get any pushback.
I guess it just turns out that a whole lot of people are looking for permission to use the slurs and don't care if that permission comes from the worst people we know - it's good enough for them that "well it's back in common use, now!"

In a new rule by the Academy, members must now actually watch all of the nominated movies in order to vote on which is better.
Seems odd that this was never required before, but it is required now.

When I was a wee nerd and there was no YouTube, I tuned in if there were films nominated that looked interesting just because I could see clips from sci-fi or other genre films that I might want to watch. The rest of it was boring to me, though.
