I too have the floppy fish toy. My cats are scared to death of it. They don't like the noise the motor makes.
I rubbed catnip around the outside of mine cause my boy was bothered by it, but he loves catnip. Now he doesn't mind the noise.
Tried catnip spray and that didn't really work.
I used dried, shook it in a bag. He doesn't freak out now, but it's still not his kind of toy so he's only mildly interested.
